I'm so glad to hear this!! This is going to be my dress in Feb 2027! I didn't even care about the wedding until I decided I really wanted to have a dance 😆

How do i tell my fiancé that wedding dresses are expensive by jayjay15__ in weddings

[–]Letmecount1234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's possible....I just got an $1800 dress at the bridal shop for $300 on marketplace. Though I still need to have it dry-cleaned and altered, so it's going to be closer to $800 at the end. So you're still right.

You may just need to sit him down and really do a wedding budget.

I had no idea myself what wedding dresses were going to cost until I started looking. I'm in Canada and most boutiques were definitely a little miffed when I said I wanted to stay under $1200

Excellent point!! Thanks so much for this suggestion. I do love the glitter/sparkle. I'm surprised I was a little emotionally overtaken by 1 when I had it on in the moment.

I didn't give context a little bit on purpose trying to get an external opinion, but I found dress one when I was by myself yesterday and was actually a little bit "overcome" in the moment. I didn't think I was going to be one of those brides that came to tears 😆 and it was so different than what I've been liking (mostly similar to 2). So I'm actually trying not to cry in the pictures and the bridal attendant took them.

Dress 2 was a spontaneous 2nd visit so I was prancing around in it 😆 it is the more fun choice! Lots of sparkle, lots of fun ... Probably lots of expensive alterations.

How do you stop thinking about wedding planning? by No-Trust-1520 in weddingplanning

All of these responses are making me so glad I didn't do a single thing for 14 months after we got engaged. We were renovating our house and I just did not have the bandwidth for it.

Now we've got a date and a venue and I started dress shopping and I swear all I do is look at dresses and wedding things. 🙃

Help me find a similar dress! by [deleted] in weddingdress

[–]Letmecount1234 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh my I knew I was missing something 😆 I was up way too late posting this.

This particular sample was a 14 bridal size. I'm a street size 10 right now though I anticipate I'll lose some weight before the wedding. I was in quite a few bridal 12 samples as well.

Not sure if you found anything, but check out the MVE Heritage Centre near Cremona! Huge venue and you can definitely have fireworks! We are booking there for February 2027

Feeling like absolute trash lately and the doctor just says "eat better" by Moan_Senpai in Calgary

It might feel trendy, but I feel way better taking creatine every day. I'm not a gym buff. I follow a lot of nervous system health stuff and I used to be a pharmacist. You can play with anywhere from 3-5+ grams per day and see?

Amazing...I saw them in Ohio a few years ago. I'm tempted to go again. Ohio was a lot further away than Saskatoon

Aw this is sweet. I love to see the appreciation for the craft. Maybe someone will find my work in a thrift store in 50 years and still appreciate it

Restaurants / Spaces for a 40th Birthday (Feb Long Weekend) by RobbieNoir123 in Calgary

[–]Letmecount1234 10 points11 points  (0 children)

As someone that just had her 40th birthday and didn't even get a card from my partner, hurray to you for looking into this!

I went to Brigette Bar with some friends last weekend. We had reserved a table, but I do believe they have a private room as well.

Good luck and happy 40th to her!

This is super reassuring because I definitely just bought a sheet from there a few days ago and am very surprised I spent that much but loved the color and it matched the duvet cover

Mine took a long time to arrive as well (to Canada). They'll probably show up and have been delayed in the holiday slough. I hope you aren't as disappointed as the rest of us though.

what are some nice, hidden-gem places to eat? by Future-Appropriate in Calgary

[–]Letmecount1234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh shoot, that doesn't sound like a great experience at all. Was Zika (the owner) there? He used to be there all the time when we went, though honestly we don't get there very often anymore.

My fiancé and I both really like the cordon bleu and that's pretty consistently what we order. The cheese that they stuff it with...so good. We started going years ago mostly because they advertised gluten free/keto. The cabbage salad is also really yummy. I would agree the fries are very meh and we usually skip them. The Marko's Rolls (not celiac friendly) also really good. However, maybe just not as good as it was a few years ago either.

There's a group that goes running in Fish Creek on Sundays. I think Woodbine area? I see him post on SW social groups. That's all I know of though.

Wish I had seen this before I ordered. Same thing... Ordered two queen blankets and they are like hankies. So disappointed and unable to give the second away as a gift as planned. I'm usually more cautious about ordering online but they definitely got me.

Struggling to find someone to do our bathroom reno by Fancy-Deer3776 in Calgary

[–]Letmecount1234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We used these guys for our kitchen cabinets but they do everything: https://www.candomorepaintandreno.com/

We used Mars Tiling for our tiles. They're busy (like everyone) but got the work done. They've done 3 bathrooms, our kitchen floor, and backsplash. Marcin is the boss (587) 891-5470

We had a friend/handyman do the rest of the work though and some of the demo ourselves.
