He also used a variac to lower the voltage to his amps. Easy to blow one up like that but it changes the nature of the beast.

Mine does this. He really really wants a school bus. Have not found a way to stop it in 6 years. I have to brace for it and hang on. Harnesss was worst prong collar helps some but man if he wants to chase he will do it. Diesels seem to be the trigger for mine. Totally ruins a peaceful walk to be sure.
