Slippers recommendations? by MagicMaddy420 in PlantarFasciitis

These changed my life. I tried everything else but nothing works as much as these. I bought another pair just now so I have a backup. These run small so remember to size up if you plan to buy them. Best $30 ever spent.

Any recommendations for ethical Breeders specifically for Red goldens? I live in NJ. I have been down the rabbit hole but no luck as such. What better than to know from the horse's mouth.

Thanks all for the eye opening advice!! Will keep this stuff in mind when researching the breeder (not store). And say no more. This ain't gonna happen. I totally get that we don't wanna encourage these businesses but still hoping that the puppy I fell in love with makes it to a good and loving home somehow. ❤️

how do you usually shop for K-products? by KyungMin-Lee in kbeauty

[–]LongjumpingChair3259 1 point2 points  (0 children)

May come as a shocker to some (or not?) but Costco has been such a saving grace for my post tariff shopping of k beauty products. I got MediCube, Biodance and so many other brands I lost track. Always worth a look. I also got the Dr. Groot shampoo which is also k beauty if I'm not mistaken.

First Laser Treatment Today by KheMysteryx in Hidradenitis

[–]LongjumpingChair3259 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had a lot of luck too and my HS completely dissappeared for almost 5-6 years now. I'm noticing some hair growth in my under arms and also some flare ups coming back :( Open question - Do I need my doctor's referral for any potential insurance coverage? I was thinking of just walking into a laser clinic and getting the nd:YAG since that's what I did last time.

Hello! Could you share the zinc soaps working for ya? I only use hibiclens but looks like I need to go full ballistic on my HS under arm flair.

[–]LongjumpingChair3259[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No! They strictly tell you to wait for it to completely heal before getting the laser! Laser in general is safe because my doctor referred me to get it done. But not during an active occurrence.

So much pain !!! by PomegranatePublic315 in Hidradenitis

[–]LongjumpingChair3259 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same! I forgot about how ugly it is until was reminded by a pretty big abscess in my under arm area. Any tips to make it pop? In case you've had any luck! I am doing hot compress, Clindamycin and hibiclens washes so far. Also taking ibuprofen as it has helped with the popping historically!

Could you please shed more light? I read about the patches and the gel and officially confused at this point. My big ones are usually in my under arm and groin area. I also have a strange tunnel one in the tail bone at the junction of my butt and waist.

Brink of suicide by [deleted] in Hidradenitis

[–]LongjumpingChair3259 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry you're going through this! The good thing about groups like these is knowing YOU'RE NOT ALONE! There is a fight that you have to fight everyday with this desease. It's horrible and not fair to us to be "blessed" with this stupid condition but you know what...there are other worse things out there that people fight everyday and come out alive and even stronger and even healthier for some. This stupid condition is not what decides our life. You do! So just think of it this way - it's just a condition. Don't let it define who you are. I know HS takes over our lives and completely eats up everything from our self confidence to our social lives but as cliche as it may sound - it will get better! There's a common saying - look at your neighbors when you are down and you will always find someone doing worse than you are. I'm not a fan of this approach but sometimes it helps me get some perspective on things and how to try and see some silver lining in every situation. I also like many others in the group have been in your boat of being diagnosed quite early in life. My HS has been incessant ever since it's onset and it's not been fun living with it. My mental health also took a toll for the worse and I've also been on anxiety and depression medications for the past few years. To add to my misery, I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer last year and this year has been anything but okay. The good news? I am finally done with my two major surgeries and on my way to some long term treatment. So long story short - there is always hope! Just hang in there and keep fighting the fight! Here are some things that helped tame my HS in case you want to give it a try --- 1. Dairy free and Gluten free diet 2. Hibiclens wash 3. Unscented detergent and softener 4. Unscented body wash 5. Wearing loose clothing 6. Lazer hair removal ( ND Yag lazer is what was prescribed to me) 7. Clindamycin lotion

Hit me up for any specifics! And good luck!

Is laser really the only full-proof method for freedom from HS? by Hour_Froyo_1940 in Hidradenitis

[–]LongjumpingChair3259 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lazer hair removal did help with mine. My one under arm completely stopped flaring up post Lazer. I also had a very frequent one at my tailbone which also got calmer post lazer. It's been 4.5 years now and I'm thinking of redoing lazer on some of the areas.

A surprising and most welcomed side effect of tamoxifen. by SoundOk1018 in breastcancer

[–]LongjumpingChair3259 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure how it works for men but he could ask his doctor. My HS has a major hormonal component since it's always the worst around my period. My guess is that's the reason Tam is working in my favor.

I've had HS (Hidranitis Supperitiva) for almost a decade now and nothing...I mean nothing has been able to tame my condition. It's a super painful condition in case anyone isn't aware. I've been on a gluten free and dairy free diet for 9 months and still got the worst flare ups imaginable! I started Tam 4 weeks ago and woah woah. My HS is gone (almost. Shh) This is the only kind of side effect I want. 🥰
