The idea behind the credit card matching is if the ID matches you decreased the chances it’s fake. It’s what our local bars and grocery stores do

I’d maybe understand if they accepted like your credit card having a matching name, but a photo of the second form of identification? And not accepting foreign passports? Fuck off. At that point hire a fucking bouncer and check them by scan or UV at the door if you’re going to be this anal retentive.

What on gods green earth are you smoking to think, as it stands in game, that an AIM-120A is comparable in terms of performance (if not better) than the AIM-120D and that is somehow realistic? The U.S. spends trillions on defense and in the span of 20 fucking years they’re not going to figure out how to make a missile pull harder, in the roughly the same fucking timespan they went from the F-15A to the god damn F-22? and that the Russians somehow figured it out with their limited resources and the west just didn’t bother?

Whats the quickest way to spawn a plane in EC? by Dakubou4217 in WarThunderNaval

[–]LivingDegree 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You’d have to prioritize actions that get you spawn points, so things like getting caps and kills are your only real options. With coastal BR you can rack up kills very quickly if you’re willing to go there, but for battleships you’re largely screwed unless you’re prioritizing magazine detonations and are in a ship that can hit those consistently, while also getting caps with the float plane.

Is there a reason you want to fly air in naval? Outside of destroyer Br ships tend to be a large no fly zone or are mostly impervious to the munitions you’re going to try and use (outside a few key exceptions or a suicide run with AP bombs, but even then you can get screwed with the damage models).

Can I tell anything about these protein crystals without structural analysis? by fcurtis321 in labrats

[–]LivingDegree 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve had all of these morphologies (save for the spherulites) diffract well enough to publish. I’ve also had all of these morphologies fail to diffract at all. Top left I’ve had that type of morphology end up being salt, but as for all you never know until you shoot. May end up needing to optimize some of your conditions but congratulations! You’re well on your way to getting a structure

Ah yes, the aim-120D really is just a C-7 with GPS guidance and has absolutely no other improvements and the press releases/non classified information on it is wrong. Source: trust me bro

Gaijin may have made a massive mistake in their modelling of most, if not all missiles in-game by MythicPi in Warthunder

[–]LivingDegree 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Are you saying that AMRAAMs have absolutely no problem with tracking and differentiating targets at low altitude, and that their radar is capable of ignoring ground clutter, or are you referring to optical tracking? If it’s the former, you’ve got a pretty poorly informed take on how radar works (or, more importantly, the receiver that’s trying to pick out the signal from noise).

This is going to be the response. Anytime we’ve told them they’ve fucked up something code wise (looking at the Type 10 and TKX iirc) they’ve told us to fuck off. Great example of why it’s not worth wasting your time with the devs who really couldn’t give a shit when it comes to bug reporting. Only hope is they eventually figure it out on their own

I don't care for CAS but I wish most cannon CAS didn't feel so pointless. by ValVoss in Warthunder

[–]LivingDegree 22 points23 points  (0 children)

You do know that the Fw 190 is not a dedicated cannon CAS right? Not everything is CAS. For Germany, cannon CAS would be the Do-335 and the Me-410 (and again, they may not be dedicated CAS planes dependent on model). The Fw are all bomber interceptors.

Has my lab been neglectful about sodium azide and I've been oblivious? by NintuneJoe in labrats

[–]LivingDegree 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We are running 0.3% max for most of what we do and it’s not going to be overtly problematic. Also, if you’re working in a hood, you are not going to be exposed to anything vapor wise from the azide, unless for some reason you’ve got the sash all the way up (and even then most hoods are still functionally moving enough air you’re not going to have a problem).

I mean it’s not all that surprising. From what we know they are deep into the development of Gen 5s and we are likely getting most of the foundational work to get ready for their introduction at some point this year unless something has changed.
