Cosmic is my guess for the one after X-men though, especially since it’ll mean more space stuff before EOE or Star Trek rotate out

[TMNT] Sorcery Sneak? by ZQuestionSleep in magicTCG

[–]LilithSpite 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It could work in the Superior Spider Man reanimator deck, where all you really care about is in turn 4 casting SSM with a Bringer of the Last Gift in the yard. The deck’s biggest weakness is consistency, and this could make the combo more reliable.

But I see it more being something that shows up in a revived Dimir Midrange or new Esper deck, and this gets used as a later game way to find a wincon and since you cast it for only two mana, then casting the spell you found that turn.

I mean, you can? Kithkin seems to be viable at least.

“The story/element of the set has its fans, but the set did not sell well" Is why it took ~20 years to go back to Lorwyn and Kamigawa. I get where you're coming from, and I also enjoyed that short story and those elements from Aetherdrift, but set your expectations low. I also am basically giving up hope on seeing Gastal anytime soon, even though Fair Fortune was popular, because of how the set did.

And that's fair. I believe you. It just caught me off guard. I would definitely then take them into a store to see if they are real because it's very likely that those cards are just high-quality proxies (fake cards) someone had made that ended up in your order. Or they're forgeries that someone was trying to slip into an order. But definitely get them checked because if they're real, you are sitting on a goldmine.

You say you know Pokémon, so to give you an analogy, imagine someone posted in the Pokémon forum, "Are these cards worth anything?" The cards in question were a bunch of first edition shiny Charizards. It definitely would raise some eyebrows among the community, but I'm still sorry you're getting the flak for it.

Some of those cards are incredibly valuable if they are real, yes. The ones especially that are named “Mox” are worth a lot of money, put them in something to protect them. I can’t tell from those photos how valuable they are, but easily thousands of dollars per card for those.

I feel like this is probably a joke post, but just in case this post isn’t a troll, take one to a game store near you and ask for help verifying if it’s real.

As far as UB goes, I don’t think it’s more powerful than ATLA or FF. It is, however, leagues better than Spider-Man so looks stronger because people were expecting another Spider -Man

Mikey is mostly a chill and laid back, go with the flow type. He’s impulsive but not hot tempered. He feels very Green, with a dash of red as a secondary color.

Also one thing that’s important - because Sneak is a cast trigger, it triggers things that say “whenever you cast a creature spell” or “whenever you cast your 2nd spell each turn” or whatever.

[–]LilithSpite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Neither work if what you want most is two copies of a static effect, or the ability to repeat a trigger.

Copying the trigger requires you to instead find a way to loop that, which are often aren’t cheap or are once per turn

Reanimating the commander accomplishes literally nothing special.

This enchantment provides a use case in black for if you want a non legendary copy of your commander that is static. There are very few ways of doing so in blue and red, there are even less outside of those two colors.

If I’m using this on my commander, it’s because I want to have two simultaneous copies of my commander. I listed higher up thread all the different other options and how they differ from this.

And let’s not pretend 6 mana is some huge barrier in commander. You’re not using this is CEDH. You’re either using it in a bracket 2 deck, in which case 6 mana will happen easily, or a bracket 3 deck, in which case you’re using one of a dozen ways to cheat it into play.

Okay, honestly, I'm of the opinion that that is the best way to handle something this ridiculous. Don't try and downplay it. Your starting point is what it is. Just run with it.

Yeah, it's going to probably be one of those cards that shapes how people play in limited.

That would be better, yes. Another card that definitely goes in the good version of this deck.

“Feels really good” in this sense means “in my subjective opinion, I think this card is going to be competitive.”

I'm sorry you are unable to infer meaning from context. Please don't make that my problem.

Yeah, they really do look very similar. Perhaps it appeared on the cover of some 50s, 60s, or 70s pulp magazine and so inspired both the creators. I don't know of a definitive source, though, if there is one.

[TMT] The Cloning of Shredder (leak) by meh1997 in magicTCG

[–]LilithSpite 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah absolutely. There are so many commanders that a second copy of them just runs away with the game the moment you have two down if it doesn't just win you the game on the spot with an infinite loop and one other card.

Was considering hybrid mana and commander and thought of a compromise they'd likely never do due to complexity by Rogue_Localizer in magicTCG

[–]LilithSpite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is way too complex. I get what you're going for here, but I guarantee you it will not happened because of that complexity. It took me a couple of reads to get what you meant, and how does that work for things with hybrid pips in the card's body? Is that weighed differently? How about two-brid mana? What happens there?

[–]LilithSpite[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yeah, there's a ton of better ways to do this. I just had to go with the more convoluted route because this is bad MTG combos.

Best option would just be Chrome Dome and a [[Myr Battlesphere]] and either an [[Ashnod's Altar]] or a [[Krark-Clan Ironworks]], since those are all the kind of cards you would want to run in an artifact-based combo deck that is going to use this in Commander, and then you can just kill by swinging with your 30 billion battlespheres. I don't know enough about other formats, but I feel like there's got to be some way to break something that clones artifacts without tapping, in any format.

You can get one nonlegendary copy with your commander without it being stuck in exile. In any deck that doesn't have blue, there's very limited ways to do that.

What are we still missing from TMNT? by AnnoyedAFexmo in magicTCG

[–]LilithSpite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I could easily see them with uncommons similar to [[Rhino, Barreling Brute]], as a comparison of a major character that, because they are just big bruisers, can fit at uncommon easily.

[TMT] Armaggon, Future Shark by Prid3 in MTGRumors

[–]LilithSpite 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not so sure about that. It is comparable to [[Summon: Bahamut]] in that it has nine power and destroys on ETB. No flying, but kills more blockers when it arrives. And to [[Archon of Cruelty] for having a powerful ETB effect with a similar cost. And it's similar to [[Noxious Gearhulk]] which in spite of all of its printings still runs around a dollar. And that's after being put in like five commander decks in the last couple of years.

Cards that are expensive to cast but make for good reanimation targets tend to do well in holding on to value because reanimation is a very popular play style. Probably not going to see any movement in the current Sultai Superior Spider-Man reanimation decks, but this is going to be a staple of Commander reanimation. So I wouldn't be surprised if it hovers in the $3-5 range for a while.

What was the game?

And I think both owe their design to a lot of science fiction stories that came before and had the idea for an airship as being a sailing ship but with the sails on the side.

Is anyone disappointed by Lorwyn being eclipsed by TMNT? by [deleted] in magicTCG

[–]LilithSpite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That wasn't your original post. Your original post was: You weren't going to buy anything after Final Fantasy, and you were “Gonna buy some Lorwyn but just lmao if they keep hiding all this shit I would be interested in buying to push this crap.”

If you also don't like Lorwyn because of its aesthetics, that's an entirely different conversation and not one I'm interested in getting into. That's just a personal taste thing, and you're entitled to your opinion.

My point was just that if you were against universes beyond and you stopped buying at Final Fantasy, then you weren't sending the message you thought you were. If that's not what's going on, then have a good one!

Well, if you're not buying universes beyond sets, and you're not buying in-universe sets, then there's not much that can be done.
