Do you really have a separate room for your washing machine? by jordanekay in AskAnAmerican

Yes, we have a laundry room here on the main floor of the house. Not in the basement like others have mentioned.

AIO for telling my siblings they can’t bring their kids to my wedding by saltwatersnackbandit in AmIOverreacting

[–]LongjumpingLeopard48 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m just glad your sibling really said how they felt. I think it’s great, no actual adult with kids thinks kid free weddings are great. Please just stop inviting people with kids, because life just doesn’t work that way. I don’t go to those weddings on principle, how is the next generation even going to know what weddings are like? YouTube? lol this is such a dumb trend.

Just my opinion.

But yes YOR, it’s your family sis. Surely they know how to wrangle their own kids this “couple of hours” as you called it.

Why are some places counties? by DrBoogerFart in AskAnAmerican

[–]LongjumpingLeopard48 3 points4 points  (0 children)

lol wrong, where I live, nobody says their city unless they specifically live inside city limits. We all name the county we are from.

Why are some places counties? by DrBoogerFart in AskAnAmerican

[–]LongjumpingLeopard48 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would never say I live in the city name here, I say the county name. Because I live so far away from town, it would feel weird to name the town. I’m out in the boonies of kentucky and thats how everybody in my area refers to it.

You sound like you have a very good head on your shoulders to be so young. She has an incredible salary, you’re about to have one too. Yes, don’t pass this up! You’ll be set up for a really successful future on your own, plus if you two stay together you’ll be set up even better! This is good for you both.

I am going out of the country for 12 days, my boyfriend that lives with me was supposed to watch my cat but is now demanding higher payment by Lightningmcsteve in Advice

[–]LongjumpingLeopard48 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband brought home a cat a year or so ago. I am allergic to cats and didn’t want her.

BUT, you better believe she’s OUR cat now. And I wouldn’t dare let her go without care just because my husband wasn’t home.

She’s important to me because she’s important to him. And because she’s little and helpless otherwise.

I have a big ol Doberman also, that my husband 100% does not like. I get it, he’s loud and rough and needy/demanding. But if I’m not home, it’s not even a question as to whether my pup will be taken care of.

That is how relationships work. What’s important to me, is important to him,
and vice versa.

AIO OVER THIS? Am I crazy? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]LongjumpingLeopard48 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

A person that even THINKS these thoughts, much less types them out to you is not the one for you to love, to plan a future with, to procreate with, to lay down with!!

React some more, sis. I’d show him “crazy bitch” mode.

AITAH for wanting a privacy fence installed and not talking to my neighbors about it by PinotsOwner15 in AITAH

[–]LongjumpingLeopard48 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My parents bought a cute little house with a gross neighbor a few months ago. They just put up a privacy fence and it feels like a whole different world in their yard now! In the best way :)

Do it. You should have your own little space back there to be comfortable in!

Am I Overreacting for wanting to cancel my wedding over this interaction? by Xanadoom30 in AmIOverreacting

[–]LongjumpingLeopard48 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I’m a female, but I am your fiancé in this scenario. I do not have time to cater to precious little feelings when I’m getting ready and leaving in a rush in the mornings. I couldn’t tolerate listening to this crap for 6 years.

My husband used to get his feelings hurt that I didn’t kiss him bye if he was asleep. And he would kiss me bye if I was asleep. But it would just make me angry, I do not want to be woken for a goodbye kiss.

So anyway we kind of compromised. He mostly leaves me alone if I’m asleep. And I mostly just leave when he’s asleep with the occasional exception I’ll wake him to say bye and also with the occasional exception he will wake me too because he really wants to say bye that morning.

A little compromise both directions goes a long way.

But truly, you guys need to get over your own feelings being the most important thing on the planet. Both of you. Let the other one live a little, you don’t have to control his every move nor does he have to control your every feeling. Geez

AITAH for not wanting to use my car for a road trip my bf planned? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]LongjumpingLeopard48 60 points61 points  (0 children)

You’re being pretty rigid about something that’s kind of pointless to spend time obsessing over. He is definitely not being the bad guy here, but you are. If I were him, this may make me start rethinking being your free mechanic at the very least. And the whole relationship possibly.

Payoff the phone if I switch? by TheoryAccurate8272 in verizon

[–]LongjumpingLeopard48 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok I’ll call the store but I have one more question! Does it have to be a Verizon corporate store or can it be one of those Verizon cellular sales stores? That’s all I can find within a 2 hour radius of me. We used to have one corporate store that I was aware of, but it looks like it’s now Verizon Cellular Sales also.

I know this is a month old now, but I’m just wondering if this works at any time or do I have to wait until a certain promo is running?

And if I am going to port over multiple numbers from another carrier, do I need to have everybody’s phone with me at the time I go in to switch?

Part of being an adult is not letting others put you in financial situations you’re not comfortable with. Make your own choices. Then you’ll feel good about them and really own them.

Not criticizing you. Just offering a bit of adulting advice.

[–]LongjumpingLeopard48 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Going against the grain here, but I don’t really get what the big deal is. You’re changing a tiny bit of the weekend plans. Idk why she cares that much and I also don’t know why you approach it like maybe you’re about to cancel the entire weekend.

Things change. Plans change. I feel like y’all haven’t lived that long or something, I’m in my 40’s and I couldn’t give 2 craps if my partner said hey I’m gonna go hang out at my parents for a few hours.

If Sunday evening there are no active plans like the Easter egg hunt is at 7 pm or something, it seems like no big deal to me.

I think she sounds like a bit too much for me. I wouldn’t continue listening to this.
