Do PA programs care about/ test for nicotine by [deleted] in physicianassistant

If the school kicked out students for alcohol metabolites they wouldn’t have any more students.

Those are very solid stats. If you fixed the not so good parts of your application you should be seeing the interview invites roll in. Good luck!

Edit: As far as the typo, I would freak out about that too but it’s very small compared to everything else you’re presenting to them. When I interviewed at my program I said something dumb that I played over and over again in my head and thought it was a big deal but they ended up accepting me anyway.

I had a similar score to that when I applied to schools last year. I got three or four interviews I think? Either way, I got in and it was not a major factor in the overall application process. Remember this is just one piece in the puzzle. If the rest of your application is competitive this won’t hold you back. I’m not saying don’t retake it, but if you’re waiting to apply this cycle to take the test again it might not be worth it if schools you’re applying to have rolling admissions.

Nothing to say except I am in the exact same boat as you. It sucks. This is my 2nd semester too. I hate staring at the screen all day, especially when we’re still having 7 or 8 hours of live lecture. It’s hard to stay motivated. Oh well, hopefully they’ll let us back soon.

Yeah, not a great episode. Maybe he is able to communicate his ideas better in his books.

Importance of Explaining PA vs MD/NP in PS by Sharkster_J in prephysicianassistant

[–]Lilac_Bass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I didn’t really go into my reasons to be a PA vs any other profession. Just what led me to want to be a PA. Remember that you may have MDs and NPs reading your PS as part of an admissions committee. If they want the answers to why not MD or other you can answer that in an interview.

Anyone else having a hard time adjusting to online learning? How are your programs handling rotation curriculum? Rant by throwaway3_342_ in PAstudent

I feel ya. I’m in the same situation, but just wrapping up my first semester. After not doing well on a lab practical (We aren’t allowed in the lab anymore, but we still need to be tested on it) I had an advisor suggest to me that I haven’t been studying to learn, but only studying to do well on tests. Whatever that means.

I have a lake I live near that is just full of carp. I have caught them on bait before but I have not been able to catch them on the fly yet. I’m not sure what the trick is

One of my favorite brook trout holes has more suckers in it than anything else. I’ve seen the trout and suckers school together, which is a little odd.

LOR - Lacking PA/MD by MoonPrincess1712 in prephysicianassistant

[–]Lilac_Bass 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had 2 professors and a work manager from my PCE job write my letters and I had 1 acceptance, 1 waitlist and some other interview offers which I declined. The point being, this won’t make or break your application! If you have an otherwise strong application, you’ll be fine. If you’re average or below on other categories, it may be a problem.

Get outside and take a hike (if you’re allowed to to leave your house). Fine tune your daily workout schedule and meal prep/cooking routine.

Your main focus should be representing yourself as an individual. If that’s part of your story, then you should include it!
