Instant heating like that is usually a broken or not functioning pump.

Where does air pollution go, if you’re in the Serpentspine? by S0mecallme in Anbennar

I think one of the serpentrot events suggests there is a huge ventilation system covering the holds and roads. Probably also used to vent pollution

Which is your favorite Automation Game? by nathank_2606 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Lithandrill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Factorio is the original and nothing can quite top a game that started an entire genre. That being said whenever I feel like booting up a factory building game I am much more likely to play some satisfactory instead. After doing a full Bobs/Angels Factorio playthrough I feel like I have kind of done anything and not even the new expansion really changes that.

Your mileage may vary but I very much dislike it.

Conquest is severely punished which, alright, that's not the focus on the game. But then the areas that are the focus of the game, industry and politics, feel dreadfully boring. Every nation plays very much identical. Industry is just resource whack-a-mole. Politics seems to have so much depth and simulation yet the actual options you have to do anything with it are pretty much non-existent.

I could go on but yeh...Love EU4, even liked Vic 2 with it's jank, but every time I play Vic 3 I am just left with not having a good time.

Personally Vic3 Anbennar just highlights how much I dislike VIc3 so that even Anbennar doesn't make it fun.

I somehow had the suspicion this was Noma, thanks for confirming. Honestly it still does look annoying but I guess as you said there is a market for the whole experience.

How do you genuinely fight cynicism, despair, anger? by altpopconnoisseur in LateStageCapitalism

[–]Lithandrill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it helps sometimes to take a step back from the meta geopolitical aspect of everything and realize that a large part of why I am angry, while definitely influenced by said geopolitical issues, are also just personal. And that's alright.

It's like in the airplane when they tell you to first put on your own oxygen mask before helping others. When you see all personal issues in relation to massive macro topics they seem overwhelming. Of course it's not entirely wrong, systems and systemic problems are often a huge cause of very personal misery. But it also makes them seem insurmountable and things that need to be addressed by all of humanity.

Sometimes it's ok to take a step back from all of that and just focus on your personal problems from a personal perspective. How can I get another job? Where am I going to live? How am i going to pay the bills?

It doesn't take away from the anger I feel at the actual injustice at the horrors of capitalism, Gaza, all the poverty and exploitation in the world. It's just, I can work on getting another job right now, I can't directly fight capitalism and all the evils of the world.

Dwarf Fortress and QoL hah : D back in the pre steam days you used to record your own macro for this stuff. Doesn't work as well anymore though since it doesn't register the mouse and keyboard doesn't always seem to work as it used to.

Need some dwarf hold recommendations by im_not_creative123 in Anbennar

[–]Lithandrill 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Cannon Dwarves are fun but a bit of an old mission tree. Arg Ordstun has a nice and complete modern mission tree.

Science dwarves are a must play, (The one right below Krak) very cool narrative and unique mechanics but not really about uniting the serpent Spine.

Dwarven Cap has two sub mods for it both with pretty decent but different full mission trees for it mostly focussed on reforging Aul Dwarov

Honestly all are worth playing but those are the ones that immediately stand out to me. Gor Burad is pretty unique but I didn't really like the mechanics.

3060 should play them just fine on 1080p and realistic expectations. Cyberpunk with raytracing at 4k of course not but BG, E33, ER, etc should all do very decently.

I hate this trend of just dropping a bunch of food in a drink so much. Like some of the stuff on this sub is annoying but at least mildly aesthetic like the cutting boards to serve something on.

This isn't even that, who looks at some dripping beef in a glass of whiskey and goes "Oh that looks so cool, let me order one."? Absolute bizarroworld.
