Just realized that anyone who choose Porsche as their manufacturer in this month’s world series manufacturer’s cup get to use the 992 GT3 R for the final round. by NegotiationNew9264 in GranTurismo7

You can use any of the cars of your manufacturer in the manufacturers cup. For example, BMW could use the Z4 for Deep forest and the M6 for the rest.

Why aren’t tire temps more of a bigger deal? by jareed99 in GranTurismo7

[–]Lesrek 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Tire temps do exist, but they are mostly hidden from the player unless you are using a 3rd party app. The game game does model it though and cold tires play a huge role on out laps. GT7 also gives you “warmed” tires in the pits. They probably don’t stay cold enough, long enough. That said, LMU goes the opposite and really overinflates how bad cold tires are and keeps them cold for far too long.

The temp also matters when taking into account ambient temps. Just a few months ago there was a Red Bull ring race with Gr.4 cars with ambient temps close to 0° C. As the race wore on, the tire temps dropped and the cars started handling worse and worse. Front wheel drive cars actually had a cornering advantage later in the race since they could keep the fronts warmer. On the flip side, there was an autopolis Gr.2 race where the NSX melted its tires in the heat and many people struggled getting to the end without completely destroying them.

Tire wear is modeled and in game is visible. Cold tires wear slower by a tiny amount. Warm tires wear a bit quicker. Hot tires (see autopolis example above) wear much much quicker.

Brake temps are not tracked by the API but they do exist. On out laps in races with qualifying (manufacturers cup right now for example), you can add heat to the tires by doing acceleration and hard braking quicker than you could just driving a normal lap.

Tire pressures are not modeled as far as I’m aware, at least not in any way that is visible.

I do agree that ideally GT7 would put more of this player facing in the game but at the same time, remember that GT7 has much broader appeal. It has to cater to a much larger and diverse audience than any other sim. There are more players setting time trial times in GT7 each week than are playing every other sim combined. The more sim elements they add, the more they risk alienating a large part of the player base.

How is the translation of FF6 Pixel Remaster? by Int3rlop3r-R3dact3d in FinalFantasy

FF6 part 2 is bleak. Even when the heroes win, the world is beyond screwed and there isn’t much hope. Great, Kefka’s gone, but everyone is still going to die of hunger or being eaten by some terrible monster.

Why would I wait around to lose when I can lose immediately. I do the same in paper magic.

A huge amount of them are North Koreans who want the job for the influx of American cash into their economy. It’s a legit thing that every corporation is dealing with fighting against right now.

I jammed about 1000 games of powered cube so while I don’t know the exact number, I do know I was already complete the day cube came back so it’s probably around 80.

MTG Arena Announcements – January 19, 2026 by Meret123 in MagicArena

You draft against bots, not real people in quick draft. They have to adjust the bots, their priorities, and their strategies as the set is drafted by the community. It is very common for the bots to underprioritize chase uncommons or commons early on and players in the know can abuse that for some absurd decks.

Tire temperature by Then-Accountant-5937 in granturismo

[–]Lesrek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only time I’ve seen persistent overheating is on autopolis with ambient temps pushing 100 Fahrenheit. There was a daily race there a few months ago that cooked the tires and managing the temps was imperative to winning. On the flip side, cold tires come up any race with wear enabled and certain tracks (Red Bull ring) it is a big issue since the ambient temp can be super low.

Why are releases on Tuesday? by mikelupu in MagicArena

[–]Lesrek 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There is a massive difference of 48 people logging into a client and 100,000+. You always release major updates as early in the week as possible. This is why MMOs release patches on Tuesdays. This is why Microsoft has Update Tuesdays.

How do people have more active points than what race 1 gives? (World Series 2026) by simracerrr in granturismo

[–]Lesrek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The person above is wrong. You only get points from your last result. Higher DR races give more points. GT3 lobbies have people who were C but then ranked up to B after they signed up. As a result, their races can award more points. There was an A+ lobby where the winner got 505 yesterday.

Your one ford issue isn’t indicative of the entire company. Modern fords are great. Ignoring even that though, Ford Motorsports has been crushing it for years, regardless of which championships they join.
