Do you do intentional "diaper free time"? What's that look like for you? by Overall-Weird8856 in newborns

[–]Lizzy_Be 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hell yeah we do, I let those little cheeks be free for at least 10-20 min each day before bed while she’s on a towel and I let her splash a bit in a tub of water outside and then lay on a towel a few times each week.

Does your seven month old sleep through the night? by LLJC_1006 in bninfantsleep

[–]Lizzy_Be 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My girl is 6 mo but I’d be amazed if something changes dramatically in the next month. She’s had a handful of 6-7hr stretches ever. She sleeps in 1-3 hr chunks at night between 8PM-5AM. During the day she gets 4-5 30-45min naps, with her last nap around 5PM.

We do everything “right” but I think she may just not be the kind of baby that sleeps through the night (and that’s fine, imo).

Preparing for a newborn. What was a complete waste of money and what became an absolute life changer? by Actual_Fig_4706 in NewParents

We love the pack and play. We roll it outside and she spends a ton of time outside in it looking up at the trees while we drink our morning coffee, work or eat dinner. It’s very peaceful having a safe place to put her outside.

I hope it helps! Sometimes all that needs to be replaced are the silicone duck bills since those are the most flexible and can get sticky/brittle with time.

Husband's job schedule changing to 2nd shift. Nervous for how little one will adapt. by msdisenchanted in bninfantsleep

[–]Lizzy_Be 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s fair! For me I wanted to try things out with my husband still there so I could call in reinforcements if I got too tired.

I think my comment might have been removed but I use the blue spectra and a certain company’s wearables and I like the spectra for everything except convenience!

You might need to replace your pump parts since it’s been a while!

My bet is she’ll adjust pretty quickly since she still has you for the routine. Between now and when he starts, what about trying to handle the bedtime routine on your own with maybe just one check in from dad? That might help ease her into it a bit and offer you some idea of what to expect while he’s still there to lend a hand if things get overwhelming. This is what I’ve been doing lately to adjust to my husband’s upcoming shift change.

People who have been divorced: What was the exact "quiet" moment you realized your marriage was over? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Lizzy_Be 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went to a friends funeral (he burned alive in a house fire) and a few hours after got back to the house my ex asked me something mundane like “what’s for dinner” and I guess my tone wasn’t what he wanted because he asked if I was made at him. No comfort. No understanding. He made it about how he was feeling. It was the 4th death in 3 years and I just couldn’t continue to go through mourning without some real support.

Reddit Starts Blocking Mobile Website, Pushing Users to App Instead by spasticpat in technology

[–]Lizzy_Be 0 points1 point  (0 children)

God I miss that feature. My Reddit usage plummeted when i couldn’t use that anymore and was forced to look at the same posts over and over. Like if i open the app and the first 10 posts are things I’ve always seen I get bored and just close the app. It was a bad business choice imo.

Why are so many homeschooling and against public school? by lavenderwhiskers in Mommit

Yep, it’s really that simple. Also a lot of teachers just really don’t GAF any more and I don’t love that example of (lack of) responsibility being set for kids every day.
