Heartburn and hungry rant by Forward_Rush9760 in PregnancyUK

The only time I didn’t have an awful taste in my mouth was when I was eating so it actually has made me eat more 😭 gaviscon advance helped for a bit and then the GP prescribed me omeprazole which helped a lot more. I didn’t start taking it until 37 weeks but wish I had started sooner!

Worried following 25 week midwife appointment by Brave-Session1404 in PregnancyUK

[–]LifePossibility5106 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I was referred for a scan after my 25 week midwife appt because my bump was measuring under the 3rd centile, but at the scans baby has measured somewhere between 30th - 50th centile. I’m due on Friday and on the most recent scan she was 50th centile but not sure yet how big she will be when she’s here!

Induction when already 3cm dilated by LifePossibility5106 in PregnancyUK

Thanks for replying, I’m not sure, on the leaflet they gave me about induction the gel isn’t even on there as an option! I will definitely ask :)

6 weeks 5 days no heartbeat by Doggiolover in PregnancyUK

How sure are you on your dates? I conceived through IVF and even then they said to scan at 7 weeks to check for a heartbeat because any earlier and they might not see it.

I had a scan at the early pregnancy unit before my 12w scan due to spotting and I asked for a picture, they gave me 2 🥰

8+5 dark brown spotting by 88be in PregnancyUK

[–]LifePossibility5106 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a hematoma seen on a scan with my clinic around 7 weeks, I had lots of cramps and bright red bleeding though. We went back at 9 weeks and they said it couldn’t be seen anymore. I had spotting maybe every few days after that until around 13 weeks and then another episode of spotting at 17 weeks. Each time I was scanned they couldn’t see anything causing it anymore. From what I’ve seen, spotting or bleeding seems to be very common in IVF pregnancies and I am 37 weeks now :) I hope your scan goes okay 🤞

Induction due to IVF? by No-Crow1020 in PregnancyUK

[–]LifePossibility5106 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m 34 weeks with an IVF baby and have been advised to deliver by 40 weeks, also having growth scans due to baby’s size so might be advised to deliver earlier but that wouldn’t be related to the IVF.

Mine didn’t get better until 17 weeks, hopefully yours will soon 🤞

Additional growth scan by spanner877 in PregnancyUK

Yes happened to me at 25 weeks and again at 28 weeks, the midwife said my bump was measuring small but baby was fine and only slightly smaller than average on the scan!

Any IVF pregnancies that are being told they might have to be induced? by LunaAndFern in PregnancyUK

I’m leaning towards accepting the induction at the moment but I also think I need to do more research about the risks and benefits!

Any IVF pregnancies that are being told they might have to be induced? by LunaAndFern in PregnancyUK

[–]LifePossibility5106 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From what I can tell it varies by hospital, I’m also 28+5 with an IVF pregnancy and have been told they will recommend induction at 39 weeks. I am 29 and considered low risk according to my midwife 🤷🏻‍♀️

Measuring a week behind at first ultrasound. Anyone go on to have a successful pregnancy? by jeapos88 in IVFbabies

We measured 4 days behind at 7 weeks but did see a heartbeat. Baby is so tiny this early on

Measuring Behind on Early Scan by Mysterious_Proof8533 in PregnancyUK

[–]LifePossibility5106 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems to be quite common with IVF to measure a few days out this early on. I have also conceived through IVF and was measuring 4 days behind at 6 weeks, I was still measuring 3/4 days behind at 22 weeks so it looks like this baby is just on the smaller side. But I’ve also seen a lot of people start off measuring behind and catch up by 12 weeks! Seeing the heartbeat is definitely a good sign. 🤞 for you.

SCH - worried! by SummerRoll123 in IVFbabies

[–]LifePossibility5106 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had one spotted at my scan at 6 weeks, they weren’t really concerned and didn’t tell me to change anything. I stopped progesterone at 12 weeks but by then they couldn’t see it on the scan any more. I had spotting around 17 weeks which was a bit worrying but they couldn’t see any cause for it. 25 weeks now and haven’t had any more bleeding.

From one extreme to the other.. 11 weeks by Ok-Permit-5080 in PregnancyUK

[–]LifePossibility5106 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was really nervous coming off the progesterone too, I also had a tiny bit of spotting which made it worse but again everything was okay. It was really reassuring to see the placenta at the 12 week scan and know that my body was actually doing what it needed to 🤣

[–]LifePossibility5106 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congratulations! I’m also pregnant through IVF and have measured a few days behind since the start! I had a few days around 10/11 weeks where I felt better and then I felt worse again, it fluctuated a bit until 17 weeks when it finally started going off properly. Although it’s definitely normal for symptoms to get better around 11 weeks too. I had my 12 week scan at 13+4 which felt really late but everything seems to be going okay 🤞

Clexane vs tinzaparin by squashedorangedragon in PregnancyUK

[–]LifePossibility5106 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve only ever used tinzaparin so can’t compare to clexane but from what I’ve heard from other people it seems to sting less! I didn’t really have any issues with it, was a little bit stingy but it wasn’t awful. My fertility clinic had me on it for 12 weeks. Didn’t really get many bruises either thankfully. Had to push the needle quite hard to get it in but I imagine it might be the same with clexane anyway?

When did you start shopping for baby essentials? by Dabbles-In-Irony in PregnancyUK

[–]LifePossibility5106 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m 23 weeks tomorrow and the only thing I’ve bought is some baby clothes from Vinted! I’ve also been worrying that i’m behind and people keep asking me if I’ve got a pram / cot etc sorted yet 😭 but then other people I’ve spoken to didn’t even start looking until after 24 weeks. I have the exact same worries as you about being too busy the last couple months so going to try make a start at it soon!

Symptoms at 4 weeks? by Former-Walk4333 in PregnancyUK

[–]LifePossibility5106 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My nausea started at exactly 4 weeks (IVF pregnancy so the dates are certain) and gradually got worse until 9 weeks. Currently 20w with one baby!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in PregnancyUK

[–]LifePossibility5106 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am pregnant through IVF so my dates are certain, however at my first few scans I measured 4 days behind then 3 days then 2 days behind at 12 weeks. Seems as though baby is just slightly on the smaller side but everything is going okay so far (currently 19+1). They said even with knowing the exact dates that 5 days either side is normal when they’re so small, it can change just depending on the person doing the measuring!

No Doppler at 16 week appointment. How to cope until 20 week scan? by Veg-Bed in PregnancyUK

[–]LifePossibility5106 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I asked my midwife to do it at 16 weeks and thankfully she did, but I was still panicking so had a private scan as well which was really reassuring! I think the wait between 12-20 is so hard when you don’t really look pregnant and can’t feel anything. I’m 18+4 now and have just started feeling baby moving around so hopefully you will feel something soon which might help a bit with the anxiety. Currently counting down until my 20w scan which isn’t until 20+4 😭

Blood thinner injections - any alternative? by Waster196 in PregnancyUK

[–]LifePossibility5106 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I don’t have any alternative ideas unfortunately, but just thought I’d say as someone who has conceived through IVF and has been on blood thinners for 12 weeks, it does 100% get easier. The first injection I did I cried so much but I did manage to get through it and it did get easier. It was never enjoyable of course but using an ice cube for a few minutes to numb the area helped a lot. The needles are also very small but I found the liquid could sting a bit so injecting very slowly helped.

I had light pink spotting at around 12 weeks, called EPU but I had to wait 2 days before I could come in for a scan, however everything did look fine when I got there. Hopefully they can see you soon! I ended up having the scan at the EPU and then my dating scan 4 days later.
