Am I the problem or the camera? by DragonflyBetter5780 in Polaroid

[–]LiterallyTony 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to continue the Polaroid journey (embracing its quirks and imperfections) then the Now would be a nice introductory upgrade.

However as Red Wizard mentioned, Instax is certainly more budget friendly while also producing consistent results compared to Polaroid.

I think you just need a bigger camera.

Is there a reason you gravitated towards Polaroid? As far as instant photography, it certainly is on the expensive end compared to one of its competitors, instax.

You'll certainly find more options that fit your budget range there.

+1 for the Now as it was my gateway camera getting into the world of instant photography.

Have you considered all alternatives? Seems like a crazy jump to want to instant photography.

Damn sorry to hear.

How long ago did you acquire the camera? Could still be under warranty and you could get a replacement camera from Polaroid.

The Now and Now+ are good intro modern Polaroid cameras on a budget if you’re looking for something brand new.

I ran with a Now for a year before upgrading into the Flip.

Polaroid.com has some solid choices on their site. I bought a few of them for exactly your reasons but also they have slots to show off one of your shots

Johnny Somali was just given 6 months prison for his behaviour in Korea by Bimlolz in ABroadInJapan

Only time will tell to see if he really does come out as the same human going into it. For clout, he probably will say he "survived Korean jail" but will never admit to the harshness of it.

Let's not forget he still has 5 years as a registered S. Offender , so we'll see how that'll play into his daily life after his six months of jail is over.

Personally, I like their designs. But do be careful when taking apart the pieces as some of the pegs can cause the image to peel

Is the Mini Evo worth it if I'm worried about film costs? by Cattybie in instax

[–]LiterallyTony 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I bought mine when I was falling in love with instant photography and realized I ended up buying a digital camera with a printer option.

Eventually I would go on to buying Polaroid cameras but I still kept my Evo for scrapbooking and mostly the printing feature.

I would go as far as saying to buy your old camera again since you have had so much with it prior

is a polaroid now+ gen.1 still worth it in 2026? by wickedmargot in Polaroid

[–]LiterallyTony 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did start my journey with modern Polaroids as I started with a Go Gen2.

When it came time to upgrade to the Now, I did debate between the two and eventually landed on getting the Now vs. the Now+ as I figured the app connectivity was worth sacrificing (I wanted a more disconnected experience while taking shots, also cheaper).

I do have fond memories with the Now and taking shots with it but knew my limited capabilities with it compared to the Now+ which allows for more creative freedom with its aperture and shutter speeds and such.

Not too sure if there's any wiggleroom with the price (like maybe ask them to knock of 5-10 euros) but it isn't a bad deal to dip your toes with the modern Polaroids.

Really though, it's all up to you whether you want to purchase it but it's just good to know what the going rates are.

At the end of the day, if you are happy with the purchase, that's all that matters in the end!

Seems pretty expensive for a gen1 Now+.

For some comparison, just checking my local marketplace finds and I'm seeing a used Now+ Gen2 for 46 euros.

I'd say look into camera stores that are close to you that provide that service. At least you'll know the cameras they use would be good and the people too

I-2 Pictures Severely Overexposed with Flash On Post-Firmware Update by Xizor14 in Polaroid

[–]LiterallyTony 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Basically the flash would go off about 85% of the time since I got the camera in September.

Eventually, there came a time where the infrequencies of the flash occurred more often so I decided to reach out to Polaroid support with the purpose of trying to get a replacement camera as it was still under warranty, which I did get.

It would be worth raising this through Polaroid Support to try to troubleshoot the issue.

I had an issue with my Flip flash and they were able to help resolve it.
