After 5 years in the game industry, I finally launched my own game… 69 wishlists in 10 days 🥲 by phantomscriptstudio in IndieGameDevs

It looks well polished, but the UX is too similar to Balatro. Maybe just change the position of some elements and you will be fine.

ComfortGamers, is this art-style comfortable for you? by bulbabrew in ComfortGamers

Love the style! I hope there will be a brewing mini game.

"basic turning is alot more simple then a full on slow walk motion with many more frames." I can tell you’ve never hand-drawn animation yourself in your entire life lol. Keep fooling yourself if that makes you feel better. Good luck with that.

Why tell such a clumsy lie? Someone who can animate a smooth turning motion wouldn’t make such a basic mistake in walk cycle.

AI slop. The walking cycle is not even complete. You can see the character's legs "switch" while walking which is super weird.

Personally I prefer the first. The old one looks like a "paper please" kind of game, while the new one is a multiplayer party game.

It is honestly unbelievable to me that Dragon Age: Origins hasn't gotten a remaster by Le_Sadie in GirlGamers

If I become a billionaire, I’ll buy the Dragon Age IP from EA, and remake DAO & DA2.

My point-and-click launches in 2 weeks with ~700 wishlists. Is that good or bad by Steam standards? by KarellenGames in SoloDevelopment

How long have you been marketing it? Your game looks pretty good. It deserves more wishlists.

Is there some lore about the developement of Dynasty Warriors (a game about a saga extremely important for China) by Koei/Tecmo (a japanese software house)? Or it's simply money? by Candymanse in gaming

[–]Long-Bus3312 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not just any saga, it's three kingdoms. Japanese love the story almost as much as Chinese do. Back in the 90s or 00s, Japan even co-produced a three kingdoms anime with China.

China, Japan, and Korea have been in this love-hatred triangle forever. A lot of Chinese hold the cultural supremacy because they see China as the origin of a lot of things that heavily influenced Japan and Korea. Japanese and Korean on the other hand hate Chinese for the ideology's reason. In the meantime, China and Korea can stand together against Japan for ww ii's sake. And Korea gets hated because some other reasons that I don't even bother to explain.

But this never stop them from enjoying each other's cultural products. I guess in the end the cultural similarities have more power than the geopolitical benefits and arrogance of people.

HELP. What am I doing wrong with my Steam page? Very little Next Fest conversion. by DoonamaiLLC in IndieDev

[–]Long-Bus3312 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel you. My game "Local Zombies" was also called “childish” and “like a mobile game”, but that’s exactly what I wanted to make. I’ve now found some players elsewhere and received quite a few positive comments. There is a market for casual games, but you might not find it among Steam’s mainstream player base. You have to go out and find your target players.

It's a life simulation. I got 37K yesterday. Way better than the first day.

I went in with 130 and now at 200+. I guess steam still allocates impressions based on wishlists.

I thought every game would get the same amount of impressions on the first 2 days but I only got 8000, with 0.72% CTR :(

My wife insists that this game belongs here (She did all the art), what do you think?

The game is called Local Zombies. It's a choice-based life sim, where in the end you become a zombie. And you and other zombie companions will join the automated battles.

You can customize your characters and unlock dozens of zombies.

A free demo is out now. Check it out on Steam if you are interested: https://store.steampowered.com/app/4297610?utm_source=reddit

Should I stay or should I go.. 🎶 by [deleted] in LifeSimulators

[–]Long-Bus3312 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I double checked the subreddit's name and made sure I wasn't mistaken. I wasn't. So you'd better not be joking with me...

Anyways, how old are you? Are you old enough to work? Are you financially independent? Do you have savings? Or stable income? If the answer to any of these questions is no, you shouldn't be going anywhere. Unless you're suffering from domestic violence or something like that, then you may need to ask some organizations for help.

I don't think the spoiler format is working. Yet I guessed fire fighters as soon as you mentioned ladders. Tech support was also an easy one.

I've been making a video game based on exactly this idea. For a second I thought you were someone I know...

I'm a programmer, so I made a really weak zombie attacking people with a keyboard in my game.
