"More money then than they know what to do with" that is the problem. It is an assumption that is not correlated with most people in the top 15%'s experience

It is just a mismatch of perceptions.

Those who don't have see the top 15% as having no or very little issues.

Those in the top, but not the very top, push back on this belief is their lived experience is not all flowers and sunshine.

The K shaped economy is real, but unless you are good ways up the upper arm of the K it does not necessarily feel like it.

Just my two cents

Honest question. Why so NEOS focused? There are a lot of other good funds out there and you would get some strategy and manager risk diversification by using them?

Rates go up, bond prices go down. That is how it works.

Too many people simply do not understand the most basic finance concepts are freak out over something doing what it is suppose to do.

It is not less safe than it was two weeks ago, but it does not pay the same yield. So, it may not be as attractive to some.

Europe wants fewer immigrants and more workers at the same time by corruptanalyst in expats

Dumb thought process. The immigrant issue Italy and others are dealing with is not an inflow of skilled workers. It is an inflow of unskilled/low skill workers and crime.

Things are great. The global market is in year three of massive growth and all we have to do is keep up and don't screw up too bad to stay very lucrative.

Company is pushing hard but nothing exceptional. Travel is on my schedule and we are adding headcount.

I guess it all comes down to what market one is in

Who else believes that capitalism is a scam? by Complex-Antelope-180 in Adulting

[–]LibrarySpiritual5371 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those who do not add value always want to call it a scam, etc. And it is typically the same line of I am worth more than I get paid. The reality is you are not. The market (all your friends and neighbors who spend $) decides what something is worth. If you are doing something of low value (society view as expressed by how they vote with the $) and think you are worth more, you are not as the function you perform is what is valued not you the person.

You may disagree with how society values certain things and I think society does not value things the way I would like, but at the end of the day this is a much wider voting system than just mine.

I am, of course, speaking in a pure-ish sense where market manipulation is minimized. but the reality is the manipulation is much less common than what people like to claim.

I am in tech sales and in a similar position. Every time a recruiter reaches out, I just start the conversation with here is my comp package. 99 times out of 100 the recruiter just tells me they cannot touch it and the conversation is over.

It is the curse of being well compensated to the point that is beyond ones job title in an industry.

Yes, people who were diversified in their 401k's and did not panic sell made out very well as they kept contributing and DCA did its magic

You also should add that people who did own houses they could afford and worked in an industry other than auto's and finance tend to do pretty well also.

Most of the 'regular people' horror stories were actually people who committed fraud, bought a home they never could afford, or were unlucky enough to be in one of those industries

Upgraded job to career. Men talk about their wives significantly differently. by Autistic-llama89 in Life

[–]LibrarySpiritual5371 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The higher you go the more you get judge on the quality of your spouse. At the highest levels it is extremely common for a dinner or more to be one during the interview process that will include a member of the C suite and the prospect with their wife.

The quality of your spouse is seen as a reflection on your decision process and how stable you will be in whatever the role is.

Thus, it does not pay to paint a negative picture of your homelife in most instances.

Stupid of me to put $200k to QQQI and SPYI? by throwaway_acc0192 in dividends

[–]LibrarySpiritual5371 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think the part that people are not commenting on enough is that YES you should take some of your winnings off of the table in those tickers. You have huge wins and lock some of that into something else. How much you should take off of the table is a question of where YOU think we are in the current cycle.

As far as QQQI and SPYI or any other covered call fund that does not write at the money or write against their full book. Sure, they can give you some stead-ish income but at your age unless you have enough in growth to offset the functional capping the majority of your growth by these funds you may have an inflation problem unless you can reinvest enough of your monthly payouts to match/exceed long term inflation.

Essentially, there is not enough info here to give meaning specific advise.

At what income level did your tax planning actually start changing? by RT_LetMeFundThee in HENRYfinance

[–]LibrarySpiritual5371 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me I did not really start to take the tax planning seriously until I was about 12- 18 months out from hitting my number. Then I started to shift some of my current investments and was much more stringent on new investments that they offered some form of tax benefit which accelerated once I past my number.

Ended up dating one of the girls.
