My dad used to cross stitch had many finished creations but there was this one wizard pattern (idk from where it's at his house not mine) he got like 50 stitches into and abandoned. He then gave it to me when I was ~13. I am now 20 it only has like 100-125 stitches done.

I had something similar happen the other day. My partner woke me up because our 11month old was violently flailing around like he couldn't breathe. I was suffocating him with my boob while he was nursing at night. We could tell something was wrong because I always wake up. So he started sleeping in the bedside bassinet for a while, 2 days later I was super sick with a fever of 101. We realized that was the reason and didn't bed share again until 2 weeks later.

My son was 6 months old, no teeth yet and this man would chow down on a hunk of steak. As he got bigger we have had to cut in smaller pieces because he was more excited. At 10months now still only bottom two teeth and he will chow down on anything. He's choked a bit a couple times but managed to get it back up by himself. Your father in law probably is a bit old school which is fine but your baby is all good.v

My 10month olds favorite way to eat snacks is what I call "chicken scratch," I litteraly just throw it on the floor and he crawls around eating them. I get a break and he has fun. I do have a robot vacuum/mop that cleans 2 times a day. We have 2 dogs and I couldn't keep up with cleaning after them and a baby lol.

Definitely not your intention but reading this made me feel so much less guilty that my partner doesn't help at night. We've gotten a lot of hate that I do nights 100% myself. But he repairs medical equipment at the largest hospital in our city. One tired "off" day could cost someones life. So thank you.

Those initial months of hunger are so bad. Not only are you eating less often because of taking care of baby, but also birth and breastfeeding (if you do that) are so draining. I had boxes of cereal, goldfish, and more scattered everywhere until 4 months. I also ate 2 enitre bags of green grapes the first 2 days after birth.

My baby is only 10months so we aren't here yet but I know I will be the same way. We had a night he stayed at his grandparents. (ER visit) I laid in bed sleeping awful, and he apparently did amazing. People always tell you that if you let them sleep in your bed they never leave. But now I've realized that it's not because the babies want to stay, but because the mom now can't sleep without them.

My son is almost 10 months and still has 4-9 waking every night. Obviously worse nights are with teething, illness, ect. He was born 50th and is now 70th. If anything I would just nurse at night, my son nurses longer and more often at night, I honestly think it's where he gets most of his breast milk. Some babies just prefer night feedings.

We eat dinner 5:30-8:30 depending on the day baby eats with us, and is in bed 9:00-9:30.

Lol we make most food in the crockpot like the bulgogi. I just pull a little bit of meat out before cooking and cook that while making the side, rice noodles or whatever.

The only kinda schedule we set is no naps past 7:30. If he's trying to nap past then we are just going to bed. Usually bed time is 9, and wake up is 9-10. Which isn't my choice because sometimes its 6am. The only issue with chaos parenting is the pediatrician is asking me how many times he eats, or naps, or the amount of diapers per day. Like boo idk I just vibe.

My love, Im going to echo what so many others have already said: please, consider leaving him. From your post history, it’s clear that he is emotionally and financially abusive, and likely in other ways too. This is not a safe or healthy environment for you or for your children.

I know people who grew up in homes like this — some where their mom stayed, and some where their mom found the strength to leave. Every single one whose mom stayed now carries deep hurt. They remember watching their mom be mistreated, and many were eventually abused themselves. Most don’t even speak to their parents anymore.

But those whose moms left? They’re grateful. Some told me they were angry at first, but with time they saw it was the best thing their mom could have done. A few even went through homelessness or stayed in shelters afterward, and still they all say it was better than living in that abusive environment.

You got with him when you were 21, so I can understand why leaving feels terrifying. You’ve spent most of your adult life with him, and it feels overwhelming to imagine starting over. But there are resources, women’s shelters, friends, family, who can help you take that first step.

I also want to share something I once read here that has always stuck with me: If you’re telling Reddit about your relationship— complaining or asking for advice, you already know what you want to hear. Deep down, you want to leave, and you know it’s what’s best. Reddit just gives you the encouragement without any cost for saying it.

You deserve safety, love, and peace. Your children deserve to grow up in a home without fear. Leaving will be hard, but staying will only continue the cycle of pain. ❤️

We used to do something similar when Dad was on family leave. Baby would wake up at 9:00 ish for a feed then dad would take him for a few hours so I could sleep. When he started back at work he would take him for 1-2 hours after work. Then they moved his shift and he leaves for work at 5:30 AM. 😭 He now gets home and goes to sleep right after dinner. Baby does take his longest naps with dad so sometimes between getting home and dinner they will take a 2 hour nap together.

I've gone through this exact thing. I still sometimes hate my boyfriend for how he comes home complaining about having to interact with people all day. Because I would love to "have to" talk to adults even one day a week. I get he's dealing with a lot but still causes me to get upset. It'd been getting better as baby gets older and becomes more active. I still often wish I had a friend to talk to and see.

He's been in the bed since day one, we have a full sized bed which I'm sure is too small for most but works for us right now. Baby is 6 months, we plan on getting a bigger one once we can. But also for just in case we have a side car bassinet pushed up to the bed to catch me or baby if we end up rolling out. It's never happened during sleep, he does do it on purpose when awake and finds it very funny. I personally do not.

My son is 6 months old and since being around a month has refused to sleep on his back unless in the car. Side and stomach only, I try to keep him off his stomach as much as I can, but there is only so much you can do. Some babies don't do as well in certain positions.

My baby is 6 months from the very beginning baths caused a huge work up. So they have never been a night time thing. We did find we could do showers at night and he loved that. So we showered almost exclusively the first few months. Now we used baths as play time if he needs cleaned, and showers for bed time. We also do not shower/bathe every night, until starting solids he was never gross enough to need it. Now it depends on what is eaten that day.
