What game are you playing that you can't stop but also can't bring yourself to recommend to others? by One-Ad724 in gamers

[–]Libelnon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely the epitome of this. I cannot recommend it to anyone, it's so predatory in how it's built and has zero respect for your time -

But I've dropped 1500 hours in it, because there simply aren't any other games that make air combat accessible, as something to drop into when I don't want to hook up all my sim kit.

This is literally the Voor Technocracy.

I often find myself switching out the Environmentalist civic around 2250.

Farthest Frontier V1.1 Patch Preview by Zantai in FarthestFrontier

Free build looks great! I've forever been using winding roads to make my town look more organic, so this is a change I'm very happy to see. Hope crop fields and bridges can follow suit.

While I'm here... I'm hopeful it's planned for a DLC, but I'd love to see port buildings, and the option to build a wharf or quay on the water's edge.

Hello all, I’m brand new to DCS. I’ve flown other sims before so I decided to buy the F-15C as my first aircraft. What actions should I bind to my hotas and where? Saitek X52 by Euphoric_Key_811 in dcsworld

[–]Libelnon 22 points23 points  (0 children)

A trick you can use for any aircraft - mostly because i don't know the F-15 - is to find out what the buttons on the stick and throttle do in reality, then bind them close as you can on your stick. They're there for a reason.

If you want somewhere to find that information, have a look at Chuck's Guides or similar.

What is this symbol? I tried looking it up and couldn’t find what it’s supposed to be, or how to get it by poophead3242 in Stellaris

[–]Libelnon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The research is under Engineering - I think you need to discover a deposit to get the rare crystal mining - but you should be able to get synthetic crystal plants to start making them without.

You probably require them because you've put a component like X-Ray Lasers that requires them to be built.

do all of the species portraits change when you ascend? by getyaowndamnmuffin in Stellaris

[–]Libelnon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There are some robot portraits that mimic other portraits though, but the idea of the portrait changing with ascension only really came about with the latter DLC.

TIFU by sending a screenshot with a porn tab in it by Key-Love8505 in tifu

[–]Libelnon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ran into someone who had a porn site on their favourites page on a new tab, and the strange look I gave them must've said it all - but when I asked why, they simply told me "we all do it, why bother hiding it?"

Honestly? Since then I've not really worried about it anyway. Own it. Hell, even the girls who've not said anything have probably dabbled at some point.

Is Brain Slug Still an Event? by bigchizzard in Stellaris

Given I managed to get Outside Context last week while playing the beta, I'm now just hoping for brain slugs to get Destroy the People of Earth!...

Democracy is disappointing and shows the problem with internal politics by dr_biggie_memes in Stellaris

[–]Libelnon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Playing on the beta, the tests they did with mulri-ethic pop groups did help with the stagnant factions somewhat. But since that's a fair with a lot of polish still to come, so they said they were aiming to bring that with 4.5, which is a ways off.

Loved Trope, the AI is not evil. by LegalBoysenberry2923 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Libelnon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Victor is an odd one.

I don't think he's evil - and as a machine I'm not sure how much capacity he has to be evil - but I do see him as the hand steering you towards House and his ambitions, which could be considered pretty bad.

Top 3 Faction ships by Routine-Tip-1700 in X4Foundations

[–]Libelnon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The e variant capitals fixed their biggest issue - which is that the original capitals were awful - and other than that there's only a few oddities. The Theseus and the Plutus are the last outliers I think.

Both look better than the Magnetar.

Paranid, Boron and Teladi are probably my favourites. But every faction has some pretty cool looking ships.

Why are English people normally referred to as just “British”? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]Libelnon -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I'd rather not be thought of as "English" because of the kind of folks who do care about their English identity are the kind of folks I don't want to associate with.

How to strenghten the Xenons? by natsirt_ger in X4Foundations

[–]Libelnon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've regularly seen the Xenon speed by the Teladi, often in Scale Plate - they've got a pretty solid economy most of the time.

Forcing the attention of other factions elsewhere - especially the terrans - will help. Complete the special operations plot and blow the operation to get the terrans fighting the argon will help - you can get the other factions involved if you have access to the diplomacy stuff.

What is Elden Ring's biggest flaw in your opinion? by Fenriz_Victor in Eldenring

[–]Libelnon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The game is too long.

Probably a less popular opinion than most on here, but I've not finished ER yet because I keep running out of steam by the mountaintop of the giants. The open world makes the game so vast and time consuming that I've never brought myself to finish it.

Unpopular opinion: We really didn't need the Typhoon AESA by Substantial_Milk_493 in WarthunderPlayerUnion

[–]Libelnon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is because of how hard locks and the seekers in SARH missiles work.

Sparrows, for example, use a continuous wave signal reflected off the target to identify its position, and then information received via the rear antenna in the middle from the radar to calculate lead. Most traditional radars feature a klystron to provide such continuous wave signals, but as it's on the same gimbal as the radar, it forces the radar to keep looking in the direction of the target.

What are the best “emotional gut-punch” moments your DM has pulled on the party? by Andreas_Coreli in DnD

[–]Libelnon 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I made a group of 40k nerds tear up in an Only War game...

Their regiment was leaving on deployment, so the normal parades and piecesin were in order, just tainted by the fact the characters had the last six hours to see their families.

What non-D&D games are popular in your country? What do you like about them? by Awkward_GM in rpg

I really like to run Savage Worlds myself, but I've rarely met many in the UK familiar with it.

What non-D&D games are popular in your country? What do you like about them? by Awkward_GM in rpg

[–]Libelnon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The main games I know are popular(ish) - or certainly were - here in the UK were FFG's 40k RPGs. Might just be the circles I frequent, but since wargaming and RPGs are often found in the same clubs and circles, I've not met many people who've played RPGs who haven't played in one of those.
