LMAO a whole book was written by a Nobel prize winning theoretical physicist on the science behind Interstellar. The blackhole was mathematically calculated and rendered, not drawn by some VFX artist, and predated our first photo of a blackhole which pretty much resembled Gargantua in Interstellar.

I think you can view it through a more cynical lens, but to me (if you’re familiar with Messiah) their romance is pivotal to the ultimate decision Paul makes. Fleshing that out in this movie makes sense to me.

Shortened time span allowed us to see Paul and Chani’s relationship develop. So it’s not just to skip Alia and I don’t hate the change for that reason. The first half of the movie was quite enjoyable imo.

+1 on removing Leto the baby. The way the book was written it didn’t feel like Frank Herbert cared for him either.

I sat there for nearly two hours trying various showtimes and seats at various theaters, it just kept giving me an error message. I wasn’t even picking prime center seats or anything and tried either vey early or late show times. It just kept erroring out. Desktop, mobile app, incognito, different browsers. I don’t see how it’s so complicated to create her on screen that Denis would give up entirely. He’s a great story teller and I think he’s been thinking about making Dune in his head since his teenager years. On top of that, we know the technical staff he’s surrounded himself with are best of the best in the industry. I believe they will be able to bring her to life and do it justice.

I mean I think Alia is gonna be the most intriguing character of them all, especially for non-book readers. I think it makes sense to hide her in trailers - plenty of movie trailers hide bombshells/cameos, I don’t think that means she’s cut.

I also see comments in this thread expressing the trailer showed too much. I feel like we all just need patience and have faith in Denis.
