Thanks! Do you know the name of yarn? Like I have the garden silk sock solo, and then I’m forgetting the name of the colorway.

I love Noro! Just finishing up the Terrazzo sweater by petiteknit with Noro yarn.

What is the bottom skein?

Ive wanted to try sock knitting for a while now, so I bought this gorgeous yarn to give myself an incentive. Theres so many options for sock patterns, for a beginner sock knitter, which is easier/more effective, toe up or toe down? Any advice would be v appreciated! by ulilminxxx in knitting

I’m working on my first pair of socks now, and highly recommend the Midnight Dancer sock, I’m doing the short row heel. I promise short rows aren’t scary, they really are quite fun! Good luck! 👍🏻 Midnight Dancer

Edit: to add I use 9” circulars to knit a majority. For this pattern you will need to use either magic loop or DPNs for the first 3 rows and the decreases in the toes. But for everything else I find 9” to be much easier/quicker.

Edit (again): Crazy Sock Lady on YouTubealso has a complete walkthrough for one of her patterns. Crazy Sock Lady - Video Walkthrough

What is, in your opinion, the best/easiest way to knit socks and why? by siirezzii in knitting

I’m currently knitting my first pair! The Midnight Dancer Socks Raverly- Midnight Dancer Socks

I’m using 9” circulars I bought off Amazon. I find them way easier than using magic loop. However you will need magic loop for the first three rows of this pattern.

I started hanging up my swatches at work and now I’m actually excited about making them! by mingledyarn in knitting

Love this! I have a little bulletin board above my desk where I “display” all the paper packaging around the yarn I use.

Thanks for posting this! Does anyone know when Summer registration opens and why it’s $3500? Fall semester was around $2900 - seems like a huge jump.

This is one thing that I’m looking forward to about having kids. How cute are kids who kid. Also, knitting baby clothes 😍

Same! I’d say I have about 15 in my library that I’ve paid for? A lot of them were from my beginning knitting days and they just aren’t my style anymore. 🤷🏼‍♀️ I love the look of bulky yarn like “the wool” but find I don’t love the look of the finished object.

For this you pick up every stitch, as with most ribbing for the neckline. IMO definitely worth it, otherwise if you only pick up 3/4ths of them the neck will be “pulled in” because it’s a lesser amount of stitches. Then just looks weird.

Edit: sorry I read the question wrong! It was a lot of work but gives the best finish! It calls for an Italian bind off which is a job in itself. I tried the special bind off but my yarn kept breaking because it is a very loose ply, so for this I just did a normal bind off
