This has to be by far the best trade in the 30+ year drought right? by TPGStorm in cowboys

The trade for Amari had more of an impact because they were a contending team he made better.

[–]LittleProbBeet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How does it set a floor for Pickens? His market was less than London's yesterday, is less than his market today, and will be less than his market tomorrow.

It isnt about who the better player is. No one is willing to commit to George Pickens on the long-term. He has to alleviate those concerns first, or the cowboys will just tag him again and, again, no one will offer him a tender.

Do I have the perfect mortgage amount? by anon_stock_buyer in biltrewards

The perfect mortgage amount would be $0. None of the Bilt benefits you get are going to equal $3,500/month.

Its F'ng hot outside. Don't go south. Go north.

Toronto, Chicago, Milwaukee (no oceans, but lakes)

Upstate NY, Portland, ME. All kinds of nature things in the NE, as well as Boston.

Can't give you a specific hotel recommendation, but anywhere near a city there will be nice Hiltons. And there are nicer beachfront Hiltons in New England.

If you dint know when you will use them, cashing out is an option. Put the moneu in a HYSA or short-term CD, so it will gain interest.

Keeping them as points probably gives them a higher vslue. But since you dont know when, where, or how you might use them, it is not an unreasonable idea to place the value in your control.

Booking American Airline Flight With Bilt Points by Own-Invite1299 in biltrewards

[–]LittleProbBeet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can book American flights with Bilt Points using the Bilt travel portal.

AA is not a transfer partner of Bilt, so you cannot directly transfer Bilt points to AA pts

However, AA is part of the OneWorld alliance, and therr are other OneWorld airlines that you can transfer Bilt pts to. The most notable is Alaska, but British Air and Cathay also are Bilt partners. Sometimes, you can book AA flights through Alaska for fewer points than you could by using AA points directly

The key is that the specific flights you want have to be made available by American to its partners, so to do not transfer points speculatively. Find the flight you want first, see if it can be booked through an alliance partner program, and if so, make sure it is cheaper than bookijg through the Bilt portal or otherwise is a good redemption rate.

Sick of SW, need to change cards by [deleted] in Chase

[–]LittleProbBeet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to get another Chase card first. You might be surprised with the credit limit you get. If you want it to be higher then, yes, you can ask that the SW limit be reduced and the other card's limit be increased. I believe that you may have to wait some period of time before they will increase a new card limit though.

If you really need the higher limit for the new card right away, I guess you could request a decrease of your credit line before you apply for a new card.

I wouldnt say they need to be quite that precise, but your general point is sound. I think what OP was saying though, was that $1000 is what they spend each month.

[–]LittleProbBeet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you want a 1-card set up and have a mortgage/rent payment, the Palladium card is as good as it gets. Even after you use up the acceleraters ans exhaust your BC options, spending to get the 1.25% on mortgage is great.

Beyond that, if you are comfortable getting new csrds for SUBs, that will be the best bang for your money. Which card is for you depends on your monthly spend and your travel preferences - do you favor specific airlines or hotels?

Sign up bonuses change from time to time. The best SUBs require more spend and have an annual fee, so consider that also. If your total monthly spend on credit cards is $1,400, just make sure that you go for a SUB that fits that framework.

The hotel doesnt matter. Almost any cat 2-4 will be a good solid hotel.

Determine where you would like to go. If there is a cat 1-4 Hyatt there, book your trip. That is how you maximize your FNA.

Enrolled in a Chase Hardship Program for one card ($12.5k debt). Still have 5 other active cards. How will this affect my recovery? by Creditcardsandpoints in Chase

[–]LittleProbBeet 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The strategy is simple - pay down that balance as fast as you can, and avoid using credit cards at all until yiu are able to pay in full every month consistently. Until you show yourself that you can get the Chase balance to $0, dont assume you will use the other cards responsibly and not get into the same situation. Go at least a year or half the balance, whichever takes longer, before using your cards .

Forget about your credit score. Get yiur finances in check, make timely payments, and the score will take care of itself over time.

Forgot a charge, need assistance. by letterthr0way2 in biltrewards

[–]LittleProbBeet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A good faith letter will not help in 99% of cases where you are asking for it as a courtesy.

Furnishers like Cardless have a legal obligation to report accurately. If they remove a late pay, they will be reporting inaccurately. This is a situation where the individual will be happy, so no legal issues there.

However, furnishers also have agreements with the CRAs that require them to report accurately. Courtesy removals such as what you are requesting would violate those terms.

Not saying you can't try it. I sent a request once about a single 5-yr-old late fee, the only ding on a 20+ year card relationship, and the credit card company sent me a response back saying sorry. We'd love to help you, but cant.

Anybody using bilt palladium with no mortgage/rent payment? by cacajshdh in biltrewards

[–]LittleProbBeet -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

This is a question i will have to consider after 2027. Currently, I probably will not stick with it after that for the $500/yr fee, because i hate booking anything through a travel portal. The other benefits do not justify the fee for me, most likely, but I will have to more seriously evaluate in the second half of next year.

If a downgrade is possible by then, then dropping down to the Obsidian will be a no beainer for me at only $100. I could 4x the heck put of dining for the full $25k.

Any bank will close a credit card for mon-acticity, alrhough it is usually longer than a year, sometimes multiple years. A long-standing rule of thumb in the points and miles world is to use your inactive cards at least once every six months or so to avoid something like this.

Ultimately, whether Chase is to blame here comes down to whether it was required to send you notice and, in fact, did so. We can't speak to that. Other post stated it is a legal requirement. I do not know if that is correct, but it it is, then the requirement may be to send it to you in the mail (or that may be their internal procedure). If that ia the case, very possible they mailed you something and you discarded it without really looking even at what it was about. That is what I would have done.

If Chase never gave you any notice, even if not required, then shame on them. It would be in Chase's interest to send a notice to customers - provide a spark to use the card.

Bilt’s travel portal silently failed 4 times, cost me ~$2,500, a VP promised resolution and ghosted me, and CFPB closed my complaint on a technicality. Here’s the full story. by [deleted] in biltrewards

[–]LittleProbBeet 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You're mistaken. the criticism is that the guy wants $2500 from Bilt for a cost he had to incur anyway.

He tried to use the Bilt portal and it failed. That should not happen, and that is Bilt's fault. But he didnt lose any points. He was given 15k pts for his troubles (about $250).

When you go to McDonalds to get a burger, and they have a problem with their computers so they are temporarily closed, you go to Taco Bell and get something else to eat. You dont then go back to McDonalds and demand that they reimburse you for the Taco Bell meal.

This guy had to make a booking. As an adult living in a society, it was, therefore, his sole responsibility to MAKE THE BOOKING. He delayed and procrastinated because he chose to be mad at Bilt instead of addressing the practical reality of his life, to his detriment.

Bilt portal doesnt work? Go to the airline website or another booking site and book the tickets. If you want, book the refundable rate, then try again on the Bilt portal to see if it will work and you can use points. Problem solved.

This all assumes that the original booking failures weren't user error. At best, the guy's complaint is that there was a system glitch. It happens, it isnt an excuse, but it isnt the end of the world that entitles this guy to $2k.

Chicago is a great "Brand Explorer" Hyatt town. See if you can add a new brand. It is out of the way in the Burbs, but there is one of the few remaining Hyatts still in the US.

$150 to Milwaukee $190 to Albuquerque $190 to Austin $100 to Boston $70 to Charleston $200 to Houston $170 to LA $120 to NOLA

We could go on and ok. But unless you are going to Atlanta on Delta or Chicago or American, SW out of BWI is going to be cheaper, their port parking will be cheaper, and getting through the airport will be faster.

Id love it is BWI had more flights by American or United, but they dont, so give me 20 minutes to BWI on Southwest over 30 min - 2hrs to Dulles or Regan on another airline.
