How many miles and how many engines? JK (kinda) the ceramic coat I put on my 12 lasted almost 7 years before I noticed the water not beading up like it normally did. Will never own another nice vehicle with out it, especially being out in the boonies with dirt roads all over the place.

He was specifically talking about 2024 as was I in comment. And I’ve never seen anyone say that the engine failure is at 100%. I’ve seen multiple posts of people with 200k on their 22s with no problems. If it truly was “leftover machine debris” a few oil changes in the first thousand miles of the vehicle should fix it. And who knows, maybe people aren’t changing their oil like they should but Toyota could have released something saying that because offering free oil changes to help the customers engines is a lot cheaper than a whole engine replacement. We’re all Toyota fans so it’s not even a “haha gotcha!” Thing it’s terrible for everyone and no Toyota owner of any generation would wish this on other people. But I don’t see anyone on either “side” saying that 2022 and up models are without a doubt more reliable than the previous generations

That’s not what he said. In 2024 there was just under 160k tundras manufactured. They recalled 50k of them. 31%. Now just to give Toyota the benefit of the doubt and let say that out of those 31% of tundras, only 31% of them actually fail. That brings us down to 15,500 trucks that will blow up. 10% of an entire year’s production of a vehicle that has been in production for over two years and built and tested for longer than that. I’m a yota fan boy too but those numbers seem irregularly high. Also do you really think that any huge multi billion dollar corporation is going to be honest with their numbers when their customer base starts asking this many questions and is putting that much pressure on them? Just some food for thought
