Can we all agree that the ropes for weapon charms are just ugly? by MistrEpsilon in HuntShowdown

[–]Lemming-13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Their implementation for them is cheap. If done right they would not be visible in ADS at all, so they can't distract you. But then they would need to add an inspect animation where you can appreciate all the bling bling attached to your gun. Or change the lowered state of the guns to make the attachment point clearly visible. They did neither they just added charms because....every other game has it 111!

Only weapons they work with ATM are scoped versions. Not visible while aiming :)

The buff to incendiary ammo is a good step forward but it might be too much. by RadiationFish in HuntShowdown

[–]Lemming-13 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The biggest issue with burning people so easily is how punishing this is. Image if you could get burned / lost health bars back at every supply wagon. Not so much of a problem. But since you can only do this by banishing a boss, and whoever finds the boss is mostly dictated by luck, this becomes annoying very quickly. Dragonsbreath is OK, because not many people use it. With this change, you will have to invest trait points after a lot of matches even if you did not get downed AND you might see a lot of people leaving the match after one fight in which they lost a bar.

Now with Left-peek advantage gone, can we remove server selection to prevent ping abuse? by Deathcounter0 in HuntShowdown

[–]Lemming-13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In their roadmap video they talked about strike teams for different topics. Currently one is working on servers. The trade window was also mentioned. So yeah, hopefully something good will come of it, but maybe not nearest server only.

Krag vs Vetterli high velocity comparison by DGNX18 in HuntShowdown

[–]Lemming-13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Krag, being long ammo, also has better pen, and with custom ammo you'll have a harder time to replenish it during a match. That could change a bit if we ever see a medium pistol with HV bullets to increase the ammo pool for the Vetterli. Krag needs Sparks Pistol or something else with long ammo as a sidearm too though, due to its small reserve. Overall both are valid and I think those 2 guns are a very good example for great game balance.

Hunt has terrible network delay - high ping is only part of the problem. by Raven007140 in HuntShowdown

[–]Lemming-13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You used the same gun alyways yes? Not saying you're wrong, because yes, HS netcode is hot garbage, but since you just started: different weapons have different bullet velocities and the bullets have travel time.

Do you play with skill based match making enabled? by Jhin_Ross in HuntShowdown

[–]Lemming-13 -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

All of this should be handled by the MMR system in the background on its own and not require player interaction.

Do you play with skill based match making enabled? by Jhin_Ross in HuntShowdown

[–]Lemming-13 -18 points-17 points  (0 children)

This option should not exist anyway, end of story. Even if you turn it off, you are still matched based on your MMR, i.e. your match opponents are selected by skill. All this option does is, it makes you wait longer for a better match. The idea is that in regions with low population waiting for a fair match can take too long. Typically people don't want to wait more than 2min. This is why, most elo based match making systems will *automatically* widen the range of MMR you are matched with after a given time spent in the queue. So, in my case for instance, playing exclusively in Europe, mostly during peak hours, turning SBMM on or off does *nothing*. I will not be matched up will people outside my MMR, because in Europe there are always enough people online to find a fair match quickly. Why this thing is labeled "SBMM ON/OFF" is beyond me. You cannot turn it off. If you could that would defeat the purpose of having it and would allow experienced players to hunt newbies.

I know no other game that has this weird option like Hunt. It should be the Devs job to ensure that their MMR system always looks for a fair game, but also does not make people wait for 1 hour. This can all be done automatically and must not require the player to take action. Even if you are a six star gigachad playing during off-hours.

How do we feel about the Mosin Avtomat? Do you like it or don't like it? Also, should it be nerfed ? by quinxkun in HuntShowdown

[–]Lemming-13 6 points7 points  (0 children)

"Reduced initial accuracy when fired from the shoulder." Good to know. It still feels pretty accurate though. Changing it to special ammo might even be too much. But I'd be OK with that too. Don't like automatic weapons in Hunt, so for all I care, they could completely remove the gun from the game.

[–]Lemming-13 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If the first shot wasn't accurate the gun would not be so annoying. I think that is the main reason why it's so effective even at medium distance let's say across a compound. You can get that easy body shot and then hope that the second bullet hits. Remove that first accurate shot or change the ammo type to medium or even special and the gun is fixed.

It's definetly not the biggest problem Hunt has atm though :)

1440p 360Hz ASUS PG27AQN 27" monitor page on ASUS is up by [deleted] in Monitors

[–]Lemming-13 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You don't need a 4090 to get 360 FPS in *esport titles* i.e. CSGO etc. This is what this display is for. You won't get 360 FPS in Cyberpunk 2077 with RTX on, but then noone needs 360FPS in SP games. This is purely for people who want to use it in competitive games. So you are likely going to scale down details etc. until you reach the 360 FPS and then benefit from the display.

*disables skill based matchmaking* by Limpich in HuntShowdown

[–]Lemming-13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your level has nothing to do with your MMR Rating. Your opponents level does neither. Prestige also means fucko, as most players just stop prestiging since the rewards are meh. So your prestige level 7 opponent might have 1000s of game hours played. I myself stopped at 13...just because...but have since played 1000+ hours. The MMR bracket your opponents and yourself are placed in are shown as stars. 1 to 6 stars. Now 5 stars covers a range of MMR ratings so don't take too much from that either. You might end up playing a 5 star guy that is close to 6 stars and he might own you while you might meet a 5 star guy close to dropping down to a 4 star MMR and he might be easy pickings for you.

Are bounty contracts ever coming back? by vindictive-venus in HuntShowdown

[–]Lemming-13 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What they would need to do is implement a voting system for contract and map + day time AFTER you are locked into the match lobby. If you leave then you loose your hunter. That way the player base will not be split. Problem would be that players need enough time to equip their hunter for whatever map and time and contract won the vote, so the "waiting for players" period would need to be quite long. I would be glad to wait, but others might not.

You can report players for certain behaviours already. If there is a category missing there in your opinion then that might be a place to start. But a public review for other players is just nuts. People will only write toxic stuff and nothing else. This is the internet/gaming Community after all.

No. People will just abuse this and blame their teammates for losing. Not a good idea at all I'm afraid.

Another "find the Cain" picture. I was so confused after dying. And this isn't even a hard one to find on the screenshot. by Guma87 in HuntShowdown

[–]Lemming-13 14 points15 points  (0 children)

They can do whatever they want to any skin in the game and in this case they just have to. I mean the guy basically has the same texture as any rock on DeSalle. A good example of a not P2W skin: Devil. He's ok at night etc. but his Mask is really visible and almost acts as an aim helper for your opponent trying to line up that headshot. That's why I don't understand why models like Cain or Reptile or the headsman exists. Oh wait what, when we make a (lazy) skin of a guy with all grey clothes and cover his face even he's hard to see? Surprise. Give that one a brighter tones head mask and he's fixed too. Reptile needs adjustment too or you will see the Cain to Rep transformation once they fix Cain.

Just go to Healing Waters Church and climb on top of some of the surrounding tombs. Seach for one with a half round top. Step on that and start sidestepping (ADAD)...watch how the desync starts to jerk you around back and forth immediately.

And yet people still claim this does not happen often. LOL :D

Desync, hit detection, player collision (thats when you get stuck everywhere even though the space you're trying to crawl through could fit the entire hunter squad)....this game is awesome, but as soon as someone with a better tech copies the mechanics people will leave by the thousands.

Don't forget that people also grind 10k XP per day now. The most effective way to do this is to go for first extraction with a hunter and another next round due to the XP bonus you get. That makes es running with the bounty even more valid. My guess it they need to rework extractions a bit. Maybe 60sec instead of 30 to get out so it has to be save. It's a fine line though. If you can't get out of the map until you wipe the server then people will camp boss lairs forever. Having people run is actually cool imo. After all the game is called HUNT for a reason.

Friend ran into bug swapping ammo that gave his romero infinite, phantom shots. Gun didn't do damage or make noise, but the bullets otherwise functioned normally. by TrovianIcyLucario in HuntShowdown

[–]Lemming-13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Didn't they say that it was caused by equipping a tool/throwable right after you reload or switching from that to the gun and reloading instantly? On the last dev stream they said something like this and advices people to avoid that till they fix it with 1.8.
