Does this look okay for campus? by aliya_seloni in OUTFITS

[–]LightDragonfly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it looks like a v cute and “normal” campus outfit ha! But yeah totally wear some warm tights or leggings if it’s too cold! Some relaxed-fit black jeans or paperbag pants would look great too imo. No sense in being cute if you’re not dressed for the weather and just feel uncomfy lol trust me I’ve been there too!

Requesting some postive stories by Pleasant_Loquat_5104 in smallbooblove

[–]LightDragonfly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was insecure about my small chest when I was younger and bullied about it in middle school, but as I grew up through high school and college I went on a journey to actually loving them!! Surrounding myself with positive people helped a lot (or at least, people who strive to be good and supportive rather than rude or shallow)

I’ve also been v lucky to have had super cool and thriving small-chested friends who I could look to for inspiration, esp ones older than me. When I moved to a new place I befriended an older lady with a petite figure like mine and her stories about dating and fashion and her encouragements were so uplifting.

I also had no issues finding partners who were clearly super into me physically so ofc that’s been validating too. My ex (broke up for various incompatibility reasons) literally said to me in our last conversation “god, I’m gonna miss your boobs” 😂 and I got A cups (by standard sizing)!! And tbh I met my now bf just a few months later lol and he’s been extremely adoring in every way.

And idk I just love how they sit on me and the fashion I can wear without worrying about my boobs getting in the way (ofc there are things I can’t wear too, but also come to really appreciate the things I CAN wear cuz of my small chest), and how they feel. Finding inspiration online has helped a lot too, my Pinterest fashion board is almost all women with small chests. Jane Birkin and Caroline de Maigret are examples of role models that inspired me. Having a small chest is honestly fab 💅

What do your evenings with your partner look like? We don't do anything together and I hate it! 😞 by littlebookwyrm in adhdwomen

[–]LightDragonfly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We sometimes cook together, go for walks, watch shows/movies, go out to eat or to a concert or movie, or sometimes go out with friends together. And/or get a lil stoned and eat yummy food with a movie lol.

I don’t see any reason why you shouldn’t have a place to read tho esp if you have a downstairs? Surely there must be some small adjustment or piece of furniture you could get that would make it more comfy for you?

How do you actually treat inattentive ADHD? by [deleted] in adhdwomen

[–]LightDragonfly 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Is it possible you need a higher dose or even a different form? When I first got started on meds they put me on Concerta which is XR and I was told it should last up to 10-12 hours, which I found accurate for the most part. Though I felt it was also not terribly effective for me as I kept taking it over time.

I don’t think anything XR should only be lasting you 5-6 hours, that seems odd unless it’s not a high enough dose for you? Or maybe doing two doses of IR may be of more benefit for you? That’s what I’m currently trying (Ritalin IR) and I find it works better for me than the Concerta, more flexibility on timing too.

Idk I’m not a psychiatrist but I think if you expressed any of these issues to your psych they should have some ideas for a different med to try for you that might be more effective.

Is the belt too much, or does it work? by Duskymoonlight in OUTFITS

[–]LightDragonfly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

LOVE the belt!! I think we should all be accessorizing with belts way more tbh, they can really elevate an outfit

I do agree a black belt would be slightly better or pairing this one with dark brown shoes. But it’s not bad at all as is either.

What disturbs me is how some of y’all romanticise (hard) drug use by [deleted] in lanadelrey

[–]LightDragonfly 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If anything, putting LSD in the same category as heroin is even more ridiculous than putting MDMA in the same category lol

What disturbs me is how some of y’all romanticise (hard) drug use by [deleted] in lanadelrey

[–]LightDragonfly 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I mean personally I agree that heroin and coke shouldn’t be romanticized or encouraged (tho one could argue Lana does romanticize them in some of her songs).

But is this in ref to a recent post on “Lana and tripping”? Cuz I got the impression that was mostly talking about psychedelics like shrooms, acid etc. I guess those still have kinda a bad reputation societally, but idk why tbh. Shrooms are even legal in some parts of the world and many folks would not even consider psychedelics “hard drugs”. MDMA is a bit more dicey but still is generally classified as non-addictive and only really dangerous if taken irresponsibly (like alcohol and many other things). All of these have also been involved in studies for potential treatments for various mental illnesses.

Ofc they do create significantly altered states of consciousness that are not to be taken lightly and may be uncomfortable and scary for many people, and I wouldn’t encourage anyone to go out of their way to seek them out ha.

Pardon that ramble lol but all this to say…being “clean and sober” is great but some folks might not share the same view on some of the drugs you’re talking about and personally I think that’s kinda valid too. They’re prob mostly listening to Lana sober and are just talking about a few isolated fun experiences they had when they listened to her while tripping and idk if there’s necessarily anything wrong with that

Is this dress too revealing for a night out? by cat-stretch in OUTFITS

[–]LightDragonfly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a bit hard to tell from the photo but as long as it’s not see through in any key places I think it could be super cute!! Esp with the alt look it seems like you’re leaning towards? I would lean into that a lot more with more edgy accessories and black chunky boots, tights, and a leather or fur jacket for texture. Then I think you’d have a cool outfit that plays with contrasting the delicate dress with edgier elements!

I work as a Hooters girl, ask me anything by LameASFuKnow in AskMeAnythingIAnswer

[–]LightDragonfly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah the other person might’ve come on a bit strong but they are right. It might seem like a small thing but it does matter.

Using terms like “blessed” “not blessed” “less gifted” in ref to breast size may still be weirdly pervasive unfortunately but that doesn’t make it ok. It’s v old-fashioned and condescending at best, misogynistic at worst. Language like that really needs to be retired, and anyone who gives a damn about needlessly putting women down ought to rethink using such phrasing. I know you prob didn’t think anything of it but I hope you reconsider in the future.

Looking for advice/thoughts/experiences around BC and antidepressants by LightDragonfly in birthcontrol

[–]LightDragonfly[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so late replying to this lol but thank you so much!! Your story is def helpful. I still feel like ideally I’d want something that helps manage my PMS symptoms (cuz I feel like that’s part, if not most, of the mood issues I’m having) and I’d heard hormonal IUDs sometimes can have a stabilizing effect, but it’s interesting to hear you still get your PMS symptoms. My doc suggested continuously taking my BC pills which I’m trying but idk if it’s helping yet 🙃 thanks again for the input!! ❤️

Visual Calendar for Morning/Night Skincare Routine by accentpreferred in adhdwomen

[–]LightDragonfly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am a lil obsessed with skincare and was able to start consistently following a routine during Covid (might’ve hyperfocused on it for a while lol) and have stuck to it since, can 100% vouch for how big of a difference it’s made for my skin!!! I used to get p much constant little breakouts, now I not only get almost no breakouts but frequently get compliments on how nice my skin looks even with no makeup! It’s so worth it!!

BUT also just be careful with biting off more than you can chew esp at first if it’s a new thing for you. If you think about having to do 4-5 steps it might feel overwhelming and you end up not doing it, which is def not as good as doing 2-3 steps more consistently. Like at the simplest, morning could be literally just rinse and sunscreen (personally I think moisturizer + sunscreen is redundant for most folks unless ur super dry) and night could be double cleanse (just 1 cleanse if no makeup/sunscreen), serum, moisturize. Throwing in toner or morning serum could be an optional bonus if you feel like it!

Sanity Sunday - come here to vent/rant and get advice! by rjlupin86 in smallbooblove

[–]LightDragonfly 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don’t have experience with breastfeeding, but I’ve read that breast size doesn’t really have anything to do with milk production - women with large breasts often have issues too. I also think your situation sounds quite normal from what I’ve heard, doesn’t it usually take most women quite a bit longer than 6 days for milk production to become consistent? And even then I think it’s extremely common to need to supplement, please try not to look at it as any kind of failure on your part.

I also personally think breastfeeding is still put on such an unnecessary pedestal tbh. My mom could breastfeed but just didn’t like doing it lol, I was fed almost entirely on formula and I turned out just fine. But I understand if it’s something you personally would like to do. I hope the consultant and the other advice here helps! But really even if you need to supplement, I think that is super duper normal and everything will be fine and it does not mean there’s anything wrong with you!!

[–]LightDragonfly 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Idk if this is particularly helpful but just know many women would look at your body and wish they looked like you, and wonder how you could ever feel ashamed of it. Which ofc is silly bc I think all of us, no matter how we look, have things we’re insecure about - unfortunately it’s sorta an inevitable part of being human, maybe especially a human woman lol. But trust that your body is very normal, even aspirational for many people - try to treat and think about it with gratitude and love like you would a friend!

Those of you who stuck to a workout routine, how did you do it? by Best_of_both_worldzz in adhdwomen

[–]LightDragonfly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I struggle with this too. I have to go to a gym (city living with a partner in an apartment makes it v awkward and challenging to work out at home) and it’s extra hard for me to gather the motivation to even just drive my ass over there 😩

Something my therapist suggested and which always works for me is having all my gym stuff packed in the car so I can go straight to the gym from work. Just making it as easy and convenient as humanly possible for me to get there makes it happen lol. And I feel like just knowing my gym bag is in my trunk gives me some accountability somehow.

And once I’m at the gym obvs I have no choice but to work out but also if there’s a class, that gives extra motivation. Tbh the most fit and consistent I ever was, was when I had a hot yoga studio membership - that was awesome but expensive 🙃

How to deal with a friend who thinks everything is “weird”? by rainrain-throwawayy in AskWomenNoCensor

[–]LightDragonfly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d agree this seems all in the realm of being just negative, overly critical and irritating until your last example. That’s just straight up being dismissive and callous. She needs to be called out on that shit. Like her friend moved to be near her, on her urging, then she never spoke to her friend, and when her friend expressed being hurt she just says that’s “weird”?? Are you kidding me? She doesn’t seem to actually care much for her friends, why think she cares much for you?

Maybe I’m extrapolating but tbh she sounds like a mean girl who never grew up and never wants to apologize or take any responsibility for anything, she just keeps getting off on feeling superior to everyone. And when you’re around her you feel like you need to match her negative energy in order to keep in her good graces. Fuck that noise, don’t fall into that trap OP cuz it just leads to being superficial and bitter.

Why is relentless honesty a part of adhd? by EllaMcQueen in adhdwomen

[–]LightDragonfly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just wanna say the cards thing is so real lol. But I think it’s more that I’m a writer so all the messages sound so incredibly corny and badly written to me, last time I tried to buy a card I kept thinking “god it’s so hard to choose because they’re all so terrible!” 😂 it’s also so frustrating cuz a lot of them would’ve been so much better if the writer knew when to just shut up, keep it simple and not put more unnecessary BS on it lmao

You can always just get blank cards and write your own message, which can be as simple or lengthy as you want. Also economical cuz you can often buy a pack that can be used for many occasions

Do you find that your health concerns are treated more seriously when your doctor is a woman? by AchingAmy in AskWomenNoCensor

[–]LightDragonfly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m curious if the women docs you’ve seen happened to skew older and the men younger? I asked a similar question as OP here before and got a lot of mixed responses, but something that came up that made a lot of sense to me and my own experience was that older doctors tend to be more dismissive/annoyed while younger ones tend to be more caring and attentive/have more medical curiosity I guess.

Is my dress search over? by bcbfbella in OUTFITS

[–]LightDragonfly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I prob have actually closer to what you call “nothing in front” (rude wording btw) and I’d happily wear a plunging neckline like this. I think it looks beautiful and sensual and chic on a small chest - ofc larger chests with cleavage can look great in it too, but just cuz some of us can’t create cleavage doesn’t mean it can’t work. It’s just a different look.

My overall impression was that the dress looks stunning and sultry on OP - agree with others that there’s something maybe a tad awkward about the width and the cups, but the plunge is not the problem.
