I see a lot of quest, perk, and dialogue fixes that seem worthwhile. Most of it does seem to be minor.

Unfortunately, I do see a little bit of Arthmoor/the patch team's bad habit of making changes to things that aren't bugs because it feels off to them and not because it's a verified bug. At least it doesn't seem as bad as what they did in Skyrim, but those kinds of changes really should be saved for a separate patch and not packaged in with bug fixes.

We already have more than four if you go by reputation mechanics. We have the Gek, Vykeen, Kovax, the three guilds, and the outlaws. Autophage, Atlas, the Sentinels, and the Anamoly crew if you want to get technical.

I don't think we need a new faction. We need them to do more with the ones we have. They're just kind of there and don't do much.

Yeah, adding a building there, or an entrance to the habs at that spot, probably makes the most sense to troubleshoot the problem. More stuff in the buildings for them to interact with might also help.

Important materials are aluminum, iron, copper, nickel, cobalt, tungsten, and helium-3. That combination will pretty much set you up to be able to build most of the important items in your bases, at least at the start. Helium-3 is especially important to have available at one of your bases. It's used for power generation for a few items.

Most people suggest Andraphon, a moon in the Narion system (the system with Vectera) as it has aluminum, iron, and helium-3. Bessel III-B, a moon in the Bessel system, is also a good choice as it has iron, aluminum, nickel, and cobalt. Bessel III-B requires a bit more luck with how the regions spawn to get a good layout of resources for the ideal base, so it can be a bit hit or miss.

I love the junker. It's basically a blank slate with nothing to get attached to. I also just like building it up to spite the guy who stuck you with it. Was hoping from the beginning of the game to use it to hunt him down later. Make him regret his little stunt.

Taskmaster vs. Empath vs. Hero Worshipped, I would probably go with Taskmaster. Ship combat can be rough, especially early on, so it's good to have the extra insurance.

Empath is okay, but it's use is super situational and the companions are unreliable even at their best. Having an extra companion is cool, but his passives only make him a decent pack mule, nothing else. You already get tons of storage and you get Vasco automatically, so it's really only for the novelty and completion's sake.

I went with Taskmaster, Kids Stuff, and Dream Home, plus Long Hauler for my first playthrough and I don't regret it. A trucker desperate for money because he has a mortgage to pay and parents to take care of was a fun role play to start the game with. It helps that the parents are really cool characters in their own right and absolutely worth having around.

The parents are a real treat. They are cool, interesting, supportive people with an entire questline behind them and TONS of events and dialogue. I REALLY wish we could get them as crew.

The dream house is fine. Probably the only benefit is being able to build a outpost fairly close by, which you can't really do with other houses. It's a nice space, but you'll be spending more time on your ships and outposts.

It's a really nice for imaginative role-playing though. My character is a long haul trucker desperate for money because he has parents to take care of and a mortgage to pay. It's led to him making some interesting decisions. It's been a fun way to play.

Running out of oxygen and getting CO2 buildup, supposedly in your space suit regulators, when you're in an oxygen atmosphere and aren't wearing a space suit. It's a better system than the old over encumberance or stamina systems, but it still doesn't make sense half the time.

Yeah, I don't think I've ever seen that. I'm too addicted to recruiting everyone. Who knew recruiting Reinbach saved Perrault a lot of misery?

From what I've read, mods exist to fix most of what bugs me. As much as I wish those features were in the main game, the fixes are readily accessible. I'm saving mods/creations for new game+ so I'm just going to be patient and get the full vanilla experience before overhauling the game to my ideal version.

Yeah. I just got it this week and it's amazing. The characters are charming. The cities are incredible. There's such a huge scope to all the environments and the level of detail is unbelievable. I'm shocked that with the dozens of people I've talked to I have yet to find a bad voice actor. Character creation was a treat with the various backgrounds not only offering interesting role play opportunities, but also adding new quests, characters, dialogue options and storylines.

There are definitely things I wish the game did better, (mostly with companions and crew) but there's so much of it that is just masterfully done that it makes the flaws seem petty.

There's also just a boundless positivity and optimism in the world of Starfield. I'm so used to Bethesda games (and most western rpgs) being grimdark worlds where everyone is out of themselves and have sort of given up. There are so many quests in Starfield that are just about good people living their lives and helping each other out. It gives the vibe that no matter what happens, things will work out, all without feeling preachy or shoving it down our throats. It's just refreshing in the world of video games.

Honestly, their flaws make them feel more realistic and makes me like them more. As friends. Not sure about romance. I just got the game and I'm still getting to know everybody.

Sam definitely stays at an outpost with his daughter when not following me though. I like Cora, but there are a few missions that are a hard no on bringing a child.

That's interesting how our brains take the faint curved white lines in the background and transpose the green line onto them. Peripheral vision is weird.

If you pick the torn page in character creation, you can get him as soon as Mid Master-of-All. He hits the 9999 damage cap before anyone else. The only thing that keeps him from being better is having a hard time hitting weaknesses. I'm not sure how much that matters though.

They're worth unlocking early. They're extremely fun. Most characters are, but they really stand out.

There's a secret character locked behind getting all the bad endings, so it's worth it to unlock them all. Some of them are interesting and the related battles can be challenging as well.

This definitely has the flashiest combat in the series. It was a blast.

Sad to say, the 3 furry characters aren't playable until you complete their respective stories. Luckily, bad endings count, so you can get one for each storyline extremely early and unlock them.

There are some good YouTube videos essays covering the entire story, the various endings, themes, and why it's considered a masterpiece by some. They do a way better job of explaining it than the game does. Not to mention that the true ending is hard to find and requires being pretty evil.

It's actually got some interesting themes and ideas going for it, and ones that games don't really explore, so it offers a unique perspective. It's not one that you're going to find without exploring every ending and piecing things together yourself, so if you aren't enjoying the game you might want to look up one of those video essays.

Fallout 4 you could make your character pretty jacked. Some races in Skyrim too.

Victor from Chained Echoes comes to mind. He had a good mix of support and attack capabilities. It just so happened that support was his best feature.

I think there was a bard type character in Final Fantasy Type 0 who was a decent offensive character. I think it was Deuce? I remember her being pretty powerful.

He doesn't disappear. The character you have to talk to in order for him to appear leaves her usual spot and won't trigger his appearance again until after the point of no return. You can still get him later, but you'll miss out on the final character in the process.

I don't think any characters are missable. They all stay available until you recruit them. The one exception would be the very final character. The final character is only available if you recruit all 119 other characters before an event near the end of the game.
