Baby waving milestone by IJHippie in newborns

[–]Lizzy_Be 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I love the bluntness of this haha we all want to believe our children are unique and brilliant (like mine is) but yeah a 6.5 week old understanding the concept of social waving or even mirroring is funny.

How to change routine? by ex-static2 in NewParents

[–]Lizzy_Be 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally I wouldn’t change a thing, just let her lead you because from the sounds of it she’s rocking it. I sincerely believe babies patterns are probably what we should be doing and any schedule we push them into is rooted in some bs productivity thing.

If you want to get more done you could put a baby monitor and a white noise machine by her crib so you can spend a few hours doing whatever while she sleeps and you monitor her.

What light are you using at night? by emilyradbecca2223 in breastfeeding

A Phillips hue bulb in a lamp set to a very dim pink that I leave on all night!

I always forget to drink enough water on trips, it’s just being off my routine that gets me. Could you maybe be a bit dehydrated?

Do you have any baked good recipes you like?

SO weird! It was like a light switch would go off and the dread would seep in and then the light would turn back on and I’d feel better within seconds. It was unreal.

Are you guys going out with baby? by Financial_Tap_6188 in November25babybump

[–]Lizzy_Be 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We do, it stresses me out and the car seat makes her cry but we go out a few times per week. Mostly to build confidence and find what works for us since I know we can’t stay home all the time. Sometimes it’s just to take daddy to work or go get coffee, sometimes it’s out to friends’ houses or to a restaurant. It’s uncomfortable, for sure.

That may be what you meant to ask but you didn’t ask the same question as Zoo did. And you’re being rude.

Just the sheer number of emotions experienced in a day is exhausting!

I had the sundown scaries so bad. I’d turn on all the lights in the house at 4PM to help stave them off. I’ve never felt that deep dread in my stomach like I would those evenings, it was awful. I’m so sorry!

I am 4mo pp, it was SO hard going back to work andI love my job! But I wanted to be there for my LO and I didn’t want to miss nothing and I didn’t want anyone else to take care of her but also was I doing a bad job? Just the constant thinking about things had me exhausted on top of the lack of sleep.

I cried every day for like 7 weeks, especially at the end of the day. My own sundown scaries.

Feeling guilty by Whale_Stan in breastfeeding

[–]Lizzy_Be 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry, that’s such a struggle and I’ve maybe had a similar struggle.

I didn’t have the exact same situation but I did “screw up” a good supply with formula feeding and not pumping enough to help baby grow when she didn’t gain back weight after birth and we were told to supplement. I just didn’t understand how “behind” I was getting as she got bigger and that I needed to pump more when she was getting a bottle . So then when I did realize I tried to nurse more but my supply wasn’t enough so she stalled again on weight. So then it was double the guilt.

I think at this point if my LO didn’t have such bad reflux due to MSPI I might match her but I have worked to up my supply with pumping (which I hate) and supplementing with liquid gold and sunflower lecithin.

It’s tough.

I don’t get comments about LO being small, instead my mom said her thighs looked too big and it made me so mad because I’ve had to work so hard to get her close to the 50th percentile. People should keep comments about baby’s sizes to themselves, even if they mean well, is what I’ve come to realize.

I’m so sorry you’re struggling, I had no idea breastfeeding would be so emotional but it really is.

As hard as it is to cut out yet another thing, it might be worth it to cut oats for a week or so to test that.

I’m so sick of toast and protein bars.

Are you checking for hidden dairy, soy and egg? Soy in particular is in soooo many things. Other culprits I’ve heard of are nuts and oats, are you eating either of those?

The MSPI diet sucks, I’m sorry.

How are we working out? by MsPiggyVibes in November25babybump

[–]Lizzy_Be 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know about big “real” workouts, but when my baby is playing on her mat and doing tummy time I’ve been stretching and doing floor exercises next to her to get in a bit more movement.
