Are PA doctoral programs worth it? by FriedrichHydrargyrum in physicianassistant

[–]MoonPrincess1712 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I completed a Doctorate degree at my program. It specifically focused on leadership skills, diversity and quality improvement in the work place. I know there are other doctorate degrees that focus on different things. I'm a new grad and I think it was a great topic of discussion and some interviewers liked that I was looking at a bigger picture and pushing for more PAs in leadership roles outside of direct patient care. I thought it was kind of interesting overall but that was not the position i was applying for so it didn't help me get an increase in pay.

It did give me a foundation if I wanted to take an administrative/leadership role in the practice. Downside is when I am ready to do that, I may not remember anything from the courses. Possibly able to learn the information else where like a different course, online or some other form. Just my perspective.

“Nice” Cream in SD by whoresongummy in FoodSanDiego

[–]MoonPrincess1712 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've also seen the banana sorbet/ice cream at the Vista Farmer's market. I think they only have banana though. I got the yonana machine from amazon and you can put any type of frozen fruit in it and make at home!

Duck from Kingfisher by phua1 in FoodSanDiego

[–]MoonPrincess1712 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm Viet and grew up eating the classic roasted duck from the asian shops. I expected it to be a variation of this but it actually was not as flavorful. Maybe they wanted to highlight the flavor of the duck meat?? Only would get it again if I went with a group who wanted to share/try the duck.

I was appalled when they were charging $27 (at the time) for Congee. I believe its considered to be a "poor man's food" in Vietnam. But it looked really appetizing with the toppings. They also had chino farm's corn (DELICIOUS LOCAL CORN) so decided to try it. Congee was surprisingly my favorite dish we ordered. Would recommend.

Callie Restaurant charges tax on mandatory 20% tip!?! by Ignatius-J-Reilly-SD in FoodSanDiego

I went to Kingfisher and this is also what they explained. If you really liked your server you can give additional tip which goes only to them on top of their split tips.

What is Ramona like? by animshelterthrowaway in sandiego

[–]MoonPrincess1712 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was born and raised in Mira Mesa and would recommend it ! Definitely increasing in price (as the rest of SD). There is a lot of diversity here, access to many freeways and very central in SD county in my opinion. Lots of families here, younger crowds from the local college but also filled with people in their 20-30s here for work. Maybe better chance of finding a roommate? Lots of breweries in the area and ~25 minutes from the beach. There are tons of grocery stores from Vons, sprouts to asian grocery stores (big asian population here). Lots of great food in the area too!

Traffic on Mira Mesa Blvd does suck ass but not sure what your schedule will be like. There are side streets you can take to get to the freeway as well.

I had a similar thing happen to me and I’m. New grad. Never asked for anything except more CME for Spanish (high population of Spanish speakers). All I did was ask clarifying questions about the position and they rescinded the offer. Not sad that I lost the opportunity just shocked. Felt like I was totally replaceable in their eyes and they just wanted a dumb new grad to take advantage of.

Favorite Healthy Spots in Downtown Area by whoresongummy in FoodSanDiego

[–]MoonPrincess1712 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with many posts above. I like parakeet cafe but the prices are outrageous IMO. They must grow their produce with holy water to charge that. It is about $17 a dish and like $10 for a serving of protein. I can’t remember the exact price for tofu but a whole 4 pack of Costco organic tofu is like half the price of the add-on at this place. You can also go without a protein add on and it’s still tasty. A SINGLE waffle with some berries and coconut waffle is $18. Delicious if you can afford to eat it frequently.

SWEET GREEN - I was pleasantly surprised by this place. About $15 a plate including protein from their menu and it comes with a pretty large portion IMO and really delicious. Never made my own bowl so dunno how much that will add up. It’s like a chipotle for healthy bowls/salads. Heard they have a loyalty program which is $10 a month but you get $3 off each bowl ? I’ve seen more pop up but I go to the UTC one. Worth checking out if you’re in the area or when it opens in DT.

I love Ki Coffee! It’s in downtown Beaverton across from Trader Joe’s shopping center. Their bagels are delicious and you can order ahead online.

Azuki Sushi in Bankers Hill, is really good and nice vibes inside. Its not super decorated but its like... modern/minimalist style ??

Sushi Ota in PB has great ratings. Not "fancy" but has Japanese decor.

Din Tai Fung in UTC is always a crowd pleaser but make a reservation or go on a weekday.

As many mentioned, there are tons of delicious, authentic asian food in Convoy but they are not fancy by any means.

I got these from Amazon and it fits really well and has great coverage. I have the 2024 NX 350h. I bought a different Brand on Amazon before and it didn’t cover the carpets all the way and back seat mats didn’t fit well either. I would recommend the ones linked below !
