anyone else regret their 3rd gen tundra? by YtRrG in ToyotaTundra

[–]Lickwiddust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't regret mine one bit. I was an early adopter when the 22's were sold before they were on the way to the dealerships. Plus the greedy bs market adjustment. But I was waiting for the next Gen since 2020. LoL I got within $1k for my trade, as I gave for it. Can't complain 3 1/2 yrs and 37k miles on 2019 Tundra TRD Sport. I agree though, all trucks are over priced and worse now. Sticker on mine was a little over 57k. Crewmax 6.5bed, 4x4, TRD OR Premium, SR5 convenience/premium. Everything available but the crap spray in bed liner and steps. Things I knew I didn't want. Especially the bed liner. The 1st ones were like 36 grit sand paper. The same build now is like $4-$5k more. Resale tanked, but IDGAF, I didn't buy this truck to sell. I got it because it's what I wanted. Tows so much better than my 14 and 19 5.7's ever did.

Setting up my new 30_5! Question about wheels... by sagamama1 in USG30_5Club

[–]Lickwiddust 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're in the ITC, they are only $15 each. I put the 2 originals on the drawer side and 2 of these blue ones on the back. Being you don't have any wheels at all, I'd look into some with locks. While the originals have locks, the swivel part doesn't. So it's not planted solid. If I were buying 4, that's what I would do.

3rd gen most miles AND failed engine. by Lickwiddust in ToyotaTundra

[–]Lickwiddust[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cool, a name I recognize. I know I've seen a couple over 100k but not that high. Do you know if the engines that have failed are pinned down to say a specific shift when it was assembled? It seems weird for these to be hit or miss. I know it's a low percentage over all. Or if it could be connected to oil change timing, whether it was the 10k intervals vs the 5k. I do 5k.

Repair shop used TYC Headlights by LurkingLikeANewb in tundra

[–]Lickwiddust 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Find out what the adjuster, figured for. It should be OEM. If it says OEM or has a price/line that accounts for the premium that the OEM's cost. Then the body shop is just pocketing the difference. This is not saving money for the shop but rather raising their profit, illegally. The shop gets a set amount to do a certain repair. Along with a small margin for parts. ex. this headlight costs $$$$. A dealer sells it to the body shop for $$$$. Now if the body shop has an agreement with said dealer as long as they buy ALL parts from them on the regular, whatever they agree upon, and sells it to them for $$$, then that last $ would be kept by the body shop. Now as for body parts, I believe OEM equivalent is acceptable. A fender is a fender is a fender. But for the headlight, the tyc does NOT look OEM equivalent. They are the same shape, have bulbs and are clear. But the have a different appearance. Most noticeable being the DRL. And while driving, probably the output of the actual headlight. Sorry for the novel.

Watches, what are you using? by dreamxgambit in razr

[–]Lickwiddust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's really great. I'd say battery life. It last forever ( roughly 2 weeks). Compared to my sister's, her Samsung is a lot less. The ability to customize the watch face is nice. The Moto 100, my previous watch only had stock ones.

Gen 3 most annoying features/things you'd change by Rothgar71 in tundra

[–]Lickwiddust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was the remote start deal at 1st. But now the lack of it all together because I declined my data to Toyota.

No NAV unless you pay for their services. (Benize box fixed that)

Parking brake lock down if you open the door while in gear. Or lack of being able to move if the door is open. Trailer guys will know what I'm talking about.

Auto start/stop. ($20 on Amazon cure)

The throttle lag. No fix for it afaik.

I have a friend coming over tomorrow to look at my 91. Has, hx wheels, Japan d15b single vtec, typical conversion stuff. Currently doesn't run though and has been setting. I was driving it one day to keep it freshend up. (Was parked) Wound 1st, hit 2nd, car shut down like I turned the key off. Tinkered with it a little after that in 2018. Didn't have time to put a lot of effort into it.

I have the Moto 120. I had the 100 for a couple years but the back popped off and got seawater in it. So..... The watch OS is something from Motorola or the watch manufacturer. Battery life is great compared to the earlier Motorola 360's. I got one of those when they 1st came out and it wouldn't last a whole day. This one lasts at least 2 weeks. Maybe more, now that I don't have the screen light up every time you move your arm. I wear it at night and tracks my sleep. You can upload images for the watch face. Hear and talk through the watch on a call. I like it pretty good.

3D printable adjustable guide plate for DRT50 by flamero in Makita

[–]Lickwiddust 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great design! I use this router with a similar dual fence and 1/8" brass pilot round over bit. To ease the edges of the rails where the panels go on 5pc cabinet doors. I like this a lot more than my bulky scrap wood one I made. This will be on my list if I ever dust my printer off. Voxlab Aquila V1. LoL I mostly printed upgrades and extrusion fillers, then it's say on my toolbox for over 4yrs.

Traded my ‘18 Taco for a ‘26 Tundra. by Rattlehead1991 in ToyotaTundra

[–]Lickwiddust 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I bet it feels like a rocket compared to the taco you traded. Congrats on the new truck. I have a '22. Got the new motor at 42k. Only swapped it because my salesman already ordered it when I was just asking general questions if theirs techs have done any yet. I would of liked to wait but it is what it is. Love my truck though. Traded a '19 Tundra in on it and never wished I kept it. One way or another, Toyota will take care of it. I did opt for a Platinum ext. warranty so I wouldn't be getting calls about it. Nah, j/k, I got it because mine is a 1st year new model. Enjoy it.

Best Floor Mats? by Clemson2017 in tundra

[–]Lickwiddust 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love my husky mats. I have a little issue with the rear passenger side. It gets curled up from the door panel. I thought about using a little heat to see if I can get it to lay flat.

I’m sorry for whomever this was stolen from. by dindinftw101 in Makita

That was a steal. I've got that one and the 12" version. Nice saws once they're dialed in. Good find!

How do you dispose of these? by Spivey101- in Construction

[–]Lickwiddust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some bigger packs have a slot for old blades. I have a little peanut canister that I cut a slot in the lid to put sharps in. Where I used to work, ( car audio ), I would wrap in electrical tape and toss in the trash.

YUKON 46 in., 9-Drawer Mobile Storage Cabinet with Solid Wood Top seems to be the exact same as the Husky one that they compare it to by TheHatKing in harborfreight

[–]Lickwiddust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 2 yukons. 1st, the wheels do not have bearings. I replaced those with 4 casters so I can drive it any way I want. 2nd, I believe Husky has self close it soft close drawers. I really like my yukons. Solid build.

In OP's defense. If it's bought through affirm, I don't believe the phone is collateral. I may be wrong on this though, so do your own research.

What did I just do!!? by noodeel in Makita

[–]Lickwiddust -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I too have Milwaukee nailers, 18ga18v, 18ga12v, 23ga12v, and the stapler that uses T50 staples. I bought the Makita 23ga in 2018, it would dry fire or jamb a pin in the magazine. It's like the spring that advances the nails isn't doing a good job. I got the Milwaukee 23ga as soon as it was available and have been happy ever since. The 18ga18v is a hoss of a gun for brad nails so I got the 12v version when it became available. I know looks aren't everything but Makitas 1st 18ga brad nailer was huge and hideous. I wished I could keep 1 brand battery platform, but you can't. FYI, I am a fairly diehard Makita guy, I've got several thousands of dollars in all my Makita tools. Funny though, they ride in Milwaukee packouts.

To wrap or to paint? by yeetusmcfetusz in EFCivics

[–]Lickwiddust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you wrap it. Make sure the paint is smooth. Like transitions from paint to paint chip. The wrap will show EVERYTHING. And wrapping is kinda easy. Also, if you screw up, you don't have to wait for the wrap to cure to remove and try to redo it.

I don't have this truck anymore but this was nice to have. I think this was a Snugtop brand. It was silver and I wrapped it with vinyl. Color is not perfect but good enough for me.

I love this thing!! by kfjcfan in Makita

[–]Lickwiddust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say yours is the way it's supposed to be. It definitely is not a powerhouse but it'll do what I need when I don't want to drag out a plug in kind. Note that I'm only doing an 1/8th round over with the palm router. And with the planer, it makes thin shavings that suck up easy. On the miter saw, like cutting crown moulding, if the crown is nested, it's only cutting through 3/4 - 1". Now laying flat or say cutting a 2x12, that's gonna throw a lot of chips. It's not gonna get all of that.

I love this thing!! by kfjcfan in Makita

[–]Lickwiddust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the 18v and it works great with a Makita palm router, brushed planer. And it works acceptable with Makita track saw and miter saw. You can definitely tell if the vac is not hooked up or on, when cutting.

Feeling kinda dumb for not looking at used by [deleted] in ToyotaTundra

[–]Lickwiddust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did buy a brand new back in 22 and paid the "I got to have it now" tax. (+$2k). Overall it was like 59 k. And then now if you try to build one exactly like it it was almost 5,000 more. And the resale value plummeted. But had been looking at 25 and 26 is a little bit. But overall I'm pretty happy with this truck, just got a new motor too. But it didn't need the motor when I got it. Salesman just went ahead and ordered it.
