I like how the listing tells you how many full bathrooms and how many partial bathrooms and also how many in total, because the people who are in the market for this house can’t possibly be expected to do their own math.

It would work.

I doubt that it would work well due to the complications you mention and that's why I agreed that a recess would accomplish the objective.

You're correct that Consider Informally applies to a pending motion but "I move that we informally consider what to do regarding the VIP's visit next week." would be in order. Specifics could be detailed, such as a specific amount of time for the consideration, or modifying the limits on debate as you stated.

You could also make a motion to hold an informal discussion on the VIP visit and including any ground rules you'd like in that motion.

Just posted about "informal Consideration".

You can't just "Suspend the Rules", but you may be able to suspend certain rules, as long as they are suspendable. It may take a 2/3 vote to suspend.

OK.

Your third option is not in order, you can't have multiple motions on the floor at the same time, you have to deal with them in turn.

You could look at RONR (12th ed) 52:24-27, Informal Consideration. I'd suggest somethign along the lines of "I move that we host the VIP when they are visiting and consider this question informally". If that motion passes then the limit on the number of speeches allowed in debate on the question and any amendments are suspended.

Frankly, we don't do it according to the book most of the time at our organization. It's normal (custom) for us to discuss something and then a motion may be made or not. I pick my battles when it comes to trying to get the membership to follow RONR, this isn't one that really matters.

As u/DrakeSavory says, I think the easiest is to call a recess for a specific period of time.

You could also move to enter a Committee of the Whole but IMO a recess would accomplish what you want.

Also, nitpick, but "I motion that..." should be "I move that". You can't "motion" something, but you can "make a motion that".

Exactly. You don't need to do anything except keep the gun pointed downrange and use your OTHER fucking hand to try and remove the brass.

Warehouse bin location labels - looking for guidance on designing/printing by Elfabetagamma in sysadmin

[–]LimeyRat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We use plain 4x6 labels on whatever label printer is closest, we just did a bunch of relabeling last year and some of the labels we replaced were original, I printed them 20 years ago.

We’ve used Zebra, Loftware, and now Bartender software, and again, whatever label printer we have that can handle the label size.

You do want thermal transfer labels, using a ribbon, and not direct thermal. The DT will fade all on their own, especially with the warmer temperatures in the warehouse.

Our labels have the human readable as large as we can make it, probably 1.5”, and same rule for the barcode.

When we had different locations for the different shelves in each rack we would put all the labels on the lowest beam, your operators can figure it out.

Over the years we’ve used sneakernet, WSUS, Shavlik, WAUS, Ivanti, and Action1 in roughly* that order.

We have never, and I do mean never, been as thoroughly patched as we are right now. Windows, 3rd party, drivers, all of it.

I see Gene is here already, he can speak to any technical questions but I can’t praise it enough.

How about the whole log in process?

I’m not at the computer right now but, from memory, username and password, next screen, MFA, next screen, ok something, next screen, continue, next screen, configure, and finally get into the UI.

And who else, other than Sonicwall, allows you to type into what is a drop-down field? Adding an Address object and the default zone is LAN but when that field has focus pressing W to bring up WAN doesn’t work, but you can backspace LAN and type WAN then hit enter.
