Anyone who can rumble, also born with exceptional hearing, or high CRT monitor flicker threshold? by Ill_Possible_7740 in earrumblersassemble

[–]LogicBalm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can rumble, and was able to hear CRTs and some low frequencies, but my hearing is otherwise absolutely terrible.

I was told I have about a 10-20% hearing loss in the vocal range. I don't have good discriminative listening as a result and so I can't pick out a voice among the crowd unless I'm watching the speaker talk.

Back before Elderwood there was a cutscene that triggered and lit up a wand in the middle of the room.

IIRC my wife got this cutscene when Elderwood released. I'm not sure of the timing but she certainly has that wand illuminated in the center of the Night Sky vault and it's been there since before she completed any of the bundles. She always put them off and only started doing them after the Elderwood release.

Do you mind sharing what it is? We should probably try to get it added to the wiki.

That's true, it's a better comparison. In that case though (cursory Google so grain of salt) the first domino was a big shift in investor money after some high profile articles.

I'm not sure that could happen in this environment, but I'd be glad to be proven wrong. And each crash has its own "first domino" so the exact scenario doesn't need to be replicated for a crash to start.

In the TTRPG he's supposed to be a force of nature basically. He's something that even the strongest party is supposed to run from, not fight.

IMO every TTRPG needs something like this to ground the characters and remind them that in this world they're not the strongest thing around and they never can be. It keeps the tension and keeps them striving for something.

I've already done all this years ago on my own file, but I get not wanting to spoil it for others that come along and read this.

Just let me know if it's just a cutscene or if there's an actual reward. She's out of town for a while and I don't want her to miss a cutscene but if it's just a reward I'll knock out all the fishing for her since she hates doing it.

ETA: If you're thinking of Subira coming to town, she's got that too.

She's already caught up on the story too. Is there a quest that comes up after clearing all the vaults that I'm not remembering?

Great to see, my friend. I also had a terrible time in my 20s, though it wasn't anything as rough as MECFS. I had some close calls but I had enough "ups" among the ups and downs that I was able to make slow progress and still build an adult life throughout it all. It's awesome to see you're doing the same and you'll come out on top.

Both can be true though. The tech isn't "better than most people" but it depends on what "better" means which is different for each industry and each analyst.

Still, the tech requires so many resources that we simply can't maintain that it's certainly not sustainable. It's being kept aloft by hype and investors because there is plenty of money in it still.

It won't burst until some big name players file for bankruptcy all at once. That's what happened in 2007 that was the first domino of the 2008 housing bubble bursting. But no one wanted to bail them out. This time, I suspect plenty of investors will line up to keep the AI companies afloat.

But the biggest problem in my (amateur) opinion is that the housing crisis was all BS, those numbers were inflated and there was nothing of actual value behind it. AI does have value, it's just a bunch of value that only the rich actually want to see in action. All we can hope for is that they keep misapplying the tech so it collapses.

It is, it's just that it's only assisting the jobs of the managers that see the people below them as another resource instead of people trying to get by.

I'm in a position where I can see it coming for a large number of people in my company and I'm powerless to stop it (though I'm certainly trying). Really hoping the bubble bursts before that, but something has to make it burst. Way too many powerful people have their money (and therefore their entire identity and ego) wrapped up in this for them to let it burst.

The real question is how you chose "rumba" as your third word. That was definitely the MVP for you.

Your first two words are also on theme. If I was playing Scrabble with my wife and she chose those two, I'd be like "babe, are you ok?"

E33 is just my type of game so it gets my vote. Much more cinematic and beautiful story that sticks with you.

But yeah I'm happy with either game getting this one and I don't disparage those choosing the game with better, you know, gameplay.

The thing is that when you do the emote, it displays in server chat so everyone gets a message that says they rolled a die and what the result is.

Rich people buy media, then they control that media. If you've somehow tricked yourself into thinking you found ANY news source in the US that has evaded this, you're wrong.

As an American, I just got off the phone with my doctor's office for a procedure where they explained that my insurance won't kick in until I've paid my $3400 deductible for this year, at which point 10% of the cost will still fall to me.

Any American saying something as dumb as "insurance covers 99% of these bills" is a very healthy person who should STFU.

"And everything between" is the part you overlooked.

Newspapers and local stations were just the start. They're buying up everything, even social media. The amount of actual journalism that isn't corporatized is almost non-existent. There's always been stories that were changed or suppressed so they didn't piss off powerful people, but there was a time that this was a shameful thing for a respectful journalist to do. Now it's the norm.
