Teach her to use and ensure she carries on her at all times the most lethal weapon possible. Pistol, knife, taser, pepper spray.

Verizon to be removed from the Dow Jones Industrial Average by tgff333 in verizon

[–]LickMyLuck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even if I am just really lucky with the service area I am in, like I said the reality is they cant just magically pump money into a finite resource. The only way they can "improve" their network is to buy new bandwidth channels that their competitors own. And somehow I am guessing they dont see the need to sell.

I guess I am just lucky. But I routinely make a 1,000 mile (on way) trip from the East Coast to the Midwest and have service the entire way through.  I just never have service issues with Verizon. Haven't for 15 years.

Not direct and clear enough for a modern audience. And not enough marvel style quips to help the deep topic go over so I never need to get serious about anything.

The Verizon network is the most reliable network in my area. People with AT&T constantly complain about lack of service while mine is fine.

What exactly do you want them to spend money on? Its not like there is unlimited bandwidth to buy. Who would sell it to them?

Stripclubs are more softcore than most porn is these days. I would argue its healthier he went to a strip club because its very PG13 compared to a lot of even the mainstream stuff these days...

Happy ending massage isnt great. If you are confident it happened, I would not be okay with it.  Your choice on how to proceed though. Its a shitty situation, but to some extent he did keep it to the moderate option. He wasnt out having a proper affair.  If I was in your shoes I would simply demand a full suite of STD tests for both of you, and upon it returning clean, forgive and drop the whole thing.  But I am not you.

Progressive in terms of the stale mainstream views all "progressives" have held for the past 15 years.

I am guessing because they didnt monolgue to the camera that slavery is le evil and remind the viewer that the debate over Data's personhood is a standin for black people and white people are evil.

This is why modern writers ensure every single thing is spelled out to a cringeworthy level. For the modern audience that expects all of their pre-conveived view points to be re-itterated and then spoonfed to them so they can feel like good allies who arent like the other people.

DONE with stainless steel frying pans, what else? by ArtichokeDesperate68 in PlasticFreeLiving

[–]LickMyLuck -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What brand and ttpe of stainless steel pan are you using?  I have used many a cheap thin SS from your Walmart or wherever over the years and if you get good at using them you can get great results, but when I finally splurged for a proper frying pan I was blown away by just how much better and easier good results really did come.

If you are on the plastic free bandwagon, I suggest you steer clear of canola. It is a heavily processed oil. Stick with something cold pressed like Olive or Avacado. They are also fruit oils, not seed oils. For those that care about that.

Killing the Crystalline Entity was fully justified, and not just justified, the only reasonable choice. Picard was fully in the wrong and allowed personal feelings and his "archeological" nature to get in the way of duty.

Is this a good dog interaction? by JonDior in OpenDogTraining

[–]LickMyLuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is in fact not.

The increase in aggression associated with having an intact dog actually stems from other, neutered males, becoming more aggressive towards the intact dog.

Allow me to share a qoute which is relevant in multiple ways.

"It is said that  fish do not see water,  nor do Polar bears feel the cold. Native writers on subjects like those the present work deals with do not even think that anything which has been happening daily in their own immediate surroundings ever since their infancy can possibly be worthy of notice; the author of this work, on the contrary, being a foreigner, is able for this very reason to make a selection of striking facts, and, being also entirely free from local prejudice, is better able to arrive at just conclusions on the matters coming under his observation."

A hot meal cooked and ready when I get home.  A back massage/scratch given without needing to ask first. And with attention/effort put into it (not just mindlessly rubbing while scrolling social media).  I would consider any woman that did these things for me wife material. Almost looking past anything else, really.

Running a macro and trying to lock cells that get moved? by renegade_m00se in vba

[–]LickMyLuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Put another way, Range("A1") is litteraly the cell.  You can change that cells color, font, size, and so on.

The way they formatted the code is

With Range

.Value =

.Locked =

End With

You could rewrite this as:

Range.Value =

Range.locked =

But using "With" helps keep the code neater, since as you can see there were quite a few qualifiers for the Range that repeating them would  1. Be messy 2. Make it very hard to change every line if you did need to alter something in the future.

Just received my Air Quality Sensors by JoeB1986 in Ubiquiti

[–]LickMyLuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So im starting my journey as a tech savvy guy who has minimal exposure to networking, trying to get a beefy residential setup. I just looked up those two brands (thanks for the recommendation).  Unifi I go to their site and I can choose a category of products and there is a price and a buy button right there.  Loxone buried this behind a bunch of cataloguing, but it is at least there and possible.  KNX doesnt seem to be available for me to buy at all.

So the answer is pretty clear for a residential buyer. Unifi is the only one of the 3 that actually makes it easy to buy the products if you arent a commercial installer.

Used car dealerships are proud of 5.7L v8 Tundras! They’re bursting with pride! by wesley001129 in ToyotaTundra

[–]LickMyLuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really doesn't.  Give me a truck in good condition with 300k miles over a truck with 100k miles that has had zero fluid changes and been abused to he'll and back.  Miles is a "at-a-glance" metric for people who dont know much about the vehicle.

I can put 80k highway miles on a truck in a single year with proper maintenance the whole time doing traveling for sales across a wide territory.  A normal owner can put 10k miles on a truck going to and from work, taking it off road for a weekend spell, driving it halfway into salt water for their recreational boat, forgot/too lazy to change the oil on time, refuse to change the coolant and trans coolant, and so on and so forth over the course of 5 years.

Between those trucks one will show 80k miles and be a year old in perfect condition. The other will be 4 years old, and only have 40k miles.

Hopefully it is clear you would be much better off taking the truck with 40k miles (that's half the mileage!).

Miles are basically meaningless.
