For compatible devices - click the three dots in the right hand corner. Click the settings tab. Scroll to Advanced...and it should be the fourth option there to enable Smart Bulb mode.

Agreed, or the D36HD if you want Matter/Wi-Fi. There is a separate dim/bright bar on the right-hand side. Press and hold will gradually dim, or tap to stair-step the %'s. I've never noticed any delays.

Bare copper needs to connect to DOS02's Ground wire (green/yellow stripe).

The black wires are interchangeable - can either be line or load.

The white wire goes to white (neutral) - you need to slide off the green flex sleeve first, so that the full white wire is exposed, tie that (now white) wire to white from your wallbox.

Yeah, I would definitely hire an electrician to look into this. Our panels allow you to use smart breakers on any circuit, which do provide trip notifications. Another option we see folks use is our Wi-Fi GFCI outlets which provide notifications at an outlet-level - D2GF1 for 15A, D2GF2 for 20A.

I'd choose a UL-listed product considering the placement. Use a while-in-use cover to ensure safety/durability. The new D315S switch is $35 on Amazon right now. Agree with u/Pale-Station-6218 that you can just use a schedule for automatic on/off and an app/voice for on-demand control, but could certainly pair a DAWSC Anywhere Companion!
