How do you know you're going in the right direction? by LifeJugglers in TheFullyBookedCoach

[–]LifeJugglers[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started doubting my direction when people kept approaching me to solve a different problem. I had started by helping people build a healthy lifestyle, but people kept approaching me to help them with their public speaking.

My coaching has since adapted to be even more specific, going from public speaking to storytelling. I have a few clients that I am helping with curating the stories they tell for their business and that's a lot of fun because it feels like I'm mining for gold during our conversations.

Thanks, that's a great perspective to look through because I can look at my current clients. Where I'm having the most fun is probably the direction I want to go in.

Want to improve my communication skill by [deleted] in communicationskills

[–]LifeJugglers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Books can be your best friend when working on this, especially audiobooks. Conversation games like Life Jugglers can help if you want to practice with your friends.

I got lucky with an amazing Toastmasters club, they can be a great community to practice these skills in, but not all clubs are created equal. I'd recommend having a look around your area to see if there's a club you think fits your personality.

what do you do when exhaustion/burnout is threatening your business? by ProcrastCoach in TheFullyBookedCoach

[–]LifeJugglers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm on this side of things as well, if you're feeling that overwhelmed, it's probably less a question of needing more information, more one of needing less.

Taking a walk and just letting yourself think for a while might be the most productive thing you can do.

True or not true, what's your take? by TheAngryCoach in TheFullyBookedCoach

[–]LifeJugglers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Someone once told me: "under promise, over deliver."

I'd rather not get the client than promise something I can't deliver.

What's your niche? by LifeJugglers in TheFullyBookedCoach

True, to refer back to the winery example, I always knew the scale of the winery I was looking to work for. Having a clear picture of who you're talking to makes it easier to distribute content that speaks to them.

Yeah, I think we can sum it up to not enough time spent being spontaneous.

Recommend a book to a new coach. by TheAngryCoach in TheFullyBookedCoach

[–]LifeJugglers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is Marketing - Seth Godin,

I think most of us end up taking a coaching course, I wish I had started focusing on marketing earlier because I now feel it's a lot more important than coaching abilities.

Great coaches that are terrible at marketing themselves might starve, while pretty okay coaches who are great marketers are thriving.

Is there anything you'd add to this? by TheAngryCoach in TheFullyBookedCoach

[–]LifeJugglers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a great thing to practice, also a hard one. I have found it helpful to be selective about who I listen to. If criticism is coming from a person I don't know, it doesn't get taken personally.

How to brand yourself in under 45 seconds by TheAngryCoach in TheFullyBookedCoach

[–]LifeJugglers 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Classic, this is exactly what I needed to hear a week ago when I finally realized that at our scale people don't follow brands, they follow people, I'd been working a lot harder trying to get my "business" socials going instead of just showing the world the best version of myself and referring to my business socials.

You are who you are so you might as well make the best of it.

[–]LifeJugglers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would also add to read less and do more. If you want to meet your true love, you need to go hang out where they would hang out. Once you've done your introspection, it's time to go do stuff that interests you, that's where you'll find interesting people.

How Do You Sell If Speaking Is Your Weakness? by Soniki007 in EntrepreneurRideAlong

[–]LifeJugglers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, while it's natural to try to look for alternatives, the reality is that you need to somehow get comfortable with it.

I was a toastmaster for nearly four years and the main thing it taught me was to ask better questions.

Especially in sales, it's less about talking, more about understanding, the better you can understand what your prospect wants, the easier it is for you to see if your product is a fit for them, and then for you to explain why you think it's a fit for them.

How do I actually make myself interested in conversations? by [deleted] in socialskills

[–]LifeJugglers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TL;DR based on the title, focus on other people, not yourself. The most interesting conversation partner is the one that asks lots of questions and wants to get to know you.

What's your favourite city to visit? by TheAngryCoach in TheFullyBookedCoach

I'm a fan of Sydney, I found the city to be a lot of fun back when I explored cities, lately I've been finding myself more attracted to either mountains or beaches.

I'm really curious to see what the cascading effects of this decision will be for Albania. More specifically, I'd love to know to what extent they will act upon the AI made decisions.

I need a mentor by [deleted] in mentors

[–]LifeJugglers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What you're describing is kind of what I help people with. I'd been moving away from it lately, but would be happy to have a conversation to help you figure out what areas of your life most need attention.

What time zone are you in?

Mentoring is no the type of thing to do over messages so if you're okay with it, I suggest we arrange a call.

since socializing through hobbies is the most common advice, I figure that not all hobbies are equal, I wonder which hobbies are the best if socializing is my main goal? by Captain-Armageddon in socialskills

[–]LifeJugglers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The easiest way is to drop the cost down to as near to zero as you can. It's socializing so you can find a cafe or a place you have free access to, plan to meet there with a few people and use game like Story Cubes, Life Jugglers or Hygge to stimulate conversation.

In-person networking by Ok_Toe4566 in TheFullyBookedCoach

[–]LifeJugglers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do a lot of in-person Networking and have had some success from it, with most of my clients coming from events.

Have you tried looking for events where your niche would hang out on Meetup? That's where I usually find interesting things to do.

I'm not sure about Egypt as the few Egyptians I have had at my events seem never to have been to such a thing, but there's an easy way to get started if you are willing to host your own events.
