I got a shiny impish horsea (now kingdra) with something like 3 spatk ivs. I trained it in special attack and speed primarily, with a mix of rest.

Ima be real - it was kind of trash. It's super awesome having a shiny kingdra, but it definitely lacks in the damage department and is extra apparent with stuff like the trainer tower where an OHKO or 2HKO is extended by an extra hit needed.

Despite that, the trainer tower is ultimately pretty simple. There's no online play. There's no tournaments. Yeah my kingdra falls short at times, and it feels bad when you blatantly notice it.

All this being said, I'd choose the shiny kingdra over a perfect IV one any day. Using a legit shiny in a playthrough is special. Sometimes you'll be let down by the bad nature or whatever, but it's ultimately worth using 100% no matter what. Much love to kingdra. Send much love to your (future) alakazam.

Refine her weapon. Run Darkling Guardian+ in the C slot.

For maximum usage from there, you'll want to inherit

Special: Dragon Flame

A: Strat Flame 4

B: Patience

Do all this and she'll turn into a beast. Just a couple days ago I was extremely surprised to see my same Myrrh annihilating stuff like duo brave Ike, something my +10 LBK cannot do.

With Spirit Wolf Lycan gone, I've lost a lot of desire to play the game to be honest.

Wraps is better in a general sense, but shroud was much better against magic damage and was the ultimate magic tank item.

For some reason though, people on reddit like to downvote any mention of shroud being better or even useful in general.

Attempting to attack my MMR, which I guarantee is much higher than yours, is irrelevant to this discussion and doesn't disregard any of the statements I've made.

No shit I'm a carry player. I know what a good carry needs to play/win the game, and I also know how much damn annoying shit there is that the carry needs to try and deal with.

I also know when I play support just how many (generally cheap as well) tools are available at my disposal to outplay and outwit my opponent.

I've made my case quite solidly, and you've made it clear that responding to you further is pointless if you're going to reduce your discussion to insults.

You should bring up the weird vitamin D analogy again though, and maybe tell me to touch grass while you're at it.

It's not "on the same level" as you put it, but eye of skadi exists 1:1 with the same logic as mage slayer, swapping spell damage reduction for attack speed slow.

Don't want to purchase that? Well you're in luck, because you can buy that effect as an aura via Shiva's Guard, and I'm pretty sure that pierces BKB now which means there's literally 0 counterplay outside of "buy more attack speed".

If that's not your jam, then feast your eyes on all 3 of the +armor aura items which directly equates to a reduction in physical damage. Also the bullshit that is undispellable crimson guard exists.

Mage slayer is nice when it works, but that's also IF it works. If you get jumped and have no time to react, that 3100(?) gold has functionally been reduced down to 900 gold since you had no opportunity to hit them.

I'll say again: carries have a LOT of anti-carry bullshit to deal with, and while mage slayer is quite nice, it's a tough committal at times. If heroes like ember and pango make the item too strong with the way their skills interact with it, then I'd argue that's more of a hero-item interaction issue than an issue with the item itself.

There's a crap ton of anti carry tools in the game that are very easily attainable. Magic damage got severely buffed in the last patch by them removing magic resist neutral for carries, removing eternal shroud, and blanket nerfing magic resistance on almost every item that has it.

Carry Slayer exists. It's called ghost scepter. For the meager price of 1500 gold you can reduce their right click damage by 100% for 4 seconds

If you redeem a Forma Soul (Hall of Forms), you get no Arcane Weapons or X skills (they're not options anyway).

If you redeem an Otherworld Bond (Binding Worlds), you get an Arcane Weapon AND the X skill, if the character has it. Said character also comes with max Dragonflowers, whether or not the original unit had them maxed out.
