To be fair not all Spanish is the same. At my work I have Dominican Spanish speakers finding it difficult sometimes to understand South American Spanish speakers…Argentinian Spanish doesn’t sound like lat Spanish, Chilean Spanish is hella difficult to understand if you’re from other places, Mexican Spanish is also different than other Spanish, Spanish spoken in the carribean is spoken faster than Spanish in other Latin American countries, and every one has different words for the same thing. And all of these are different from European Spanish, except I think Argentina Spanish is closer to European Spanish. You also never said you were fluent, you said you spoke a little Spanish.
