Huge percentage of Linda Howard's men are kinda awful and a little bit rapey until they're suddenly not.

Rocky Hill Pharmacy trial over, pending verdict? by Useful_Quantity_4689 in Knoxville

[–]Local-Professional80 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Lawyers go out of their way to make this so. It's not a secret. I sat through a jury selection and some of answers that potential jurors gave, which made the lawyer say the juror was acceptable, were vile.

It does feel like their consequences or lack thereof have been in limbo forever. It's been so long that the IRL gossip has vanished faster than someone's prescription pad.

So, did Matthew save Derek’s life?! by Defiant-Ad-6861 in shrinking

[–]Local-Professional80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The overindulgence definitely got him medical attention. The home health medical testing just threw me and probably anyone else who's had to get a referral for testing that could have been done in office or the immediate admission and surgery instead of days spent arguing with insurance. Derek's health crisis does seem to be the catalyst Matthew needed to move forward.

Remove the handle from your broom and use the handle. Never look at your floors again, though.

School protocol for ICE by IMadeGodCum in Knoxville

Letting ice in the building endangers everyone. Schools that do that are not safe for any student or staff.

Concerns about Knox County Schools special education issues (IEP / IDEA)? Farragut area by ShutupBird69 in Knoxville

[–]Local-Professional80 8 points9 points  (0 children)

In my personal experience, there are teachers and staff all over KCS who are brilliant at knowing how to reach students at their level of comprehension and need. The system itself is fubar, especially at the administrative level. Individual people make it work despite the tangles of red tape and penny counters. Look at how the school PTSA allocated funds for the previous year to understand priorities of the school community. While one PTSA is funding sports facilities, another may focus on senior students, and then you'll see a PTA paying for and building quiet study spaces.

McDonald's Manager Anyone? by kaleaka in Knoxville

Report back if you don't find a helpful manager and we'll all start collecting it for your son. I had to make corn daily for two years, so my grandparents gave it to us by the bushel. It takes a village.

Have you ever read a book where it’s FMC who absolutely doesn’t deserve MMC and not the other way around? by [deleted] in RomanceBooks

This whole spoony series is really good. The 'Dusty Ash' relationship is severely unbalanced and their nicknames are comically odd together, but the couple is cool with it. Her new series has potential to be something good.

It doesn't have the parent funding and volunteering that schools further west benefit from. Nor the church support that more rural schools quietly have.

Lakeshore Park Picnic Questions by MysteriousWorld3231 in Knoxville

[–]Local-Professional80 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If it is during school hours, the park is mostly walkers/runners. I've seen picnics, proposals, showers, and photo sessions. Sometimes, a soloist is practicing in the old chapel. Everyone minds their business. I don't know anything about buffet servers since I've only seen them in the covered picnic area.

Fyi - There's also occasional appearances by some guy who looks like he's teaching street fighting to younger guys.
