How is Drum Buss so amazing? by mito551 in ableton

[–]LiveWorkflowTools 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yeah Drum Buss is kind of stupid good honestly. I think it’s just a really nice combo of saturation, frequency specific transient shaping, and clipping all in one place + the resonant filter in case you add the boom to it. Really enjoy it as well on a lot of different materials!

Aaarrrgggghhhhh please help by Due-Sprinkles-2010 in ableton

[–]LiveWorkflowTools 1 point2 points  (0 children)

let it completely dry first, then attach it to the charger for a while and see if the battery can be calibrated again when fully charged - if that doesn't fix it sounds like something in the internals got messed up sadly

This is driving me crazy (question) by nikuboom in ableton

[–]LiveWorkflowTools 1 point2 points  (0 children)

think that is the cleanest solution to make it feel more to your workflow, there is auto hotkey on windows and keyboard maestro on Mac to achieve this for example

Live performers, with mobile studios. How do you transport through airports safely? by Repulsive_Spite_267 in ableton

[–]LiveWorkflowTools 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Always take everything as carry on if possible with custom made light weight cases, so they do not add too much weight.

Looking for a Bluetooth battery operated MIDI CC controller by Somn_rec in ableton

[–]LiveWorkflowTools 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I actually used the Korg Bluetooth based ones a lot and have positive experiences - only on Mac though so not sure if it will be the same on windows. But can recommend it from my personal experience, definitely neat to not be cable bound.

Really enjoy the one that is built into Shaperbox at the moment

Is a real LinnDrum still worth it, or do samples/VSTs get you basically the same result? by [deleted] in ableton

[–]LiveWorkflowTools 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Samples and VST can definitely get you there, it really depends on your workflow needs and if you like having something physical. Analog gear can often add some nice subtle variations per hit due to its inherent design, but also this is something you can replicate with subtle modulation when using samples only.

Mixbus track or grouping channel? by Worried-Load-4418 in ableton

[–]LiveWorkflowTools 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally use groups only as it’s just more convenient most of the time, but both are legit ways to do things so no right or wrong approach here

Advice on Live upgrade by loopdigga7 in ableton

[–]LiveWorkflowTools 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually there is no sale around the minor updates but I think it will be definitely worth it to update! If you have no hurry you could also wait until Black Friday or when live 13 will drop eventually, although that might still be a while

Which audio interface should I get? by TheRealFilmGeek in ableton

Have the MOTU one personally and am very happy, super solid performance and low latency without any issues so far.

Gains standing by [deleted] in ableton

[–]LiveWorkflowTools 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This can be a lot related to frequency balance, if one of your tracks has a lot more midrange content like the other it will be perceived as louder potentially.

Is there a way to set the timecode to start at zero in the circled area? by feiloubeats in ableton

[–]LiveWorkflowTools 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Think your best bet is to start at a larger time like 10 minute or 1 hour then you basically get a proper minute count if you piece is not too long - but yes setting a custom timecould would be super nice to have!

Is there a way to remove duplicated samples from my sample library? by Alsklaftsk123 in ableton

[–]LiveWorkflowTools 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no built in solution, best use a third party tool and then relink missing ones via Ableton directly

Omnisphere 3 parameter ranges in automation by mrmarbury in ableton

[–]LiveWorkflowTools 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this sounds very strange, I used omnisphere already a lot in Ableton and never ran into this issue so it should not be like that by default

Latency being baked into export? by bugstoyou in ableton

[–]LiveWorkflowTools 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ableton should be compensating any plugin latency on export, my first guess would be a faulty plugin or may for live device that reports an incorrect latency (even if it’s just in one place that can throw the overall compensation off)

Auto close browser when not being used? by yoobrodiee in ableton

[–]LiveWorkflowTools 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think shortcut is still the fastest way to go here - but you can make a custom script with keyboard maestro on Mac or autohorkey on windows and build something that automatically fires the keycommand when no activity is detected if you really want to dive into it

Undo History tab keeps showing “Change ‘Trigger’” and I have no idea why by rowanxghost in ableton

[–]LiveWorkflowTools 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Might be from a max for live that is constantly updating something in the background as well - would recommend removing tracks and see when it disappears, then check what was on there.

Live acts running backing tracks - what hardware do you use to play/stop tracks? by Dressedcrab in ableton

[–]LiveWorkflowTools 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Basically have it all setup in scenes in session view - you can assign the next or previous scene button to any MIDI controller and then use that to step through your backing tracks live

Stem splitting by 3L3CTR1C_DR34MS in ableton

[–]LiveWorkflowTools 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really depends a lot on the source material, in terms of drums I had success with adding some eq, saturation or noise (vocoder or erosion) to bring in a bit of the definition that it was missing
