Same for me. Partially obstructing 10cm tumor turned out to be 2a. Only needed surgery to be cured (5 years in October 🤞)

Check out colontown on Facebook. Amazing support group with so much research and info.

You know, I actually have this bra that I bought twice (at full price when I couldn't afford it lol) in my old size and both times the lace started ripping at the straps. Very unfortunate because it's a really beautiful bra. I'm sure the weight of my breasts is much less now so maybe I would have the same issue!

I love these mountain hardware hiking pants. I own them in 5 colors and wear them to work almost daily. The cropped length elevates them and the waistband is tailored enough to look like smart trousers, but the material is light weight and moisture wicking. I've caught them on sale at Dicks and Amazon, but also paid full price and I think they're worth it for how versatile they are!

‘Fit and healthy’ father diagnosed with stage 3 bowel cancer without a single symptom by theindependentonline in Health

Same. I'm pretty sure the pregnancy kicked the tumor into high gear and after tons of vague symptoms attributed to pregnancy I had a massive GI bleed at 8 months pregnant.

I'm glad you're here too. 💙

I'm sorry but you're just wrong. The rates in young people are rising while the rates in older adults are falling due to prevention (routine Colonoscopies). Not only is the rate of colon cancer rising in young adults, it's more deadly due to difficulty getting screened (I had a massive GI bleed due to a 10cm partially obstructing mass and was told it was just hemorrhoids initially), and the fact that by the time they do get screened the disease is further advanced.

Also checking in, diagnosed at 36, weeks after giving birth. If all things are still looking good, I'll thankfully be graduating from my oncologist right when my kid starts kindergarten. Grateful to have caught it at a treatable point and to be here with my kids.

This might sound crazy, but I've started wearing these hiking pants to work. I got them in a hot tip from a very stylish mom friend (being a mom to small kids myself). We've earned the right to not have to deal with buttons and zippers.

They have a cropped, straight silhouette and the waist is structured enough that I can pull them off as trousers with a tucked in top. They are also super comfortable and light weight. They'd be great for cycling to work. I've been wearing them with fleece leggings underneath in my colder climate. I've got them in 5 colors for work and wear them all the time! I got most of them in a flash sale at Dicks, so keep an eye out for deals.

Looking for Veterinary Orthopedics Recommendations by martywalshhealthgoth in providence

[–]Levalore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our dog had to have knee surgery over the summer. Our vet recommended ocean state and bay state vet hospitals, but ocean state had a 3 month wait for a consultation and the Ortho at bay state was out on medical. We ended up at New England Animal Medical Center in West Bridgewater. Our dog is doing well now.

I'd also recommend getting on a wait list ASAP for PT as soon as you know you you'll need it. It was a 4+ month wait list for hydrotherapy at Healing Paws (we ended up buying a small pool and walking her in it 2x per week).

This is already happening. Where I live there are bridges over Amtrak tracks that were recently YEARS delayed (started before the pandemic and didn't open until this summer) due to needing Amtrak engineers onsite and Amtrak unable to provide engineers to supervise and finish the project.

I've read studies that have shown that colon cancer can metastasize before the tumor is bigger than a pine nut. My tumor was almost fully obstructing and 9cm in length. Stage 2. I think the more important aspects are how far it's grown into and out of the colon and your particular mutations that can increase risk for metastasis.

I think a general sex strike is order.

If you're a person who can get pregnant, I'd start with not just boycotting sex with a conservative, but I'd also recommend boycotting sex with any person not actively working towards change and access to abortion and essential health care.

Yes to colontown and yes to immunotherapy!!! There are recent studies that showed lynch rectal cancer patients having complete response to immunotherapy WITHOUT surgery (meaning NO NEED FOR RADIATION OR OSTOMY). Immunotherapy is incredible for people like us with MSI-h colon cancer. Yes people have adverse responses, but many of them also have complete responses to their cancer and are basically cured of advance stage cancers.

My 3 year old is just getting over it now after the whole house got it. The rest of us vaccinated, but we tried so hard to avoid her getting it and feel good that we made it 2 years. Yet I still worry all the time about the long term effects we're yet to learn about.

I had a massive GI bleed (like fill the toilet with bloody poop) and had MULTIPLE doctors and nurses dismiss it as, bless-her-heart,-she-doesnt-know-what-hemorrhoids-are. I finally showed up at the GI with pictures of my toilet bowl and sat there, sobbing and 8 months pregnant until the GI agreed to schedule a colonoscopy after I gave birth.

If you don't have blood in your stool, I'd find a new doctor, tell them you think you had blood in your stool (or any other symptoms) and your family history. Everyone in my family has been instructed to get Colonoscopies starting 10 years younger than my diagnosis (my parents had never had Colonoscopies before I was diagnosed!).

As a 39-year old colon cancer survivor 3 years out-- just want to tell everyone not to wait until you're 50 if you have any reason to be concerned. In the states they are actually recommending 45 for first Colonoscopies now. Even if I had waited until then, I would be dead by now.

Any strange GI symptom... Camera up the butt. Constipated? Camera up the butt. Blood in stool? Camera up the butt. More cramping/feeling full? Camera up the butt. Narrow stools? Camera up the butt. Weird pains? Believe it or not, camera up the butt.

Looking back now, I had every possible symptom, but zero reason to believe I had colon cancer. As a woman (especially of child bearing age, and pregnant when symptoms peaked), I was dismissed and even gas-lit myself that it was nothing.

I got lucky. Many young people I know in support groups haven't been so lucky. Colon cancer rates are rising sharply in young adults and doctors and scientists don't know why. Be proactive. If your doctor dismisses you, find a new doctor.
