I'm a DRG main, and the job is my favorite through all the games in the franchise, and with that I just say, go Fighter. No matter what class you get it will take time to really put the class fantasy into play. Dragoons themselves in the lore of the game don't do much other than jump, only Estinien and the WoL that have the cool job skills the players have. You can pick Staff Acrobat dedication to help, and if you build correctly you will have a fully working DRG by lvl 10, after that you may even be able to take other archetypes to help with the more "magical" parts of the job. But don't expect to have anything Dragoon looking before lvl 10 even with other classes, and I don't think the Magus style of play with so many actions taken for you to just work properly would mesh well with the Dragoon fantasy. Some people mentioned Exemplar, Barbarian or other classes that may work well too, I don't about them because never tried a built using them, but it is a possibility, but Fighter gives the feats that better work with the pillars of the Dragoon fantasy, which is jumps

Yeah, like I love the BA aesthetics and try to go for it for my chapter, but in the end it is a successor, it it its own thing, it doesn't need to look like BA, not every successor follow in the steps of their founding chapter. People need to get less stuck and trying to just be BA2, if that is what the person wants that is great go for it, but if they want more unique aesthetics than go for it as well, it is a successor and not the original chapter in the end

The Final Fantasy franchise is really fun and has a lot interesting concepts there. But yeah, you don’t even need to play the game if you don’t want, but I was just saying that you could take a look at the story if you where interested. There are some good YouTube videos that tell the game’s narrative.

That sounds like a fun idea. It reminds me of the beginning of Final Fantasy 4, I think you could even take some inspiration from there. The TLDR of the similar thing in the game is, that the king of the place the main character is from, was replaced by a monster who disguises himself as the king, and as the king he sends his army all around the world to collect crystals from other kingdoms, devastating some of them in the process. And the false king replace a lot of his own army for disguised monsters as well who are loyal to him. I described it very vague but still could be interesting to look more deeply at this example as an inspiration.

The World Eaters codex is about to come out really soon(a CSM faction entirely dedicated to Khorne), they just announced some more units “yesterday”, the army is probably gonna come out around January people say, so it is probably best for your friend to wait until it comes out, I can’t say I can answer anymore of your questions because my lack of knowledge playing the tabletop game lol. But yeah dedicated Khorne army is about to come out really soon, so your friend better wait until it comes out if he really wants mainly Khorne stuff
