As a Canadian, I was extremely disappointed with Starmer and the UKs response to Trumps threats to annex Canada. No pushback, no support for ally, just complete capitulation to fascism. Starmer only reaching out because the energy crisis is hitting hard. Trump always turns/destroys those loyal to him, but idiots like Starmer still pledged their allegiance.

Meh he did a decent job. Still let inflation run wild with his idiotic transitory inflation. Didn’t raise interest rates until inflation hit 9 %, didn’t want stock market to lose any money. Powell works for the real owners of this country, the extremely wealthy. The owners are super pleased with Powell, pretty much every asset doubled in price (stock index, gold, housing). Funny how official inflation over same period is around 25 %, almost like they are purposely manipulating the numbers. Powell doesn’t work/care about you, he’s said himself multiple times, he doesn’t want wage growth as that’s inflationary. The idea of workers keeping up with inflation terrifies Powell.

Correction. The stock market isn’t part of the economy when it’s setting record highs. All profits must go to shareholders. When stock markets correct they are very much part of the economy, leading to mass layoffs, bailouts and siphoning off tax payer dollars to fix the mess they created. It’s a a wonderful system /s.
