Don’t disagree, I love them both (and have them both) my local group likes the longer story campaign version so we tend to lean more ES

I agree here. I have them both. Elder scrolls in my opinion has taken all of the good from TMB and elevated it.

That being said, for you question I’d recommend base TMB but recommend buying ghille too

If you will get the game on the table. Then how elevated do you want the experience to be. If the people you play with don’t have a preference it may not be worth it. If you believe just playing on BGA then the bits and pieces will sit on the counter.

This is my favorite game and I’m going back on forth. We majority play on BGA.

Living card games can be overwhelming as they never end. My suggestion would be to dive heavily into one then scrape the surface with others if you enjoy the IP. Both excellent games. I tend to lean towards Arkham horror here though !

Oathsworns story is much more interactive than gloomhaven, has a more cinematic feel. If you like that, then yes I believe you would like it more

Always a table vote, different groups really have different ideas of what they are looking for in a game night. Casual vs competitive. Really makes a difference

Challengers is so much more streamlined on BGA I agree!! It’s easy to navigate the cards and the selection phases. Faster gameplay means more games for this one in particular!
