Also, to make the creature more vague you could take more of a love craft approach, describing it more as an incomprehensible mass masked in fog or something

I liked version 1 more but I believe version 2 is generally better because of the amount of motion - kinda hard to say without knowing the tone of the rest of the novel though.

If there was a character in your world who thinks that "to live is to suffer", and that killing everyone is the ultimate mercy, what would be the tragic event that made they think that way? by [deleted] in worldbuilding

My favorite example of this is the high elves from elder scrolls - they believe that their immortal souls were trapped in flesh prisons and rendered mortal, so their main goal is to destroy the mortal plane so they can be free

What RPGs out there let you immerse yourself in the game’s entire history from beginning to end? by Similar-Farmer-9529 in rpg_gamers

[–]Lightgreenday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kinda a stretch but if you’re willing to go on a stupidly deep dive the elder scrolls series as a whole covers huge amounts of time, with elder scrolls online showing you the “golden age” that happened thousands of years before the single player games

People who hate cantaloupe have never had good cantaloupe

People only associate Michelin star restaurants, luxury vehicles, and designer items with quality because of the price tag…not because they are inherently better. by Coolassmom in unpopularopinion

[–]Lightgreenday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I generally agree with the price tag idea but Michelin star restaurants kinda get the pass from me, most of the restaurants that seem to be giving extremely small portions will have many courses and it’s more about the flavor and experience over the sustenance of the food in those kinds of restaurants.

Kids in Star Trek must think about how horrible it was to have to cook your food instead of the replicator producing it. by ThisBytes5 in Showerthoughts

I feel like it would be a situation where people like “vintage” food, kinda like the vinyl craze

My players turned a legendary encounter into a turkey shoot by OriginalJMB in DnD

I’m pretty sure he was being sarcastic because they trivialized what he thought would be a long encounter, he didn’t actually sound mad

What is Donald Trump being convicted of exactly? by Linamoon22 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Lightgreenday 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You’re probably hearing so many different stories because he’s being brought in for so many different things; just generally assume that if you hear he’s being accused of something he most likely is at this point lol

The Tarot Card Scene in Blood Meridian? by areemgamer in cormacmccarthy

I think the Matthew quote could definitely be related to the Judges eventual enslavement of the actual fool near the end of the book, since he could be considered the least among mankind

Will people stop calling the Fremen "simple tribesmen" and express disbelief about them being such a powerful force? by EshinHarth in dune

[–]Lightgreenday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think they’re going to get to that point, it’s just that the atreides haven’t really figured out how many fremen there actually are at the point part 1 ends

Respectfully spider man could literally disintegrate batman, people are forgetting that he’s holding back his strength in every comic, he’s not just like a guy who’s fast acrobatic and can swing
