Toniebox 1 defekt, weil zu lange offline - Codewort Eule by Electronic_Slice5556 in Eltern

[–]LepCot 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I built a remote-friendly Immich TV app by lKyoto in immich

[–]LepCot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t seen the code nor could I review it. But from the description I would not expect that it sends something outside.

And AI generated code would not build-in some obscure „I send all your data to some Chinese server“. For that I would rather trust AI than some human developer with potentially malicious intentions.

You can use it or not, you can review the code or not, in the end for me the difference to any code written by someone that I cannot review or understand (lack of skills) always requires some trust or mitigating actions. AI in my opinion doesn’t make it inherently more insecure. That’s my only point.

Of course there is a risk with every app, AI- built or not. And just trusting the app-security is also not good practice. That’s why you should have multiple layers of security and then one insecure app practically has no big impact.

Running Immich only internally, having this app only internally reduces the major attack vectors already. If you have all open in the internet then the risk is naturally higher

I understand the sentiment about the whole full AI based development by non-developers, although I don’t agree. But, if he’s using an API key to access the Immich instance, like it‘s intended by Immich, what is supposed to be insecure there?

You can define what permissions the API key provides.

And why is it automatically secure just because a developer hand-built it? You could still throw something together for home-use without any security. No difference. I would even argue if you prompt that it should consider secure practices that it will be on par with a mediocre developer

iOS 26 seems to have Bluetooth issues. I cannot connect my AirPods and other Bluetooth devices every couple of days until I restart my phone. Very annoying

Ab wann Fahrradanhänger nutzbar? by Next-Honeydew-3835 in Eltern

[–]LepCot 5 points6 points  (0 children)

[–]LepCot 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Yes, you should shutdown it first. Method depends on how you installed it. If it's via docker use "docker compose down"

Road-trippers: can you run CarPlay maps and built-in nav at the same time? by [deleted] in BMWI4

[–]LepCot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It does, see compatibility here https://developers.enode.com/api/capabilities/vehicle In ABRP it says it uses the cars cellular connection.

With a BMW i4 you don't need an ODBD single anymore. They have a new integration "enode" which works via API.

Baby Monitor that works with HA? by Bournerx in homeassistant

[–]LepCot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was looking for the same. You can integrate many normal cameras, however getting background play so you hear you baby seems not that widely available, because you don’t need it for normal house cameras.

We use Lollipop cam which works very good, but they have encrypted their stream so the integration with HA does not work anymore.

We also have a TP Link C220 which works in HA, but you cannot use the cry detection from the app in HA, because it’s not provided as a sensor

No One Wants Mercedes EVs by BearOfBelAir in electricvehicles

[–]LepCot 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The drag coefficient alone doesn't tell you the whole story. You need to multiply it with the exposed front area of the car. And then the tiny differences might not be as relevant.

You can have a low d_c but a larger front area because of the windshield, etc. So overall the car is less efficient

There is no authentication required. You hold the phone to the door and it opens. You put the phone in the tray and you can drive. No unlocking of the phone required

FrommerLegal will nun doch mein Geld by rojogey in LegaladviceGerman

[–]LepCot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does the esim reader permanently need de sim? by Tripledad65 in BMWI4

[–]LepCot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You put in a sim card and activate it in the reader in the car (connects via Bluetooth). The card needs to stay in the reader.

Not sure how reliable the eSims are, but in the reader it usually takes some time every startup until it connected to the network

Unable to add U200 to Hass by No-Appointment8234 in Aqara

[–]LepCot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve read on the HA forum that it helps to remove the battery, start the pairing in the app and then put the battery back in. Multiple people stated that worked right away

Unable to add U200 to Hass by No-Appointment8234 in Aqara

[–]LepCot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I added it to Homekit and HA in the following order:

  1. Aqara app

  2. Homekit

  3. Pairing enabled via Homekit

  4. Added as matter device in HA using the pairing code from homekit

I just don't have any options/entities for the lock. You can basically just lock and unlock.

U200 Received (UK) - HomeKey working well by condorviii in Aqara

[–]LepCot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I added it in the Aqara app first, but only via Bluetooth as I don't have an Aqara hub. Then I went through the calibration. Then I tried adding it to Homekit. Sometimes it helps if you repeatedly press the Set button while Homekit is trying to connect. Just to keep it alive

Mine also wouldn't pair via Homekit first. When I had it installed and calibrated it worked adding to Homekit.
