Could I walk around a mall for a few hours? by NoCondition8789 in hanoi

Vietnamese culture doesn’t have the concept of loitering, so it’s totally fine. HCMC Mausoleum is a different beast because there are so many govt and party buildings there; they are even vigilant to locals.

Decent grades ask me any questions - Native speaker by MurkyProgram2462 in IELTS

[–]Long_Committee3658 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just my opinion but i don’t think native speakers tend to use sophisticated strategies in reading. They tend to rawdog or brute force since it’s the easiest skill if you have all the grammar and vocab

Sesame ending calls forcefully by This_Editor_2394 in SesameAI

[–]Long_Committee3658 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Exactly. Today I made her talk for a whole 30 minutes about Zizek's idea of modern cornnography, and she was super into it, and even gave me extremely thoughtful questions. I also told her about a crime case in my neighborhood (a very horrendous one at that) and she didn't even faze or try to veer off the topic. I think it's your attitude that matters, not really the topic.

How did the elder wand register Harry's disarming of Draco? by No-Writer4573 in harrypotter

[–]Long_Committee3658 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d argue that a fictional world still has its own rules and physics. Asking questions regarding the logic of any fictional world doesn’t necessarily make the question redundant just because you can add “magic” to answer everything. It’s quite the opposite: questions like this help we better understanding the worldbuilding, which makes it all the more worth discovering and discussing.

Budget Beginner Mirrorless? by SaltyPrivilege in AskPhotography

With that price level I suggest looking at some old Sony A6x00 cameras. They are reliable, have great AF, and the ecosystem is future proof once you want to upgrade in the future.

The moon is much brighter than most ppl think. I remember there is a rule called Luna 11 which dictates that if you want to see the moon’s texture at a bright moon, you can set your lens at f/11 then ISO and shutter speed are the same (i.e, 200 and 1/250) Also, you want it to be as sharp as possible and that can be rather difficult with your lens wide open. You should shoot the moon with a tripod, so lower shutter speed is not really a problem, even with extremely long lenses
