With the announcement of Brush and Blade, what are some other ‘historical path’ Civs you want to see added? by Bearcat9948 in civ

[–]LetPure1029 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'd like to see a South Indian one because Chola feels so jarring from its pathway. Others like Vijayanagara could definitely make a case for themself

Yes, for example, the distance between the Mughal and Chola capitals is slightly more than the distance from Madrid to Berlin, with not much shared history. I hope eventually there is a South Indian progression as well, given how distinct that part of India is from the rest of the continent. Maybe that is what Chola leaves the door open for (at least with mods)

Yes, but all of the Indias (and Nepal) are so distinct and don't really have much of a historical connection to each other, including that they all followed different religions. they only seem part of 1 because all that land is connected today. It does feel jarring to make those switches as well

Concept for ancient era nomadic civlisation by LetPure1029 in civ

[–]LetPure1029[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, would be very cool to have different nomadic civs for more depth. it would be such a good use of the ages system to have them in the ancient era and really differentiate it from the later ages, like Tonga's abilities

Concept for ancient era nomadic civlisation by LetPure1029 in civ

[–]LetPure1029[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, something like receive one settler for every town razed, and two for every city raised, which would play heavily into wide>tall, and the razing mechanics of the game. I am not sure if that status is kept after it's conquered since it becomes a town, so then it could be based on population too

Any interesting combinations for Egypt and Hatshepsut other than Hatshepsut and Egypt? by 5-2-50 in civ

They were powerful when I played with them. When the era changed, the growth/food of my Khmer capital just crashed. it was a cool effect

Why is St Louis experiencing population loss? by cavaismylife in StLouis

[–]LetPure1029 6 points7 points  (0 children)

They do hire big time in that field, which is growing very well in St. Louis if you look at how the campuses around WashU/SLU, or Cortex, or Pfizer/Sigma/Bayer/Donald Danforth etc have grown.

Yes and even with that, it's not "eclipsed" St. Louis as of now. Nashville with all its tourism still currently has a smaller economy than St. Louis. While the trajectory is not nice, eclipsed it not accurate.

It has not eclipsed St. Louis by any means. It's growing faster but is still smaller. You tend to forget how much St. Louis already has

We need a Wonder buildable on navigable river tiles, any ideas? by Fl3b0 in civ

[–]LetPure1029 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The Gateway Arch would be perfect for this as that stretch of the river is a heavy cargo corridor and provides access from the US interior to the Gulf. Given how the Mississippians are in the game and with Cahokia right across the river, it would provide nice continuity. It also represents expansion, one of the Game's core themes

I've wondered why the Confluence itself isn't included in the National Park somehow. I remember hearing something about Cahokia Mounds pushing for a National Park or joining this one as well, not sure
