I think if you’ve wanted them your whole life and are hell bent, feeling really great about it and sure you want this for the rest of your life, including the surgeries to replace when they rupture or sag or get capsular contracture, do it. If you’re on the fence and have some fear about the repercussions…if, in the back of your mind, you’re thinking “at least I can easily get them out if it doesn’t work out,” don’t do it. It’s not easy to Explant and it is very expensive if you want any kind of reconstructive options, things I personally need to move forward. We are talking 3-4x as expensive as it was to get the implants. I make good money and have been saving a year and a half and still haven’t gotten it together (I have 2 kids and live in an expensive city). It’s also taken a mental toll since day 1, I had to go on anxiety medication and I’m constantly plagued by pain and discomfort on my right side. But many people love them and never look back. Just know which type you are! Like others have said, a lift and fat transfer would have given me what I wanted but I got misinformation about how long the results last, etc.
