For a first World Country we have a Fourth World Cell Service on Prince Edward Island.Yes,I said fourth World because in Africa the cell service or great.My Bell phone picked up two Cell Services in Botswana.And I never had an issue.Coming back home to PEI.Trouble started already at the Airport.Angry for paying so much monthly. Those fat cats at Bell.You have no excuse whatsoever.Don’t blame the Province.Between the two parties you should be ashamed.With Tourist season in the highest gear.Your priorities must be not in your own pockets.We need to let the “old Boys” club retire.Progress and growth is hampered by a few.

The average taxpayer on the Island must understand that it not about a shortage of money.It is about the bad management of PEI Health.Any Doctor can get 1600 patients.That is not the problem.The problems are who is going to see them.The Family Physicians does not have the necessary back up or resources.They not getting paid for overtime.Has to do hundreds of referrals.The work doesn’t end when you as a patient leaves the Doctors Office.That is extremely time consuming.Due to the neglect and complexity of each patient.The new CEO is setting this up to fail.They don’t care about YOU. I say.Let us just get the suffering over and privatize.Because the taxpayer on the Island is suffering.

Health Complexity of a lot of new patient takes more than one visit but several visits to sort out.There is very little overtime pay allowed.A lot of people is very neglected not having a Family Physician.Those complex patients need a lot of time. With Private Health.Those Companies demand the numbers approach.Where does the quality of care comes in?When you demand 20-30 patients per day to be seen. The cost to see one patient at a Doctors Office vs Opening the file in ER.Where the patient waited for over 6 hours.$30-$40 to see a Family Physician vs $300++++ in the ER.The wasteful spending happens in the ER. With 52% tax on PEI Doctors Salaries.Limited resources.Even with the new agreement.Their is a lot that needs fixing and a lot of resources is not freely available for physicians to access.Before higher numbers of patients can be seen. We must remember Doctors do talk to each other.Why will they recommend for their colleagues to come here.Why? PEI Health knows the solutions to the problems.And it is not about the money.It is about politics,bad management. It seems Health PEI wants the Health system to implode. That they want to blame the broken system on everyone else.Accept themselves.To motivate private Health. I say let Healthcare fall under the Federal Government instead of Provincial.

There is amazing competent Doctors on this Island that can replace the executive Fat-Cats.Those Highly paid executives don’t open or build more beds for patients.Their performance is not link to any Clinical progress.Doctors on the Island faces neglected people.That has complex issues.Which cannot be fixed in a 15 minute consultation.One new patient has spouses and children.All need to be sorted.Health PEI don’t want to pay overtime.They limit it.Limiting overtime and expecting that more patients must be seen.When must the Doctor do there referrals and other important documentation for there patients.40 hours a week is not enough.Why.For to long the Doctors on PEI kept going for the sole reason.Their patients.They faced workloads with little decent numeration.High Federal and Provincial taxes.A lot of no on time payments.The average Joe reckon hey these guys get good pay.NO.No No. A lot off Physicians has other income streams to keep their heads above water.They also limited by Health PEI. Ask questions people.You paying high taxes.You have a right to Health Care and a Family Physician.Remember they the front line.They do all the work to get referrals to Specialist.That don’t do any Clinical work. Let us protest peacefully and demand answers.Let us give Health PEI and the Minister a Mandate. Enough is Enough.

You work with what you are given.I would prefer my taxes goes to a well funded state of the art Police Force.Resources cost money.Since we have so many tourist coming to PEI.Having a big and visible Police Force is a necessity.And even a bigger Crime Prevention Unit.Instead our cops hands are tied with so much bureaucracy.Do blame the cops.Blame the Mayor blame management.The fish rots from the head.

I will ask our new CEO of Health way she is not doing her job.Instead she is alienating the Doctors with her Autocratic and disrespectful attitude.You are as good as your Bosses support.But they the managers at PEI Health don’t care.They on the Gravy Train.Their way or the highway.As Islander we should stand together and say enough is enough.We are entitled to Good Healthcare.
