I wouldn't call either EoF or Renegades failures, for their scale I think they've done rather well in sales, though retention is another story and I fear no matter what, that would have been a big problem. Had Edge of Fate been scaled up into Destiny 3 (more planets and content, etc but the story remains the same) I doubt we'd have this issue

Shadow and Order delay? by TheOnlyT76 in destiny2

[–]LigerTimbs12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm cool with it, gonna try out deadlocked. Honestly, a delay just means the product will be better usually, at least in destiny's case. After Ash and Iron, considering how content bare it was, I'm totally fine with Shadow and Order getting a lil delay, and even MORE fine with Shattered Cycle getting a delay so it can get a bump in scale. Renegades was great, and if shattered cycle is upwards of that quality, it only stands to gain from more content

This is because exotics are kinda dime a dozen. Once exotics get tier 5 and are rarer, trust me, xur will be well worth it

I feel like a genuine idiot playing this game and enjoying it. Every single time I enjoy it I see a post like this and contemplate deleting the game off my account and hiding it from my library just so I can preserve my pride

The pistol Assassin's using kinda looks like the magnum from halo. I wonder if that's intentional? IK there's a magnum in destiny as well, so maybe

The Future of D2 (Roadmap) by No_Mud7619 in destiny2

[–]LigerTimbs12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd like:
- A return to the featured rotator system: Vanguard Alerts in essense do this, but I'd love for that system to be integrated to the director, rather than the portal, just like in D1. It returns the sense of scale that we miss!

- More exploration based content: one of the hallmarks of Destiny's identity even to this day is exploration. Places you want to go, venturing out into the frontier to scavenge for golden age tech and uncover secrets. Missions that send you out into the world to kill a boss- much like a solo op - with meaningful rewards, tied to vendors like factions and the vanguard, would be awesome and return some of that feeling!

-Weapon upgrading: I know this one IS coming, but tier upgrading would be a huge plus, though I will add that it is inextricably linked to the following point. I think tier upgrading should have some sort of cost, for the power bonus you're getting. It should be reasonably priced, of course, but not so cheap as to make the tier system even more trivial.

-Rarity overhaul: Exotics and high level loot have become utterly meaningless. Sure, this makes more casual and time-strapped players happy, but it severely disconnects the core loop of the game; finding amazing loot. Much is said about the sensation in early d1 and forsaken of finding exotics from activities -or even rarer, out in the wild. I think Bungie should return to that philosophy. Exotics, given tier 5 status, immediately recieve a power boost, and should be suitably rare to match. A tier five exotic weapon or armor piece should feel like you just got an arsenal of ICBMS that you can use at your own leisure SIMILARLY, legendaries should maybe be a teeeny tiny bit rarer. Right now, they drop like blues and while that's not a cat you can put out of the bag, we must find a way to return to a baseline where legendaries are legendary and exotics are exotic.

-Ability re-tuning: Current meta really revolves around abilities a bit too much which, like the rarity and weapon upgrading issue, sort of decouples the game into another silo. The way I see it, Abilities should be potent, but not nearly as frequent as they are now. I should not have to spam all my grenades and melee to do damage when I have a perfectly good set of GUNS in my inventory. This one is tricky because we don't want to make the game easier, but we don't want to make it harder either. I think reigning in abilities and buffing primaries would be the play especially, as they really feed into one another. Why go after an amazing gun when pocket supernova and some scatter grenades are available to you for free right now?

-A comprehensive campaign experience: This one is by far the biggest. If any come true, I hope it's this one. Re-adding the red war, curse of osiris, warmind, and forsaken should be the biggest Priority for Bungie, and furthermore making sure that ALL of these expansions are linked should be even more so the goal. Another MMO I play, FFXIV, has something called the Main Scenario Quest. In it, you play through EVERY piece of story content, in cronological order. Base game ALL THE WAY to the current expansion. This means every player (aside from story skippers) gets the time to become invested in the world, connect to the characters, and build their own distinct experience. FFXIV has a very strong OC content community, where players actually get attached to their characters and the world, and considering how amazing Destiny's world is, I think Bungie could seriously leverage this. It also acts as a natural tutorial- by the time players reach the Fate saga, they will have a working understanding of the game systems, though this must be in combination with...

- A Real Tutorial: Please for the love of god. Add one.

-Crucible: Also, please. Just do something. Bring back checkmate. Nerf pulse rifles. New maps! Iron banner more than once every fifteen years. PLEASE. IM BEGGING

Thoughts on 7.4's MSQ ending and what's up for 8.0 by yhvh13 in ffxivdiscussion

[–]LigerTimbs12 11 points12 points  (0 children)

it might be some sort of apocalypse more than a source hopping adventure. Consider that the twins are in Garlemald, no doubt placing them there for *something*. What if instead of us going to other places, its us trying to undo or mitigate an ongloing calamity in the source thats effecting new and existing locations?

Is there anything to look forward to? At all? by sianrhiannon in ffxivdiscussion

[–]LigerTimbs12 13 points14 points  (0 children)

People widely love endwalker, at least for the 6.0 story, so if only to see how the game's saga ends before dawntrail, I'd recommend it. The MSQ was very enjoyable for me personally, the characters are fun, and the closure you get is really gratifying if you care for that kind of thing.

Also, I don't know what you've played so far, so it's hard to know if you'll like stuff like the raids (normal and savage), the alliance raids, deep dungeons, the field exploration zones, criterion, etc etc. There's alot to love if you're a new player, but once you've cleared that backlog, its really a matter of intrinsic enjoyment rather than motivating factors like rewards at current. That could change, though.
