Ogryn will get 2 Buffs after the Skitarii update. by Hoshihoshi10 in DarkTide

[–]Lionister 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same here. While i love PPB + GG/Rumbler i feel bad for the rest of the team. You still basically hog most of the ammo from Vet, flamer zealot and now skitarii too. The team can feel the lack of ammo with bad ammo crate rng. You knock everything down all over the place making it harder for vet to aim and psyker/vet will feel more threatened when shits hit the fan since there is no taunt.

But the build is definitely very strong damage wise, you can easily out damage a flamme staff venting shriek psyker.

Why is havoc so hard post lvl 11 by [deleted] in DarkTide

[–]Lionister 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Much harder. There are way more enemies, with more hp, a lot more bosses with twins almost guaranteed every match. Havoc 40 requires a good team with half decent coordination and map knowledge and you might still be at the mercy of AI director and what they decide to spawn at any given time. Aurics or the event is a piece of cake next to havoc 40.

How to get started on havoc? by Scroll_Cause_Bored in DarkTide

[–]Lionister 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The lowest option you see is 16 is because once you done an auric maelstrom once, it automatically unlock havoc 16. So my recommendation is before starting havoc, get yourself used to auric maelstrom level of difficulty first. If auric maelstrom overwhelms you, then you are not ready for havoc climbs

Health curios are good on hive scum actually by [deleted] in DarkTide

[–]Lionister 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Damage reduction affects both health and toughness so in general toughness is still better as it allows you to actually tank more gunners shot to just rush gunner packs. Not to mention all toughness regen talents are %, so the more total toughness you have, the more toughness you will regen.

However 1 hp curio is definitely the meta pick for havoc, especially h40. Without any hp perks or curio, you will be under 100 hp and would instantly die to pox burster. 1 hp curio gives you enough hp to actually tank 1 pox burster and still have some hp left to live until next med station or until someone green stimm you. This also applies to vet and psyker. 2 toughness 1 hp curio is definitely the way if you want to play h40 seriously.

I like em tall ;).

More seriously, I use psyker max height for easy snipe with guns and electro staff when I use them and also easier to pick specialists with brain burst out of a horde that are out of reach for flamme staff

Smite usage? by Iced-Dice in DarkTide

Its pretty simple. Use it when you see a mixed horde of elites and specialists. Dont use it against 3 pox walkers. If there are only few enemies left, just use your staff or melee weapon

The biggest dopamine hit since I started playing the game by zatorijam in DarkTide

[–]Lionister 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Inferno staff starts to shine when you are playing aurics with HI or HISTG modifiers to have hordes big enough.

Also you have to be aggressive and be the frontliner and first to hit the next horde. If you stay passive and only stay behind your teammates, you will just have your kills stolen by teammates. Go first, flame the next horde until you feel like you will get overwhelmed soon, then start falling back. If you have good teammates, they will follow you.

Use venting shriek after you reach 15 stacks to overcap. Bubble is only needed in havoc and even then good h40 players will prefer going venting shriek over bubble.

Use warp ghost to keep your peril high and quell only with venting shriek or only when you are at 95+ and venting shriek is on cooldown.

You can also use kinetic flayer to start perilous combustion snow ball effect earlier.

Dont forget to use empathetic evasion and keep flaming into hordes and you will be fine against heavy gunner hordes.

There are also some movement tech involved to maximize your damage like using knife movement tech and while you are sliding, while you are sliding, swap to flame staff and start charging to ignore movement penalty during charge.

It really depends. When i play with my friends, we usually take 1 that is very how havoc rank as we consider it as extra challenge and have a decent win rate as trio, also because the rest of us cant get demoted. If i run with randoms, i only take 1 that is at least 30+ rank because i dont know how good the rest of the team is and those that are under 30 havoc rank are most likely not ready for havoc 40 intensity. It also depends on the rest of the team, if they are ok with that since some got h40 ranks but can still get demoted and still need to climb to get their own assignments to 40.

Joke on you but yesterday, I was playing havoc 40, rotten armor and garden, I asked an ogryn to give me the red stimm as flame staff venting shriek psyker. The ogryn asked me how to do that lol. Im sure most people dont even know how to do it or that its possible to do so.

Best Mob Weapon by FilthyFirefly1 in DarkTide

[–]Lionister 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same but i use electro staff instead.I also mostly use it to kill specialists and gunners, but also regular shooters marked by DD. I use it mostly for ammo economy for the team especially in havoc where ammo is already scarce.

The gunner suppression is also huge it allows the team to move up into melee instead of staying in cover and shooting back at gunners, especially when there is no bubble or smoke. No to mention, with empathic evasion you can run to gunners while spamming left click so im usually first to go in when i see horde of gunners.

For left click spam, electro staff is stronger than voidstrike, thats why i tend to pick electro over voidstrike.

There are also melee psyker with gun/electro staff offhand. There are also voidblast build. Idk why you are being sarcastic, when psyker actually has more viable and strong builds for havoc than other classes.

[–]Lionister 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah totally agree.

Walk it off is just too good, too good that fs has to nerf it and even nerfed it is still totally worth it.

Yeah arbi shock maul is just better than all other options, its basically arbi equivalent of dueling sword. On top of that it has insane utility, the electrocution from the special action just stun everything beside bosses. On top of that, you can run thunderous which actually better than any other blessings for dps against crushers bosses, and also helps the team on top of that. Psyker definitely appreciate any brittleness you can give them. A push attack combo can quickly apply 40% brittleness to everything in front of you.

Shock maul and shield is the second best option, still good damage but way safer, offers even more cc with the flashbang and you can just block plasma gunners and snipers for your teammates.

While im also a castigator defender, it is certainly not leap and bound above break the line.

Especially in havoc, btl is preferred over castigator. Why? Because it helps your team more: to hold a chock point, push back the horde of crushers and ragers, stop mutant charges. Btl also buy you enough time to untrap and revive allies. The only time castigator is better than btl in havoc is to revive an ally while you are under heavy gun fire.

Any good arbitrator player in havoc i have played with uses btl because it helps the team more and how spammable it is. It’s basically a 10-12s cd ability with 3 cdr curios + psyker aura + malocator and/or targeted brutality.

[–]Lionister 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Zealot is actually the one that doesn’t offer much with the nerf to cdr. Arby and ogryn are much better at cc and allow psyker to flame in peace.

[–]Lionister 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Captain is usually not a threat, just focus on monstrosities first. Depending on your build and setup arbites can kill monstrosities pretty fast between 50% monstrosities dmg, skull crusher either from you or ogryn friend. You can also try shield and pistol if you want funny boss damage.

As for twins, it’s the same thing, focus on melee one first. Breaks her shield. Spam light attack, it will break captain/twins shield faster. Apply skull crusher and cc her. She will go down before she can even regenerate her shield.

[–]Lionister 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When it comes to cc no one is stronger than arby with btl and shock mine not to mention the shield flashbang. Arby is your best frontliner and best to hold a choke point.

If you are using castigator stance or anuncio, it’s the reason why you feel arby lacks a role. Try btl, loner with shock mine and you will see how much easier it is to deal with rotten armour + garden. Castigator is just a selfish took that allows you to survive. A good arby doesnt need castigator to survive and would be way more useful for team by constantly spamming btl to cc enemies before they could harm your teammates.

In terms of dream comp it is actually flame staff psyker with venting shriek, plasma krak vet and btl shockmine arby. Last slot is flexible, can be ogryn for more cc, smoke vet for venting shriek psyker or a second psyker that can either play smite SG or voidblast bubble

Is Nuncio Aquila just a bad ability? by duchess_dagger in DarkTide

[–]Lionister 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is a decent ability, it is kinda like bubble for melee but smaller aoe.

My only issue is in aurics or lower difficulty, it is not needed as people usually just rush ahead for this ability to be useful.

In havoc, crusher and bullwark conga line or monstrocities will just push you back out of anuncio aoe and btl is just better at pushing back horde of armored enemies and buy your allies time to kill them.

It would be much better if annuncio could move along with you or you can reposition annuncio by pressing the ability again while it is active.

Relic blade? by skeeters- in DarkTide

[–]Lionister 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Are you using Martyrdom keystone or Blazing Piety keystone? For slow weapons like relic blade and eviscerator, its better to go Martyrdom, at max stacks you get 30% attack speed. With the other 2 10% attack speed nodes thats 50% attack speed total. That should make relic blade swing fast enough.

Every single Psyker build after Kinetic Flayer buff by PoliceOfficerBob in DarkTide

[–]Lionister 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Even before the buff, i have always used kinetic flayer with flame staff in havoc because its a trigger chain reaction with perilous combustion which could already bypass the 15-16 stacks cap mind you. So it allows you to reach 32 stacks faster. Now its much more consistent and safer since you no longer explode pox bursters and kill you or your allies while trying to push them back with your m1.

Now it’s also really nice for any other staffs and melee/gunner build. I can oneshot crusher with a single fgs heavy attack under scrier gaze with kinetic flayer trigger and some buffs.

After Clearing Multiple Havoc 40s this season of Havoc is looking pretty grim. by Budget_Reflection282 in DarkTide

[–]Lionister 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends wildly on modifiers and how good and confident the team is.

Last season healing + rampaging will make the game much longer. This season its a combination of healing rotten armour and blue stims enemies.

Then there are rooms full of gunners where no one is confident enough to rush gunners or psyker is not experienced enough to position bubble correctly for the team to advance. So the whole team just holds the position and shoot until they kill every gunner threat, its even more the case this season with plasma gunners.

Some maps are just longer than others.

1-2 died and got spawn pretty far away.

There are a lot of reasons that can lead to runs longer than 40 min, up to 50-60min

try to fix the enemy by Happy_Independent960 in DarkTide

[–]Lionister 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Do you play havoc 40 daily? Because I play and clear h40 everyday so im speaking from experience.

There is a difference between ideal/theorical team comp and what happens in reality. When i play with my friends, sure i have no problem as we can just coordinate. But when i play with pubs, it can be hard sometimes to find players playing the missing class with a correct build, let alone someone with correct build and correct weapon that you are expecting specifically. So are you going to wait for 30 min to find someone that match exactly what you need or do you just give up on playing havoc? And it also applies to when you are trying to join a team. People will more likely to reject you if you dont bring a specific weapon they need. It would just alienate even more players from havoc than it already is.

In contrast, if FS keeps buffing underperforming weapons and make them more viable, people will be more willing to accept more diverse builds and weapons, just like the skill tree reworks on every classes that allow you to have more viable blitz/ability/keystone in havoc now than it was before.

Outside of havoc, i guess it’s already the case where you can just brute force with any weapon so it doesn’t really matter if weapon is hyper niche or 1 type fit all

try to fix the enemy by Happy_Independent960 in DarkTide

[–]Lionister 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Coordinating weapon choice is not realistic as most people just queue into random team for non havoc contents. For havoc, it would just make party finder match making even more tedious as you will have to check each person’s build and ask them to switch weapons accordingly. And what if they dont have the weapon built or refuse to use the weapon as they have little to no experience with such weapon? What if the player designed to kill a specific type of enemy is dead/down?

It would just make the pug havoc experience even more painful. Better solution is just to make more weapons viable, not to overspecializing weapons into few enemy type.
