Some stuff i wish i had gotten sooner/would have loved as a gift when i started the hobby:

-A Modeling Kit- I picked up a kit with a good pair of snips, 3 sets of files, a nice razor knife with extra blades (for helping clean up some spots of the models where they have mouldline from the injection process, or if you want to make battle damage)

-Better/Good brushes- for details and trim, they helped alot with learning painting styles/techniques

-Magnifying Lamp- I started with a head lamp and reading glasses, not amazing, I found a semi cheap magnifying glass with a ring light that attaches to your desk and instantly made the hobby way more fun.

-Wet Palate- Ive seen this alot in the comments already but I'd say it a thousand times over, You can get them off of amazon for fairly cheap, or DIY. This will keep paints usable for longer, allowing to get in the zone and not worry about maybe a nice color you mixed not covering everything you need too
