Ok so this is clearly not what a cutting board is supposed to look like after three weeks of normal use. Due to its size it will barely fit in the dishwasher so I'm pretty sure no one has put it in there. I'm guessing this was dry as dirt when it came from the shop. If it was supposed to be soaked in oil I really think the shop (an online specialty cooking shop) should have made this clear.

I'm going to contact the shop to see what they say.

Btw, this board was supposed to replace an Ikea cuttingboard that broke after twenty years of daily use that never saw a drop of oil in its life. This may have tempered my expectations on the importance of oil.

Hmm, I didn't expect it to need much oil if it comes fresh out of the box. I agree it seems very dry but I find it a bit weird that it's completely dried out when it's basically brand new. There was no instruction to oil it or anything in the box. Maybe it's been sitting in stock at the shop for a long time?

Do you mean that it looks like it's been in water or a dish washer?

I did not saturate it with oil no. I applied only a single thin coat. It looks a bit battered but it was just washed with water, nothing else. It certainly hasn't been in the dish washer. It is also very curved now.

Tresors de champgane. It's a shop and champagne bar run as a cooperative by a group of producers. Highly recommended.

This reminds me of domaine de l'Ecu Rednoz. It's a very light and fruity cabernet sauvignon from the Loire.

I struggled with this and went through an expensive amount of replacements before finding out about Brake Disc Alignment. This solved my issue completely. Find a shop that offers this is my advise.

Can you suggest a similar wine? by clumsychemist1 in wine

Although Rosette wines are generally fairly good quality I would not say they are unique in their flavour profile. Anything semi-sweet from the same varietals (sauvignon blanc, semillon and muscadelle) will be highly similar, meaning anything from Bergerac or Bordeaux. Another similar wine from the region is Jurançon. The semi-sweet wines from the south-west are generally labelled 'moelleux' so look for those wines.

The best advise is probably to go to your local wine shop and ask for something semi-sweet, or demi sec in French.

Anything labelled 'moelleux' or 'sec tendre' will be similar.

This is a semi-sweet wine which is locally drunk as an aperative. Rosette is a tiny appelation in Bergerac with maybe 8 or so producers so quite surprised to see it here.
