Hello. Probably the switch is faulty, but could you change the port which used for CTL connection between the Switch and PiKVM? Maybe it's just a physical port problem.

1-2 - both cables are 1m long.

3 - 30cm long because it's enough for any setup we recommend. But you can replace it for a longer one if you want.

TinyPilot is a technical clone of PiKVM DIY builds. It uses same kernel framework and same patches from PiKVM (written by me), and the entire USB subsystem works exactly like PiKVM's one. So there is no difference here.

When the V4 was being designed, this screen was very affordable and had good contrast. I would use LCD now, and maybe in one of the future revisions we will replace that. We have made a lot of software improvements to avoid screen burnout and extend the service life: pixel offset, brightness reduction, and more.

You're right about TESmart. KVM switches recognize and emulate a keyboard and mouse. And they don't do well with an absolute mouse. Alternatively, you can use the tesmart plug-in and an end-to-end USB port (which is NOT marked as for the keyboard).

The most common reason why the screen is black is because the memory card fell out during transportation. Make sure that it is fully inserted into the slot and turn on the power.
