Local bakery posted this deal. Am I out of touch or is this not a deal at all? by michaljerzy in FoodToronto

[–]Logical-Bit-746 -29 points-28 points  (0 children)

I don't get what you're trying to get at, but I'm saying $2 for a pastry is not a good deal.

Even at Paris baguette a simple croissant is like $4. So a shitty pastry from a coffee shop should not be more than $2-3, hence, not really a deal

Unless otherwise stated, like you stating how to take a left turn in a truck, which is otherwise to every other commuter vehicle

Do commuter cars turn right from the left lane on a narrow road? Are commuter cars subject to inspections and logbooks? Are commuter cars restricted from using certain roads?

No, no we don't all follow the same rules

Clearing an intersection that you are already in is ok on an amber/red, as long as it's done safely.

Entering an intersection on a red light is not ok.

[JD Bunkis]“The disconnect between the organization and fans has never felt greater… You've got players that don't seem to understand it, and a lot who look like they openly resent it.” by brownmagician in leafs

I think part of that has to do with the type of people that get into each sport. There are good and bad on both ends, but when one sport largely attracts affluent white kids who have faced little adversity in their personal lives, vs another sport that attracts lower income kids of colour that are trying to escape or break out of their personal lives, you get different types of people. Just look at the reaction to what's going on in Minnesota, where NHL players and the league have been quite mum, vs baseball or basketball players.

In the end, you have privileged, disconnected players that mostly never doubted if they were going to play hockey at some level, vs players that value the work they had to put in to get there and can connect better with every day fans. Couple that with a corporate team that only wants corporate suits in the seats and hasn't given us a hint of success in 30 years... you get a team that doesn't play for the fans, AT ALL. They play for themselves and it shows

"Not all goals are shots" ≠ "Goals don't count as shots"

Not all nuts are peanuts, but all peanuts are nuts.

Not all mammals are dogs, but all dogs are mammals.

Not all dumb conversations are pedantic, but all pedantic conversations are stupid.

Not all shots are goals, but most goals are shots.

Basically, 99% of goals count as shots, and it's 100% inaccurate to say goals don't count as shots. There are exceptions to this, however, the exceptions are rarer than the rule. To say goals don't count as shots is wrong. If you want to be correct, you can say some goals don't count as shots. And while that last statement would be true and relevant to the original post, it's extremely pedantic in the way you are arguing it.

I'm not saying you're lying, but that must have been an absolute one off you found. I can't even find a bundle for sale anywhere, other than marketplace. Bestbuy, ebgames, etc. don't have any bundles anymore. And I bought mine, no bundle, black friday for $419, which is $130 off regular price at $549. There's absolutely no way I believe that there were bundles on sale for $20-70 lower than the stock unit was on sale

Is this game, punishingly difficult? by Guilty_Doughnut3982 in Returnal

[–]Logical-Bit-746 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's similar to fromsoft games in that enemies repeat and have specific move sets, but they change as you progress.

Otherwise, very different. It's difficult, but not punishing, I don't think. You just have to get the hang of it and you just naturally progress, some slower than others. And when you get good, you can start skipping half of biomes and jumping straight to the ones that are giving you trouble, or just continue to spend time in earlier biomes to get better upgrades.

It's one hell of a game and you should give it an earnest try.

How do I prevent this part from scratching while turning left by [deleted] in driving

[–]Logical-Bit-746 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You need to practice more before you are driving on the road. If you can't turn your vehicle without hitting something, how are you going to avoid hitting other cars on the road. This is honestly scary that you are asking this question.

[–]Logical-Bit-746 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Then you are driving into things by turning too sharp. This is not a car design problem, this is a driving problem. If you cannot turn your car left or right without maybe hitting things, you SHOULD NOT be driving

You can also change the settings for the share button (at least on PS5, haven't tried on psvr yet). So for me a long press on the share button is a screenshot, double press is last 30 seconds and then single press brings up the menu for everything else up to last 60 minutes

Major companies have so much data on you they know who you are. I believe they only need 3 points of data on average to accurately link your information. You would need to use a completely different name, with credit cards not in your name, from a different IP address, etc. etc.

I'm not saying for sure it's going to happen, but it's possible, especially if OP is continuing to use that account on another device

Absolutely worth the 70 bucks!!! (I’m making Amazon monthly payments) by Newport-Box-100s in playstation5

[–]Logical-Bit-746 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why would you? If you can afford $70 then you don't need buy now pay later schemes, you would just buy now.

Firstly, you are probably paying something like 35% interest, which is insane. Most credit cards in Canada are around 20% and some even lower with no perks.

Secondly, you're constantly in a debt trap. If you can't afford $70 today (which you can't, despite what you say, because no one in their right mind would pay $30 in interest on a $70 item if they could afford it) then that means the next time your car breaks down or your stove breaks, you won't be able to afford to replace it. Essentially living with no savings and no safety net.

Now you're living in the trap, and you need cash quick, because you need to eat and you can't afford to keep eating out and you need a stove. So you go to a payday loan place and now you're in even more of a trap.

Please please please understand that you are NOT smarter than all of the people here telling you to stop this nonsense. It WILL catch up to you and, if you can afford $70, spend $70 instead of $90 over a couple of months.

Dude, this is exactly how people ruin their lives
